During the final day of Prime Day 2025, Engadget reported a Prime-member price of $140 for a Roomba robot vacuum-and-mop combo, down from a stated $275. That was a $135 reduction—about 49% off—but the promotion was reported on July 11, 2025 and should not be treated as a current deal without checking a live retailer listing.
The exact model was not named in the deal report. Its listed features most closely match the Roomba Combo Essential, although that identification remains an informed match rather than a confirmed retailer SKU.

According to Engadget’s July 11, 2025 report, Prime members could buy an unnamed Roomba Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo for $140 instead of $275.

The original article also referred to a battery lasting up to “120 hours.” That is almost certainly an error: iRobot’s official specification for the likely matching Combo Essential says up to 120 minutes.
What the Roomba Combo Essential appears to do
The feature set corresponds most closely to iRobot’s entry-level Roomba Combo Essential. The official product page lists a four-stage cleaning system, three suction levels, three water-flow levels, app controls, scheduling, and automatic return to the charging station when the battery is low.

When water is in the bin and the mop pad is attached, iRobot says the robot can vacuum and mop at the same time. That is a basic combination workflow—not the more elaborate vacuum-first, mop-second automation available on some higher-priced models.

Its mopping is for maintenance, not deep scrubbing
This type of robot is best understood as a light wet-maintenance mop. It can help with dust, footprints and light surface grime between manual cleanings. It is not a substitute for scrubbing dried spills, grease, textured tile or persistent stains.
Compared with premium floor-washing robots, the likely deal model does not appear to offer rotating mop pads, substantial downward scrubbing pressure, heated pad washing or automatic drying. You should also expect to fill the water tank, attach the pad, remove it after cleaning and wash it yourself.
Check the exact model’s instructions before using any cleaning solution. Do not assume that ordinary household floor cleaner is approved. Also verify how the robot handles rugs and carpets; the deal listing was not identified clearly enough to support a blanket claim that it will automatically lift or avoid a wet mop pad.

Because the deal article did not identify a model number, these are cautious expectations based on the likely Combo Essential configuration rather than confirmed details of the original retailer listing:
- No automatic dirt-disposal dock
- No automatic mop-pad washing or drying
- No automatic water refilling
- No premium object recognition
- No high-end rotating or vibrating mop system
- No completely hands-off maintenance
Returning to a charging station is not the same as emptying its dustbin. Owners should still expect to empty the bin, refill or empty the water tank, wash and dry the microfiber pad, clean the brush and edge-sweeping brush, inspect the filter and keep the sensors and charging contacts clear. Follow the model-specific manual for maintenance intervals.
How capable is the navigation?
The reported robot uses onboard sensors to help navigate around furniture and avoid stairs, and iRobot describes the likely Combo Essential as cleaning in methodical rows. That should be adequate for straightforward rooms with reasonably clear floors.

Look elsewhere if you need a genuinely hands-off appliance, heavy carpet cleaning or powerful stain removal. It is also a poor fit for large, cluttered homes where a maximum runtime of 120 minutes may not cover the entire floor plan in one run.
