7 Best Countertop Convection Ovens on the Market Now (2026)

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro is the best all-around countertop convection oven for most buyers. It combines a large 1-cubic-foot cooking chamber with strong air-frying performance, 13 cooking functions, two racks, and enough capacity for a 13-inch pizza, a 9-by-13-inch pan, or a 14-pound turkey. Choose the Breville Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro instead if app-guided cooking and smart features justify the higher price. For large family meals, the Ninja Prestige Smart XL and Ninja Foodi XL Pro Air Oven are the strongest alternatives.

Our other picks cover more specific needs: the Cuisinart TOA-70NAS for value and grilling, the Cuisinart TOA-65NAS for a smaller digital oven, and the KitchenAid KCO124BM for shoppers who specifically want a 9-by-13-inch-pan format.

This is a U.S.-market comparison based on manufacturer specifications and independent testing published or reviewed for an August 12, 2026 research snapshot. Prices, retailer inventory, bundles, and model suffixes can change.

What a countertop convection oven actually does

A countertop convection oven uses heating elements and a fan to circulate hot air around the food. Compared with a conventional toaster oven, that airflow can improve browning and cooking consistency, although results depend on the oven design, rack position, pan, food quantity, and temperature setting.

In this category, air fry is generally a higher-airflow convection mode used with a perforated basket. That makes air-fryer toaster ovens a subset of countertop convection ovens, not a completely separate appliance category. The air-fry preset, basket design, fan strength, and usable cooking area vary from one model to another. A large oven can be excellent for baking and roasting but less impressive when an overloaded basket restricts airflow, so compare conventional oven performance and air-frying performance separately.

The rankings below combine independent testing with manufacturer-published specifications. Good Housekeeping, RTINGS, Consumer Reports, and Food Network supplied testing or comparative-review evidence cited in the relevant sections; capacity, accessories, power, functions, warranty, dimensions, price, and availability are manufacturer claims or research-time observations. ResearchCore did not personally test these ovens.

The 7 best countertop convection ovens

The Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro is the broadest recommendation in this group because it balances conventional oven usefulness with air-frying capability. RTINGS currently identifies it as its best air-fryer toaster oven, citing fast, even air frying, strong versatility, and a spacious chamber. That testing supports its position as the best general-purpose choice, but it should not be read as a claim that every food will cook identically to food in a dedicated basket-style air fryer.

Breville specifies a 1-cubic-foot interior, 13 cooking functions, two oven racks, a 13-inch pizza pan, a 9-by-13-inch broil rack and roasting pan, and a mesh air-fry/dehydrate basket. Its stated capacity includes nine slices of toast, a 13-inch pizza, most 9-by-13-inch pans, a 12-cup muffin tray, and a 14-pound turkey. The oven can also slow-cook with a 5-quart Dutch oven.

The feature set includes toast, bagel, bake, air fry, broil, roast, pizza, cookies, proof, reheat, slow cook, keep warm, and dehydrate. Breville’s Element IQ system adjusts power across the heating elements, while its super-convection mode increases airflow for air frying and dehydration. The published dimensions are 21.4 inches wide by 17.3 inches deep by 12.7 inches high, so this is not a casual appliance for a shallow counter.

Breville listed the BOV900 at $399.95 in the U.S. at research time, with promotional pricing appearing on the product page. The practical trade-off is that it is expensive and heavy compared with compact toaster ovens, but buyers do not pay for app connectivity they may never use.

<

Why choose it

  • Best mix of capacity, convection cooking, and air frying.
  • Fits a 13-inch pizza, most 9-by-13-inch pans, and a 14-pound turkey.
  • Includes two racks and a dedicated air-fry/dehydrate basket.
  • More straightforward than the connected Joule model.

What to watch

  • Measure the counter carefully: the 17.3-inch depth and 12.7-inch height make it a substantial appliance.
  • Its premium price is harder to justify if you mainly toast bread or reheat leftovers.
  • Use the air-fry basket and avoid crowding it if crispness is the priority.

