Xiaomi launched the Mijia Water Purifier 2 1200G in China on February 26, 2026. It is an under-sink reverse-osmosis system rated for a reported 3.2 litres of clean water per minute, with a claimed RO-membrane life of up to seven years. The stated Chinese retail price was ¥1,999, reduced to ¥1,499 for the launch promotion, and open sales began on March 7, 2026.
The important qualification is that the seven-year claim applies to the RO filtration component under specified conditions—not necessarily to the complete purifier or every consumable. The PPC pre-filter still requires replacement, and the product remains a China-market appliance with unresolved questions about overseas plumbing compatibility, app-region support, replacement parts and warranty service.
What is the Mijia Water Purifier 2 1200G?
The Mijia Water Purifier 2 1200G is Xiaomi’s high-flow, under-sink RO water purifier for the Chinese market. It combines a PPC pre-filter, a high-precision RO membrane, a smart faucet with a built-in TDS display and connectivity with Xiaomi’s Mijia/Mi Home ecosystem.
The “1200G” name describes the purifier’s nominal flow class. It does not mean the machine contains a 1,200-gallon storage tank or that it will deliver 1,200 gallons in every household. Launch coverage reports a clean-water flow of 3.2 L/min, although real output depends on inlet pressure, water temperature, filter loading, membrane condition and installation.

Xiaomi also promotes its “Zero Stagnant Water 3.0” system, which is intended to reduce water remaining in the internal water pathway between uses. That is a design feature, not proof that every internal surface remains sterile indefinitely; users still need to follow the manufacturer’s flushing and sanitation guidance.
What the seven-year RO claim actually means
The headline feature is a long-life RO membrane, not a maintenance-free seven-year purifier.
Reports describe the seven-year figure as the expected life of the RO system or membrane under Xiaomi’s stated operating conditions. It should not be interpreted as a guarantee that the pump, faucet, seals, electronics, tubing or other components will last seven years without service. It also does not eliminate replacement of the separate PPC cartridge, which protects the RO stage from sediment and other incoming contaminants.

How the seven-year figure compares with the rated capacity
The reported total rated purification capacity is 6,500 litres. If that volume were spread evenly across seven years, the average would be approximately:

6,500 litres ÷ 2,555 days = about 2.54 litres per day.
This is a useful way to understand the figures, but it is an inference rather than a stated promise that every household can use exactly 2.54 litres per day for seven years. The capacity and lifespan figures may be based on different testing conditions, and the product’s actual service interval depends on the water entering the system and how much water the household uses.
Filtration and water-quality claims
Reported filtration features include:
- A 12-page or high-precision RO membrane
- A PPC pre-filter cartridge
- A claimed ability to remove 145 types of pollutants
- No scale inhibitors in the output water, according to Xiaomi’s reported product claim
- “Maternal and infant” or “baby-grade” water positioning
The 145-pollutant figure is a manufacturer claim. It should not be rewritten as proof that every listed contaminant is removed in every installation or at every stage of filter life. The available coverage also does not identify independent test data for rejection rates, PFAS, pesticides, viruses, bacteria, noise, wastewater production or long-term membrane durability.
Similarly, “baby-grade” or “maternal and infant” language should not be treated as a universal safety certification unless the certifying organisation, test standard, certificate number and scope are identified. Those details were not established in the available product coverage.
Important: TDS is a narrow indicator of dissolved solids. A low TDS reading does not independently prove that water is free of bacteria, PFAS, pesticides, viruses or every other contaminant. The faucet display is useful for monitoring changes over time, but it is not a complete laboratory water-quality test.

Xiaomi’s official China product listing confirms the product listing, but the fetched page did not expose a complete, dependable specification table or a current live price. Check the listing, manual and package contents before buying.
Smart faucet and Mijia app
The included smart faucet is reported to have touch controls, an IPX7 waterproof rating and a display for real-time TDS readings. The purifier supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi using IEEE 802.11b/g/n; reported coverage does not indicate 5GHz support.
Mijia app functions reportedly include water-quality information, filter-life monitoring and maintenance alerts. This makes the system potentially useful for households that already use Xiaomi’s smart-home platform, but app support is a practical risk for importers.
- Check whether the purifier can be added to a non-mainland-China Mi Home account.
- Confirm whether the Chinese Mi Home app or a China-region setting is required.
- Do not assume that app pairing is required for ordinary dispensing.
- Do not assume that every dispensing or maintenance function can be controlled remotely; the available reporting supports remote monitoring more clearly than full remote control.
- Confirm whether replacement-filter purchasing is available in the buyer’s country.
If Wi-Fi is unavailable, the local faucet display and basic operation may still be usable, but the exact offline behaviour should be confirmed in Xiaomi’s manual before purchase.

Price, sale timing and availability
The reported Chinese retail price was ¥1,999, with an initial pre-sale or launch price of ¥1,499. The first full-channel sale was reported for March 7, 2026.
A separate June 16, 2026 report described a limited 618 and 88VIP-related promotion at approximately ¥826–¥828. That was a time-limited promotion, not a dependable current price. Currency conversions also omit shipping, taxes, customs charges, payment fees and installation costs.
The product was launched in China. No verified evidence in the available sources establishes a US launch, US certification, US-compatible plumbing package, US warranty or official global retail availability. The launch coverage describes it as intended for municipal tap water meeting China’s GB 5749 standard. A China purchase page is not the same as local support in another country.
Installation and compatibility checklist
Before importing or installing the purifier, verify all of the following:
- Source water: Confirm that the incoming water is appropriate for the unit. The reported intended supply is municipal tap water meeting China’s GB 5749 standard.
- Pressure: Measure inlet pressure and compare it with the reported 0.1–0.4 MPa inlet range. Weak pressure can cause slow flow, alarms or poor recovery; excessive pressure can increase leak and component risks.
- Drain connection: RO systems produce wastewater and need a suitable drain connection. The available coverage does not provide this model’s pure-to-waste ratio.
- Cabinet space: Allow more than the body dimensions of 163 × 445 × 379 mm for tubing, connectors, ventilation and future filter servicing.
- Electrical supply: Confirm voltage, frequency and plug requirements from the Chinese manual before connecting an imported unit.
- Faucet installation: Check whether the sink or countertop needs a new hole and whether the supplied fittings match local plumbing.
- Replacement parts: Confirm reliable access to PPC cartridges, the RO assembly, faucet parts and seals before treating the seven-year claim as a meaningful ownership benefit.
- App region: Check whether the purifier can be registered and monitored from the intended Mi Home region.
- Warranty: Obtain written confirmation that the seller or Xiaomi will provide service outside mainland China.
- Water chemistry: If the supply is from a private well or has unusual hardness, iron, sediment or microbial contamination, obtain appropriate testing and pretreatment advice.
Who should consider it?
The purifier is most plausible for a buyer in China who has compatible municipal water, suitable pressure and drain access, and a reliable way to buy replacement cartridges. Its strongest practical advantages are the reported 3.2 L/min flow, compact under-sink format, local TDS display and Mijia integration.
It is a much riskier choice for an overseas buyer who needs local warranty support, certified performance under local standards, guaranteed filter availability or a straightforward installation using domestic fittings. A locally sold RO system may be the safer practical purchase even if it lacks Xiaomi’s app and smart faucet.
