There is no universal fuse location for Samsung washing machines, and many models do not have a simple user-replaceable fuse behind an exterior panel. If your washer is completely dead, check the outlet, breaker or RCD/GFCI, plug and cord first. Only the documentation for your exact model can establish whether it has an internal fuse and where it is.
Check the power supply before opening the washer
A washer that will not turn on may have a household power problem rather than a failed internal fuse. Samsung’s U.S. troubleshooting guidance specifies a grounded 120-volt, three-prong outlet on a 20-amp circuit; that guidance is for the U.S. and should not be applied to other countries’ electrical systems. - Confirm the washer is connected to its intended wall outlet. Remove an extension cord or surge protector if one is in use.
- Test the outlet with a lamp or phone charger. A working indicator on another device is a useful first check, not a substitute for an electrician’s diagnosis if the outlet seems damaged.
- Inspect the plug and visible cord for looseness, cuts, scorching, melting or signs that power changes when the cord is moved. Stop using the washer if you see damage.
- At the electrical panel, switch the washer’s breaker fully off and then back on. If the circuit has an RCD or GFCI, check whether it has tripped and reset it only if safe to do so.
- On FlexWash or other two-compartment models with separate Power buttons, make sure you are using the button for the compartment you want to operate.
Samsung’s UK no-power guidance also starts with the socket and circuit checks and warns against bypassing safety devices.

The word can refer to different components in the home or inside the appliance. They are not interchangeable, and a washer that has lost power does not prove that any particular fuse has failed.

- Household breaker or fuse: In the home’s electrical panel, not inside the washer. A tripping breaker or RCD/GFCI can indicate a fault that needs attention.
- Plug fuse: Used in some countries, including the UK. It is part of a fused plug, not a universal feature of Samsung washers; a standard U.S. washer plug generally does not contain one.
- Thermal fuse or cut-off: An internal safety device designed to open if a protected area overheats. It is generally not resettable.
- Board-mounted fuse or fusible component: A small protective part on or near control or power circuitry. It may not be a simple plug-in cartridge and may not be intended for user replacement.
- Noise or EMI filter: A power-input component that filters electrical interference. A failed filter can cause a no-power symptom and may be mistaken for a fuse.
Samsung parts and support pages demonstrate that model-specific thermal-fuse assemblies and repair documentation exist, but they do not establish that every Samsung washer has one. Examples include a specific Samsung thermal-fuse assembly listing, and support pages for the WW25FG5B34BEAC and WA55A7300AE/US models. Verify parts and procedures against your own model.
Where an internal fuse might be
If a particular model has an internal protective fuse, its location depends on the design. It may be near the incoming power connection, on or near the main control or power board, or integrated into a thermal-protection assembly near a heat-producing component. Some designs may have no separately replaceable fuse; the fault could instead involve the power filter, wiring, control board or another part of the power circuit.

An older Samsung service document describes a 128°C thermal fuse at the bottom of a particular washer’s tub area. That is evidence about that design only, not a location or rating for modern Samsung washers generally: the model-specific service document.

Find the exact model before looking for parts
Samsung uses different boards, filters, wiring, protective devices and procedures across models and markets. Find the complete model code on the rating label; depending on the cabinet, it may be around a front-loader’s door opening, on the rear or side, or beneath or around a top-loader’s lid. The manual or purchase record may also show it. There is no single label location for every washer.
- Record the full model code and, if available, the serial number.
- Open Samsung’s U.S. washer support page or the relevant Samsung support site for your country.
- Look up the model’s user manual and any available repair guide or parts diagram. Confirm a part number and compatibility before ordering.
A part listing for one Samsung appliance is not proof that it fits your washer. For example, the DA47-00095F listing above is a specific assembly, not a universal Samsung washer fuse.

Try a power cycle, not a fuse replacement
Samsung’s reset guidance describes a power cycle rather than a dedicated reset button for most washers. Unplug the washer, or switch off its breaker, wait approximately 1–5 minutes, then restore power and try it again. The interval comes from Samsung’s guidance; it is not a repair for a failed component. See Samsung’s washer reset instructions.

A power cycle is non-invasive. Replacing an internal fuse is a repair that requires identifying the right component and addressing why it opened. If a fuse opens again, stop: an underlying short, overheating condition, damaged wiring or failed component may still be present. Repeated resets when an error returns can also make diagnosis harder by erasing useful error history.

Safety limits for inspection or testing
Removing a cabinet panel exposes electrical components. If you are not experienced with mains-powered appliance repair, leave internal inspection to a qualified technician. Samsung manuals warn against unauthorized repair and improper fuse substitution; its Laundry Combo manual says not to replace a fuse with wire or another improper substitute.
- Disconnect the washer from power before removing any panel. If unplugging is difficult or unsafe, switch off the correct breaker instead.
- Shut off the water supply if the washer must be moved, and keep it upright where possible.
- Do not touch exposed circuitry immediately after disconnecting power; capacitors can retain charge.
- Photograph connector positions before disconnecting anything. Do not work on an energized washer.
- Never bypass a fuse, door lock, interlock, ground connection or other safety device. Never substitute foil, wire, a nail, an improvised part or a higher-rated fuse.
A competent repairer can test a disconnected fuse for continuity, sometimes after isolating it from the circuit. No continuity indicates an open fuse; it does not identify why it opened or prove that the rest of the washer is sound. A continuity result should not be treated as a complete diagnosis.
Match the symptom to the next step

When to call for service
Request professional help if the outlet works but the washer remains completely dead, a breaker or RCD/GFCI trips, you notice burning or melted material, the cord is damaged, water may have reached electronics, or a protective component has failed more than once. Service is also the better choice if the relevant component is soldered to a board, the diagnosis is uncertain, or the washer is under warranty. Samsung’s U.S. troubleshooting guide recommends service when basic power checks do not restore operation.
Have the model and serial number ready, and tell the technician whether the outlet works, what circuit protection did, and whether you saw or smelled damage. You can use the Samsung support page for model manuals, warranty information and repair-request options. Avoid opening the appliance while a warranty claim is being handled unless Samsung authorizes it.
Decide whether repair is worthwhile
Do not buy a board or fuse solely because the washer is dead. A failed outlet, cord, filter, harness or other circuit component can produce a similar symptom. Once a technician identifies the fault, compare the estimate with the washer’s age, warranty coverage, part availability and the likely cost of other repairs. A board replacement can cost substantially more than a small protective component, and the total depends on the model and local labor; there is no reliable universal repair-versus-replace threshold.