2. Breville Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro BOV950: best premium smart countertop convection oven

Best for: premium buyers who want guided cooking, app control, and a large oven.

The Breville Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro is essentially the choice for people who want a premium countertop oven with a connected cooking workflow. Good Housekeeping named it the best overall toaster oven in its 2026 tested guide, while RTINGS lists it among notable current models and reports very even cooking.

Breville lists 13 physical presets plus three app-exclusive modes. The cooking functions cover toast, bagel, bake, air fry, broil, roast, pizza, cookies, proof, reheat, slow cook, keep warm, and dehydrate. The oven uses Element IQ power management and PID temperature control. Through the companion app, users can access guided recipes, Autopilot, progress monitoring, and wireless updates; the oven is also compatible with Alexa and Google Home.

Its published specifications include 1,800 watts, an 80°F-to-480°F temperature range, a 38.89-pound weight, and a two-year limited warranty. Breville lists room for nine slices of toast, a 13-inch pizza, a 9-by-13-inch pan, a 12-cup muffin tray, or a 14-pound turkey.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The main question is not whether the Joule has useful features; it is whether those features fit your cooking habits. Guided recipes and Autopilot may be valuable for someone who wants help managing a multistep meal. They add less value for a buyer who already knows how to set time and temperature manually. The app also means that some advanced functions depend on using a companion service rather than the oven alone.

At research time, pricing was about $499.95 or more in the U.S., although promotions can change the effective price. The Joule is also large and heavy, so its footprint deserves as much consideration as its smart features.

Why choose it

  • Most capable smart and app-connected option in this comparison.
  • Large enough for family-size roasts, pizzas, pans, and muffin trays.
  • Offers Autopilot, guided recipes, progress monitoring, and voice-assistant compatibility.
  • Independent testing reported very even cooking.

What to watch

  • It costs more than the BOV900, which has similar core oven capacity and functions.
  • Some advanced modes depend on the companion app.
  • At nearly 39 pounds, it is not an appliance you will want to move frequently.

3. Ninja Prestige Smart XL DT501 or DT551: best for large meals and probe-guided cooking

Best for: families that cook large portions or want a temperature-probe workflow.

Rank #2
Cuisinart Air Fryer Toaster Oven, 1800W, 8-in-1 with Air Fry, Convection, Broil & Warm, 0.6 Cubic Feet, 60-Minute Timer, TOA-70NAS, Stainless Steel
  • VERSATILE COOKING FUNCTIONS: This premium 1800-watt Cuisinart Air Fryer Toaster Oven is equipped with an air fry setting plus toast, convection bake, bake, convection broil, broil, grill, and warming feature
  • SPACIOUS CAPACITY: The Cuisinart Air Fryer Toaster Oven is large enough to toast 6 slices of bread, air fry 3 lbs. of chicken wings, bake a 12” pizza, or roast a 4-lb. chicken.
  • SUPERIOR OPERATION: Equipped with an adjustable temperature dial, 60-minute timer/auto-shutoff, and a toast shade selector, this air fryer toaster oven features a wide temperature range (Warm-450°F) to ensure your meals are cooked to your perfection
  • FAST AND CRISPY FOOD: AirAdvantage technology with top fan/heater assembly provides optimized hot air flow for fast and crispy results, locking in flavor and giving food the crispy texture you love
  • WHAT’S INCLUDED: The Cuisinart Air Fryer Toaster Oven includes an oven rack, baking pan/drip tray, air fry basket, ceramic non-stick reversible grill/griddle, and stainless steel easy-clean interior to make cleanup simple.

The Ninja Prestige Smart XL takes a different approach from Breville. Its large format and Smart Surround Convection system are aimed at cooking substantial quantities, and Ninja’s product page claims up to 10 times the convection power of a built-in oven. That is a manufacturer claim rather than an independent benchmark, but the oven’s included two-sheet-pan configuration makes its large-meal orientation clear.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The official product information lists 10 cooking functions, two sheet pans, two wire racks, an air-fry basket, a roast tray, and a removable crumb tray. Good Housekeeping selected the Prestige Smart XL as its best large toaster oven in its 2026 tested guide, supporting it as a strong alternative for households that value capacity and multi-tray cooking.

