Xiaomi’s MIJIA Smart Air Fryer Oven 30L was a China-market countertop appliance, not a newly released global basket-style air fryer. Its crowdfunding campaign began on September 21, 2022, at 749 yuan; the 30-liter oven-format design has three rack positions, upper and lower heating, and MIJIA smart features. The fuller “air fryer oven” name better describes its size and cooking format.
When did the MIJIA 30L launch, and what did it cost?
Xiaomi opened reservations at 10 a.m. China time on September 19, 2022, then started crowdfunding through Xiaomi Mall at 10 a.m. on September 21. The launch report listed September 29 as the expected initial shipping date. IT之家’s reservation report and its crowdfunding report describe the campaign.

These are historical China-market prices, not a current U.S. or international MSRP. A contemporary conversion put 749 yuan at about $106, but that is an exchange-rate snapshot, not a fixed equivalent or a landed import cost.

The Chinese product name, 米家智能空气炸烤箱 30L, is more accurately rendered as “MIJIA Smart Air Fryer Oven 30L.” It is a countertop oven with air-frying capability, racks, and a 30-liter cavity—not a compact appliance with a pull-out frying basket. That distinction matters: it offers room for oven-style cooking and multiple rack levels, but takes up more counter space and may be less convenient for quickly crisping a small portion.

How is it designed to cook?
The six heating tubes place heat above and below the food, while the reported high-speed airflow circulates heat through the cavity. Independent upper and lower temperature settings can be useful when baking or browning foods that need different heat exposure on each side. Two-level cooking may increase capacity, although loading more than one rack can affect airflow and browning; the reports do not establish that every food cooks evenly without rotating trays.

Launch coverage says Xiaomi claimed the airflow could improve degreasing by 15.42%. That is a company-reported product claim, not an independently verified laboratory result or evidence of a particular health benefit. Likewise, the design’s suggested reduction in turning food should be treated as an intended benefit rather than a guarantee across foods and settings.

Do not assume that the Chinese-market appliance, its account region, cloud recipes, or voice controls will work as expected with an overseas app setup.

What should international buyers check?
The verified launch and later retail reports concern mainland China. They do not establish an official international launch, a U.S. purchase page, or a global warranty for this exact 30L model. Anyone considering an import should verify the specific unit and seller rather than relying on generic marketplace specifications.
- Power: Check the voltage and frequency printed on the appliance label, plus plug compatibility. Do not infer overseas electrical compatibility from a listing description.
- Support and returns: Confirm where warranty service is available, who pays return shipping, and whether replacement parts or accessories can be obtained.
- Software: Confirm app-region requirements, language availability, and whether the appliance can be operated manually if cloud or voice features are unavailable.
- Total cost: Add international shipping, import duties, taxes, and marketplace fees to any quoted price.

The dimensions—460 × 424 × 399 mm externally—also make countertop space a practical constraint, before allowing for ventilation. A compact basket fryer may be a better fit for small portions, limited counter space, or buyers who prioritize a simpler appliance over oven versatility.
