Xiaomi’s Mijia Washing Machine Pro Super Electrolysis Smart Dosing Washer Dryer 12kg pairs a 12kg wash capacity with a smaller 9kg drying capacity, automatic detergent and softener dosing, and app-connected controls. That makes it an appealing concept for a busy household short on laundry-room space—but the headline capacity does not mean you can wash and dry a full 12kg load in one go. The model launched in China in January 2026, and wider availability, including in the United States, has not been verified.
What Xiaomi launched
This is a washer-dryer combo, not a washer-only machine: the full product name is the Mijia Washing Machine Pro Super Electrolysis Smart Dosing Washer Dryer 12kg. Xiaomi’s January 2026 China launch combined a manufacturer-rated 12kg wash capacity, 9kg drying capacity, and a maximum spin speed of 1,200rpm. It was reported for sale through Chinese retail platforms, including JD.com (launch specifications and price; reported JD listing).
The exact model name matters. Xiaomi has released several different 12kg Mijia laundry machines, including washer-only products and other washer-dryer models. Specs such as a 610mm depth reported for a separate 2025 model should not be assumed to apply to this Pro.
Why the capacity could work for a household
A 12kg wash rating gives families more room for substantial loads—think towels, bedding, denim, or a week’s everyday clothing—and may mean fewer wash cycles. It is a manufacturer-rated capacity, not a promise that every type of laundry can be packed to the maximum. Bulky items need room to move, and their care-label instructions still determine which cycle and load size are suitable.

The more important number for a wash-and-dry routine is 9kg: the drying capacity. A full 12kg wash load can exceed what the dryer is rated to handle. You may need to take some items out before drying or dry the load in stages. That difference is common in washer-dryers, but it changes the real-world workflow: the machine can wash a large load, yet its largest wash load is not necessarily a single uninterrupted wash-and-dry load.
Features that matter more than the smart label
The machine reportedly has 31 wash-and-care modes, including wool, down jackets, steam refresh, light dry cleaning, fragrance care, a 12-minute quick wash, and low-temperature drying. A long program list is not automatically a major advantage; the value depends on whether useful options are easy to select and suit the fabrics you wash.
- Automatic dosing: Dual reservoirs dispense detergent and softener or disinfectant, with Xiaomi describing dosing that adjusts to load weight and soil level. This can reduce measuring and make routine washes simpler. Reservoirs still need refilling, special detergents or programs may call for manual dosing, and automatic settings may not suit people who prefer precise custom amounts.
- Quick and fabric-specific cycles: A 12-minute quick wash may help with suitable, lightly soiled items; it should not be treated as a substitute for a full cycle on a large or heavily soiled load. Wool, down-jacket, and refresh modes may be useful when they match the item’s care instructions.
- Scheduling and status checks: Mi Home/Xiaomi Home connectivity is reported to support remote monitoring, scheduling, completion notifications, and voice control through Xiaomi smart speakers. These are conveniences, not a reason to overlook capacity, installation, or service support.
- Drying management: Xiaomi-reported product information puts drying temperatures at approximately 55–65°C and describes high airflow. Low-temperature drying may suit some items, but can take longer; these figures are not independent drying-performance tests.
Xiaomi estimates the dosing supply may last about a month under its stated usage assumptions. Actual refill frequency depends on detergent concentration, load size, wash frequency, and selected programs.

Super Electrolysis: promising claims, not a household guarantee
Xiaomi describes its “Super Electrolysis” system as generating active oxygen through electrolysis to help with stain removal, whitening, and color protection, alongside steam-based hygiene features. Published reports cite claims including removal of more than 20 types of stains, 99.999% bacterial and viral removal, 100% mite removal, and four-times stronger color protection (IT之家 launch report).

Those figures should be read as manufacturer or reported test claims, not independently verified results for every load. Fabric, cycle, load size, detergent, and test conditions matter. They do not establish that every wash is sterilized or that the machine provides a medical or allergy-treatment benefit. The feature may be useful, but the headline percentages alone are not enough to judge how well it performs in an ordinary home.
Installation and buying across borders
The exact Pro model’s dimensions and local installation requirements should be confirmed from the seller or product documentation before purchase. Do not use dimensions from another Xiaomi 12kg model as a substitute. Check the actual appliance and your laundry space for:
- Opening width, height, and depth, plus the depth needed for hoses and connections.
- Door swing and clear space in front for loading and unloading.
- Water supply, drain location, electrical rating, frequency, and plug compatibility.
- Floor strength, leveling, heat clearance, and the delivery route through doors or stairs.
- Local installation, returns, warranty coverage, and access to replacement parts.
These are especially important if importing. A China-market appliance may not match local electrical or plumbing arrangements, and warranty service, manuals, parts, account-region support, or app functions may be limited outside China. These are practical import risks, not confirmed defects in this model. Xiaomi itself notes that product availability varies by region (Xiaomi regional smart-appliance information).

Mi Home/Xiaomi Home features may also depend on account region, Wi-Fi compatibility, language support, cloud availability, and compatible Xiaomi devices. Do not assume that a China-market model will pair or operate identically in another country.

China price—and what is known elsewhere
The reported China launch price was ¥3,528. IT之家 reported a subsidized price of ¥2,999 and a January 16 sales date; that subsidy is specific to China and should not be read as a general international price (IT之家 report). No verified U.S. launch or U.S. retail price was found in the available reporting. Shipping, tax, import fees, installation, and support can make an imported appliance a very different proposition from its China launch price.
Xiaomi’s documented European laundry rollout concerned a separate 9kg Mijia Front Load Washer Dryer Pro, reported at €579—not this 12kg China-market model (European model report). Buyers should confirm regional availability and support for their country rather than treating the two machines as interchangeable.
Who should consider it?
It is most compelling for a China-based household that needs a large-capacity combo, values automatic dosing, and can get local installation and service. Existing Xiaomi smart-home users may also appreciate the connected controls, provided the appliance and account are supported in their region.
It is a harder sell if you need a verified U.S. product, dependable local warranty and parts, independent performance testing, or the throughput of separate machines. It may also be a poor match if you regularly dry full wash loads, have little front clearance, or rely on specialized detergents that do not suit automatic dosing.
Alternatives by household need
- Separate washer and dryer: Better suited to households that need to wash and dry successive loads quickly and have the space. The trade-off is room for two appliances.
- Locally supported washer-dryer combo: An established brand available in your market may offer clearer installation, warranty, and parts support, even if its capacity or feature set differs.
- Washer-only machine: If you already own a dryer or air-dry clothes, a large washer without a drying function may be simpler and better aligned with your needs.
- Xiaomi’s European 9kg model: A more relevant Xiaomi option for some European buyers because regional availability has been reported, but it is a different, smaller-capacity machine.
For construction and renovation planning, treat this like any built-in or laundry-room appliance: confirm the exact model dimensions, connection locations, door clearance, electrical requirements, and service arrangements before designing cabinetry or committing to an import. “Built-in friendly” is not the same as guaranteed to fit a particular opening.