Model suffixes matter. The DT501 is the standard listing referenced in the research, while the DT551 version adds the Pro Cook system and smart temperature-probe functionality. A probe can help automate cooking to an internal temperature instead of relying only on a timer, but buyers should verify that the exact listing includes the probe and the associated accessories. Do not assume a DT501 bundle contains the same items as a DT551.

The DT501 page displayed a promotional price of $229.99 against a $349.99 reference price during research. Ninja prices and bundles are especially promotion-sensitive, so treat that figure as a snapshot rather than a guaranteed current price.

Why choose it

  • Strong fit for multiple sheet pans and large portions.
  • Good Housekeeping selected it as its best large toaster oven in its 2026 testing.
  • DT551 adds a Pro Cook temperature-probe workflow.
  • Useful alternative for buyers who prefer Ninja’s large-format design.

What to watch

  • Check whether the listing is DT501 or DT551 before purchasing.
  • Verify the included probe, pans, racks, and basket because bundles can differ.
  • The large body needs substantial counter and storage space.

4. Ninja Foodi XL Pro Air Oven DT201: best non-smart large-capacity alternative

Best for: shoppers who want a spacious Ninja oven and two-level cooking without making smart features the deciding factor.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The Ninja Foodi XL Pro Air Oven is the less connected, capacity-focused Ninja choice in this lineup. Consumer Reports’ 2026 buying guide identifies the DT201 as an overall top performer, with high or top-tier scores in nearly all of its laboratory tests. That gives this older product family unusually strong independent-test support, even though it is not the newest or most connected Ninja design.

Ninja’s owner documentation confirms two-level cooking and functions that include air fry and dehydrate. The dehydration function can run for up to 24 hours. The documentation also warns users not to stack food directly on the racks; use the intended rack positions and accessories so air can circulate and food remains properly supported.

The DT201 makes sense when you want an XL cooking chamber, large-batch capability, and a simpler operating concept than the Prestige Smart XL. It is less compelling if a newer model is available at a similar price with better accessories or the probe system you want. Current availability, retailer inventory, and bundle contents should therefore be checked before treating it as a bargain.

Why choose it

  • Strong Consumer Reports testing support.
  • Large format with two-level cooking.
  • Includes useful air-fry and long-duration dehydration functions.
  • Does not require smart features to be useful.

What to watch

  • It belongs to an older product family than the Prestige and Double Stack models.
  • Availability may depend on remaining retailer inventory.
  • Follow the owner’s instructions about rack placement and do not stack food directly on racks.

5. Cuisinart TOA-70NAS Air Fryer Toaster Oven with Grill: best value with grilling flexibility

Best for: value shoppers who want air frying, convection cooking, and an included grill or griddle.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The Cuisinart TOA-70NAS is the most distinctive value pick because it includes a reversible grill/griddle plate rather than concentrating solely on oven functions. Cuisinart lists eight functions: air fry, convection bake, convection broil, bake, broil, warm, toast, and grill.

This is a 0.6-cubic-foot oven with a stated 3-pound air-fry capacity, a maximum temperature of 450°F, an 1,800-watt rating, a stainless-steel interior, and a 60-minute timer with automatic shutoff. The box includes an oven rack, baking pan, air-fry basket, and dual-sided ceramic nonstick grill/griddle plate. Cuisinart lists a three-year limited warranty and a U.S. price of $219.95 for the stainless model at research time.

The TOA-70NAS is not the best choice for a 14-pound turkey or several large pans. Its appeal is that it handles everyday countertop-oven work and adds occasional steak, vegetables, pancakes, or breakfast griddle use without requiring a separate appliance. Its controls and capabilities are less elaborate than Breville’s, but that simplicity can be an advantage for buyers who do not want an app or a long menu of specialty modes.

