Vivoo Smart Toilet is a clip-on device for an existing toilet that analyzes urine for hydration-related information and sends results to the Vivoo app. It was selected by Gadget Flow as a Best of CES 2026 product and featured in Android Headlines’ own Best of CES coverage—not, based on the available information, awarded an official CES Innovation Award. The idea is unusual; the practical questions are fit, recurring app cost, privacy, and how well its readings have been independently validated.
What the Vivoo Smart Toilet does
This is not a replacement toilet or a bathroom renovation. Vivoo’s device attaches inside an existing toilet bowl with a tool-free suction mount. It collects a small urine sample, analyzes it, releases the sample, and sends hydration-related results to the Vivoo app. The company says the app offers guidance and lets users follow patterns over time. An investor post describes the sensing approach as optical measurement of urine specific gravity, but that technical detail is not fully explained on the product page, so it should be treated as an attributed description rather than independently verified performance information.
Vivoo advertises analysis in about 45 seconds on its Smart Toilet information page; the same page also describes results arriving “in minutes.” Those claims are not perfectly aligned. Either way, the product is marketed as a wellness tracker, not a medical-grade diagnosis or substitute for professional evaluation.

Vivoo says Gadget Flow selected the product as a Best of CES 2026 product, and Android Headlines included it in its own Best of CES coverage. These are editorial or publisher recognitions. The available sources do not establish that CES itself gave Vivoo an official CES Innovation Award, so the distinction matters: a media selection is not the same as a CES-administered award or proof of clinical effectiveness.

The device stood out as an unconventional attempt to make routine health tracking passive. It does not require replacing the toilet or, according to the product page, buying filters or cartridges. Those conveniences make the concept more approachable, but an award does not answer whether the readings are accurate enough to guide a user’s decisions.
How it differs from Vivoo’s earlier approach
Android Headlines describes Vivoo’s earlier design as relying on reactive test strips. The CES 2026 device replaces that user-handled strip workflow with an integrated sensor. In principle, that means less manual handling and fewer consumables, with measurement incorporated into ordinary toilet use. It is a meaningful convenience change; it does not by itself prove improved accuracy. The sources reviewed do not provide comparative performance data between the strip and sensor versions.

Fit, phone support, and listed specifications
Vivoo says the device fits most standard residential toilets, but it is not universal. Measure before ordering, especially if your toilet is compact, has an integrated or unusual seat, uses a bidet seat, or has an atypical bowl or rim shape. The company lists a rim width of 32–58 mm and at least 6 mm of clearance between the seat and rim.

The published materials do not fully explain installation, the parking station or scraper’s precise use, or app requirements such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, account setup, internet access for each reading, or multi-user profiles. Check Vivoo’s current instructions for those details rather than assuming they are supported.

At the listed Launch rate, the app costs $35.88 for a full year after the free period, on top of the $99 device fee. At the Standard rate, $5.99 per month is $71.88 per year; a three-year estimate is about $344.64 including the $129 device, before tax and shipping, if that monthly fee stayed unchanged. These calculations assume the listed subscription continues at the same rate. What remains uncertain
The key unanswered question is measurement quality. The reviewed launch and promotional material does not establish clinical validation, accuracy against laboratory testing, error rates, or performance across different users and toilet conditions. It also does not establish how medications that affect urine concentration or appearance, or health conditions involving the kidneys, urinary tract, endocrine system, or cardiovascular system, may affect readings. Treat hydration results as wellness information—not a diagnosis, treatment recommendation, or reason to delay medical care.
There are practical uncertainties too. Vivoo says the unit is hygienic, safe for daily use, and rinses clean with flushing; these are manufacturer claims, not independent hygiene testing. The available material does not set out a full cleaning schedule or explain how to manage mineral buildup, hard water, approved cleaning agents, or shared-bathroom use. Those details matter for a device that stays in a toilet bowl.

Privacy deserves the same scrutiny as physical fit. Vivoo broadly says data is encrypted and stored securely and that users remain in control, but those statements alone do not explain retention, sharing, deletion, account requirements, or whether data is used for analytics or product development. Review the company’s current privacy terms and app permissions before sending bathroom-derived health data to an app. Do not assume HIPAA compliance or end-to-end encryption from general security language.
Who might consider it?
It may appeal to quantified-self enthusiasts, early adopters who want passive hydration tracking, and people willing to pay an ongoing app fee if the measurement proves useful to them. It is a poor fit for anyone seeking a clinically validated diagnostic device, a household with incompatible toilet geometry or an unsupported phone, a privacy-sensitive buyer, or someone who does not want a recurring subscription.
If your goal is simply to drink more water, manual logging or a smart water bottle may be simpler, though neither measures urine. If you suspect dehydration or have a health concern, seek medical advice rather than relying on an unvalidated consumer tracker. For buyers intrigued by the concept but unsure about accuracy, waiting for independent testing is a reasonable choice.
