Xiaomi launched the MIJIA Mini 3kg Washing Machine in China in September 2022, advertising a “100% mite removal” rate. It was a compact top-loading washer for small, separate loads—not a full-size laundry replacement. The reported launch price was 699 yuan, but that is a historical price, not a current quote, and the available evidence does not establish official U.S. availability. Launch coverage does not provide the testing details needed to treat the mite figure as an independently verified guarantee.
What Xiaomi launched
The product covered here is the original MIJIA Mini 3kg Washing Machine reported on September 26, 2022—not a later Mini 3kg-series or Mini 3kg Pro model. MIJIA is Xiaomi’s smart-home and appliance brand. The original is a compact, top-loading washer with a stated maximum capacity of 3kg. Its reported China launch price was 699 yuan, approximately US$98 at the time; neither that conversion nor launch price should be read as a current selling price.
Xiaomi’s China store has pages for several similarly named Mini 3kg products, including the MIJIA Mini 3kg, a Mini Wash 3kg series, and a Mini 3kg Pro. Similar names do not establish that specifications, features, or prices are interchangeable. Check the exact model before buying.

These figures come from the 2022 launch report. Grade 3 is a Chinese appliance-efficiency classification; it is not a U.S. Energy Star rating and cannot be directly compared with U.S. labels without an equivalent test basis. The reported 57 liters per cycle is also worth weighing against the small load size.

What fits in a 3kg washer?
The launch report gave approximate examples: up to 12 pieces of baby clothing, about eight adult shirts, around 10 adult T-shirts, or roughly 15 pieces of women’s underwear. These are illustrative, not universal load guarantees. Garment weight, fabric, water absorption, and selected program all affect what can be washed effectively.
Think of 3kg as a small, targeted load. This washer could suit a household that regularly separates baby clothes, underwear, socks, or other small items, or someone who needs a secondary washer in a compact space. It is a poor substitute for a household machine if regular loads include towels, bedding, jeans, or mixed family laundry. Do not pack the drum to its stated maximum regardless of what is inside: overloading can impair cleaning and contribute to imbalance.

How to read “100% mite removal”
Xiaomi’s launch claim, as reported, was a 100% mite-removal rate. The available launch coverage does not identify the testing laboratory or standard, mite species, starting and ending counts, water temperature, detergent, textile type, load size, or the specific cycle used. Without that information, readers cannot tell how broadly the number applies or independently assess the result.

The launch report lists a 15-minute quick-wash program, preset washing-time controls, adjustable water levels, a child lock, and a paper lint filter. These may be useful on a compact washer intended for frequent small loads. A paper filter also means buyers should understand its maintenance and replacement requirements rather than assume it works like a full-size machine’s filtration system.

The evidence cited for the original 2022 model does not confirm app control, remote monitoring, drying, sterilization, or hot-water operation. Do not infer those features from later Mijia products or similarly named listings.
Availability and checks before buying
This was a China launch. Xiaomi’s China product pages show that related 3kg models are listed, but the evidence does not establish a current price for the original model or official U.S. distribution. Anyone considering an imported unit should verify the exact model, voltage and plug, controls and documentation language, Xiaomi app-region compatibility if relevant, plumbing connections and drainage, installation clearances, warranty coverage, local service and parts, shipping, and import costs. These are buyer checks, not confirmed defects of the original machine.
A compact footprint does not make a washer installation-free: it still needs a suitable power supply, water inlet, drain arrangement, and stable location. No dryer capability is established for the original model, so plan for separate drying.