Rank #3

  • USER-FRIENDLY CONTROLS & 7 ACCESSORIES – 30-minute timer with removable crumb/drip tray, bake pan, air fry mesh tray, and wire rack for easy cleanup. Use drip tray when cooking and keep food clear of heating element. See User Manual for proper use.

Why choose it

  • Lowest listed price among the featured models in the research snapshot.
  • Includes a reversible grill/griddle plate.
  • Provides air fry, convection bake, convection broil, toast, and grill modes.
  • Three-year limited warranty is longer than the two-year warranty listed for the Breville Joule.

What to watch

  • The 0.6-cubic-foot chamber is substantially smaller than the Breville and Ninja XL models.
  • The 3-pound air-fry capacity limits large batches.
  • Confirm that the listing is the current TOA-70NAS or the intended stainless model.

6. Cuisinart Digital Air Fryer Toaster Oven TOA-65NAS: best compact digital air-fryer convection oven

Best for: apartment kitchens, smaller counters, and buyers who want digital controls without moving up to an XL oven.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The Cuisinart TOA-65NAS keeps the 0.6-cubic-foot format but offers a broader digital feature set than the TOA-70NAS. Cuisinart lists air frying for up to 3 pounds of food, six bagel halves, a 4-pound chicken, or a 12-inch pizza. That makes it compact, but not limited to toast and reheating.

Its listed functions and modes include air fry, bake, broil, pizza, roast, toast, bagel, reheat, warm, dual cook, proof, and dehydrate. The oven has an 1,800-watt rating, an 80°F-to-450°F temperature range, adjustable convection-fan speeds, and an interior light. Cuisinart says the baking pan and air-fry basket are dishwasher-safe.

Food Network tested the TOA-65 and TOA-60 in a 2026 Cuisinart comparison. For current shoppers, the important identification detail is the suffix: some older TOA-65 product pages are marked discontinued, while Cuisinart’s current listing is for the TOA-65NAS. The current page listed $299.95 during research, making this compact oven more expensive than the simpler TOA-70NAS despite its smaller capacity.

Why choose it

  • Compact 0.6-cubic-foot footprint with digital controls.
  • Fits a 12-inch pizza or a 4-pound chicken.
  • Offers dual cook, proof, dehydrate, adjustable fan speeds, and an interior light.
  • Dishwasher-safe baking pan and air-fry basket simplify cleanup.

What to watch

  • Use the exact TOA-65NAS model number; older TOA-65 listings may be discontinued.
  • It costs more than the TOA-70NAS while offering less capacity.
  • It is compact, but a 12-inch pizza and 3-pound air-fry load are still meaningful counter-space requirements.

7. KitchenAid Digital Countertop Oven with Air Fry KCO124BM: best 9-by-13-inch-pan format

Best for: cooks who prioritize a standard 9-by-13-inch pan and conventional sheet-pan meals.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The KitchenAid KCO124BM is worth considering when pan compatibility matters more than app connectivity or the largest possible interior. KitchenAid explicitly lists capacity for a sheet cake, a one-pan dinner, or up to two 3.4-pound chickens. It includes a 9-by-13-inch baking pan, a no-flip air-fry basket, a removable metal drip and crumb tray, and a removable metal rack.

The oven uses Even-Heat convection and a 360-degree air-fry system. KitchenAid lists nine cooking settings and fast preheat. The included 9-by-13-inch pan is the decisive feature for shoppers who regularly cook casseroles, sheet cakes, or one-pan dinners and do not want to adapt recipes to a smaller toaster-oven pan.

Availability requires caution: KitchenAid’s page showed the KCO124BM temporarily out of stock during the August 12, 2026 research snapshot. That does not establish that the model is discontinued, but buyers should confirm live retailer stock and the exact model number before planning around it.

Why choose it

  • Designed around a 9-by-13-inch baking-pan format.
  • Includes a no-flip air-fry basket and removable cleanup components.
  • Fits two small chickens according to KitchenAid’s published specification.
  • Good match for conventional baking and one-pan meals.

