Xiaomi launched the MIJIA Essence Wash 10kg washer-dryer, model XHQG100MJ103, in China in late May 2024. It combines a 10kg washing capacity with sensor-controlled drying, app features and an advertised quick-wash cycle of under 36 minutes. The reported launch promotion was 2,299 yuan, or 2,179 yuan for JD Plus members. That was a China-market price—not a U.S. price—and there is no confirmed U.S. launch or current international availability for this exact model.

These specifications and feature descriptions come from launch coverage that reported Xiaomi and product-listing information. They are not independent performance-test results. The reports identify a 10kg washing capacity but do not confirm the drying capacity, so buyers should not assume it can dry a full 10kg load.
What Essence Wash is claimed to do
Xiaomi’s Essence quick-wash system reportedly pre-activates detergent ingredients and uses high-pressure direct injection, with a claim of producing 1.5-times concentrated “essence.” Xiaomi said the advertised quick-wash program can finish in under 36 minutes and can reduce washing time by up to 45% compared with traditional machines. The company also claimed about 33% less water use and 40% less electricity use.
Those percentages are manufacturer claims, not guaranteed savings for every load or program. The comparison baseline is not specified in the available reporting. The under-36-minute figure applies to the advertised quick-wash function; it is not a stated duration for a normal wash or a complete wash-and-dry cycle.

How the smart drying works—and what remains unknown
Reportedly, a high-precision sensor monitors temperature and drying time, and the machine is designed to stop when it detects that clothing is dry. The product information also describes low-temperature gentle drying at 55°C–65°C and airflow of 14.5m/s. These are reported operating characteristics, not independent measurements of how evenly or quickly the appliance dries.
Sensor-based stopping does not guarantee that every item in a mixed or tightly packed load will be evenly dry. Load size, fabric, spin speed, ambient humidity and lint-filter condition can all affect drying time and results. The available launch reports do not give a model-specific drying-load rating, a complete wash-and-dry cycle time, or independent moisture-retention or fabric-care results. Check the product label or manual for the exact drying capacity and cycle limits before buying.
App controls, XiaoAI and other features
Reported smart features include remote scheduling and program control through the MIJIA app, XiaoAI voice control, integration with other Xiaomi AIoT devices, voice reminders through an XiaoAI speaker and OTA software updates. Dual-channel intelligent detergent dispensing is also listed.

For hardware, launch reports list a 525mm drum, an ultra-thin body design, a direct-drive motor and drum-cleaning support up to 95°C. Coverage describes the DD motor as helping stability and reducing noise, but gives no independently verified noise rating for this exact model. Drum cleaning at up to 95°C is a feature, not a claim that all wash programs run at that temperature.
China launch price and availability
The reported introductory price was 2,299 yuan on JD.com, reduced to 2,179 yuan for JD Plus members. Dollar amounts published at launch were approximate conversions, not U.S. retail prices. These were promotional prices reported in 2024; they do not establish the model’s current price or stock.
The launch was in China. No U.S. launch, U.S. certification, international model number, local warranty or current global availability for XHQG100MJ103 has been verified. Xiaomi’s current China pages include other 10kg washer-dryer models, but those listings do not prove that this Essence Wash model remains on sale. Do not treat the different XHQG100MJ01 as the same machine: Xiaomi’s specification page for that model lists its own specifications, including a 6kg drying capacity, which should not be transferred to XHQG100MJ103.
What to check before importing one
A low converted launch price does not by itself make a China-market appliance a practical purchase elsewhere. Before ordering, confirm the following for the exact model:

- Electrical compatibility: Check the appliance label and manual for voltage, frequency, plug and installation requirements. Do not assume a plug adapter makes a different electrical specification compatible.
- Drying capacity: Get the rated drying load in writing from the model-specific documentation; the 10kg figure reported for this product is its washing capacity.
- App and language support: Verify that your account region and app can add the appliance, and that the controls, notifications and voice features are usable in your language. A China-market firmware build may present region or service limitations.
- Warranty, service and parts: Confirm who will repair the machine, where replacement parts come from, and whether the seller’s warranty is valid in your country.
- Delivery and installation: Check shipping, customs, plumbing and installation arrangements, as well as return terms if the machine arrives damaged or cannot be connected.
- Detergent system: Ask which detergents the automatic dispenser supports and what cleaning it requires to prevent residue or buildup.
If a listing advertises 10kg drying, ask the seller for a model-specific manual or product-label photo. If the MIJIA app cannot find the machine or voice controls are unavailable, possible import-related causes include account or app region, Wi-Fi compatibility, firmware and language support; the launch reports do not establish that any one of these problems is specific to this model.
Who should consider it?
For a buyer in China already using MIJIA products, the combination of washing and drying, app scheduling and sensor-based drying could be useful where space for separate appliances is limited. The quick-wash and efficiency claims may also be appealing, with the important caveat that they are Xiaomi’s claims rather than independently verified results.
For buyers elsewhere—particularly anyone who needs local warranty service, straightforward installation, documented electrical compatibility or dependable integration with a local smart-home setup—the unverified availability and support make this exact model a risky import. A locally sold washer-dryer with a published drying capacity, regional certification, repair coverage and return protection is likely to be the more practical choice. Xiaomi’s Mijia washer-dryer and Clean Pro 10kg pages show other China-market models, not confirmed substitutes with identical features or specifications.