What to watch

  • Stock was temporarily unavailable on KitchenAid’s product page at research time.
  • Verify current retailer availability and included accessories.
  • Do not assume that its air-frying results match the Breville model’s independent test results; the testing evidence is not interchangeable.

How to choose the right countertop convection oven

1. Start with the food and pans you actually cook

Capacity labels are not enough. If you routinely bake casseroles, sheet cakes, or one-pan dinners, a model that explicitly supports a 9-by-13-inch pan is more useful than a smaller oven with more presets. The Breville Joule, Breville BOV900, and KitchenAid KCO124BM are the clearest choices for that format based on their published capacities. The Breville models also list room for a 13-inch pizza and a 12-cup muffin tray.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For large roasts, the Breville models list a 14-pound turkey capacity. The Cuisinart TOA-65NAS lists a 4-pound chicken, while KitchenAid lists up to two 3.4-pound chickens. The Cuisinart TOA-70NAS is better understood as a smaller everyday oven with a 3-pound air-fry capacity, not a family-size roasting oven.

2. Measure the counter, not just the appliance

The largest models approach the footprint of a small microwave or compact oven. The Breville BOV900 alone measures 21.4 inches wide, 17.3 inches deep, and 12.7 inches high; the Joule weighs 38.89 pounds. Large Ninja models are likewise designed for family-size cooking and need a substantial permanent location.

Before ordering, measure the available width, depth, height, door-opening area, and storage space for racks and pans. Also check the current manufacturer’s installation and operating instructions for required clearance and placement guidance. A countertop oven that technically fits but cannot be opened or stored conveniently will be frustrating in daily use.

Rank #4
BLACK+DECKER TO3250XSBD 8-Slice Extra Wide Convection Countertop Toaster Oven, Includes Bake Pan, Broil Rack & Toasting Rack, Stainless Steel/Black
  • Fits Most Oven Pans - Use the pans you already have. This spacious oven fits most standard 9”x13” oven pans with handles. That means you can go from straight from oven to table. Plus, the included baking/broiling pan fits perfectly, making it easy to insert and remove food. Toasting rack also included.
  • Convection Heating - The powerful convection fan circulates warm air throughout the oven for fast, even baking. Other functions include: baking, broiling, toasting, and keeping food warm.Dedicated Toast Timer - Get perfect toast every time using the dedicated toast timer. It allows for predictable shade selection with every use.
  • Temperatures in the oven will be lower than your set point. This is due to advanced heating elements used in this oven. Temperature dial settings have been calibrated to provide expected results for most recipes taking into account the advanced heating elements.
  • 60-minute Timer - The 60-minute precision timer features stay-on functionality for longer baking tasks. Dedicated precision toast timer. 3 rack positions for improved cooking flexibility. Removable crumb tray for easy cleaning

3. Decide whether smart features or a temperature probe will change your routine

The Joule is the clearest choice for app-guided recipes, Autopilot, progress monitoring, wireless updates, and voice-assistant compatibility. Those features are useful when you want guided steps or remote progress checks; they are unnecessary if you mainly set a temperature and timer locally.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Ninja’s DT551 takes a different smart approach by adding the Pro Cook system and a temperature probe. That can be more useful than app recipes for roasts and other foods where internal temperature determines doneness. Because the DT501 and DT551 are different listings, verify the suffix and included probe before buying.

4. Compare air-frying evidence carefully

Independent testing favors the Breville BOV900 for fast, even air frying, according to RTINGS. RTINGS also reports very even cooking from the Joule. Ninja emphasizes surrounding convection, while Cuisinart describes its airflow systems and basket-based air-fry modes. These descriptions are not a common laboratory score, so they should not be converted into a claim that every oven produces the same crispness.

For the best results in any model, use the supplied perforated basket when the recipe calls for air frying, leave space around the food, and avoid treating the maximum stated capacity as the ideal capacity for maximum browning. A full basket may cook safely while still producing less crisp food than a lightly loaded one.

5. Compare included accessories, not just preset counts

Accessories can determine whether an oven replaces another appliance. Breville’s BOV900 includes two racks, a pizza pan, a roasting pan, a broil rack, and a mesh air-fry/dehydrate basket. The Joule’s published capacity also supports a muffin tray and large roasts. Ninja’s Prestige Smart XL lists two sheet pans, two wire racks, an air-fry basket, and a roast tray. Cuisinart’s TOA-70NAS includes the reversible grill/griddle plate that makes it distinctive, while the TOA-65NAS lists a dishwasher-safe baking pan and air-fry basket.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

When shopping a marketplace listing, compare the exact box contents with the manufacturer’s page. Bundles can change, especially for Ninja’s DT501 and DT551. If you already own one of these ovens, check compatibility before buying replacement racks, baskets, pans, crumb trays, or muffin trays; accessories are not automatically interchangeable between models.

6. Treat price and stock as moving targets

The research snapshot showed a broad U.S. range: about $219.95 for the Cuisinart TOA-70NAS, $299.95 for the TOA-65NAS, $399.95 for the Breville BOV900, about $499.95 or more for the Joule, and a promotional $229.99 price for the Ninja DT501 against a $349.99 reference price. The DT201 and KitchenAid KCO124BM did not have a reliable current price in the supplied research, and KitchenAid showed the KCO124BM temporarily out of stock.

Use those figures to understand relative positioning, not as permanent prices. Check the live product page, shipping cost, return policy, warranty, model suffix, and included accessories before ordering. A lower price on an older or incomplete bundle may not be a better value than a higher price on the current model with the needed pan or probe.

Which one should you buy?

  • Choose the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro BOV900 if you want the best all-purpose balance of convection cooking, air frying, large capacity, and local controls.
  • Choose the Breville Joule BOV950 if guided recipes, Autopilot, app monitoring, and smart-home compatibility are worth paying more for.
  • Choose the Ninja Prestige Smart XL DT501 or DT551 if you cook large meals or want probe-guided cooking. Confirm whether you are buying the DT551 Pro Cook version.
  • Choose the Ninja Foodi XL Pro DT201 if you want a large, non-smart Ninja oven with strong Consumer Reports test support and two-level cooking.
  • Choose the Cuisinart TOA-70NAS if value and the included grill/griddle plate matter more than maximum capacity.
  • Choose the Cuisinart TOA-65NAS if counter space is limited but you still want digital controls, a 12-inch pizza capacity, and proofing and dehydrating modes.
  • Choose the KitchenAid KCO124BM if a 9-by-13-inch pan is the feature that will determine whether the oven gets used. Confirm that it is in stock first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is an air-fryer toaster oven the same thing as a countertop convection oven?

Not exactly. An air-fryer toaster oven is a countertop convection oven that adds a high-airflow air-fry mode, usually used with a perforated basket. The fan, basket, rack design, and usable capacity affect results, so air-frying performance can differ significantly between models.

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Which models fit a 9-by-13-inch pan?

The Breville Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro and Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro list capacity for a 9-by-13-inch pan, while the KitchenAid KCO124BM is specifically supplied with a 9-by-13-inch baking pan. Do not assume that every large-looking countertop oven accepts that size; check the exact manufacturer’s capacity specification.

What is the difference between the Ninja DT501 and DT551?

The DT551 version adds Ninja’s Pro Cook system and smart temperature-probe functionality. The DT501 is the standard listing referenced in this comparison. Verify the model suffix and the exact included accessories, especially the probe, before purchasing.

Are the prices in this guide guaranteed to be current?

No. The prices and stock notes are U.S. snapshots from research conducted on August 12, 2026. Retail promotions, retailer inventory, bundles, and discontinued or replacement model suffixes can change, so check the live listing before ordering.

The Bottom Line

For most households, buy the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro BOV900 for its unusually complete combination of large capacity, convection cooking, and air frying. Spend more on the Breville Joule BOV950 when smart guidance is genuinely useful. Choose Ninja for large meals and probe-assisted cooking, Cuisinart for lower-cost flexibility or a smaller digital footprint, and KitchenAid when the included 9-by-13-inch-pan format is the deciding requirement.
