Food Network Kitchen’s review updated February 5, 2026 names four stovetop kettle picks—not five: OXO Brew Classic Tea Kettle, Cuisinart Aura Tea Kettle, Fellow Clyde Kettle, and Fellow Stagg Pour-Over Kettle. It reports testing more than 10 kettles, but the accessible review does not identify a fifth winner, so this guide does not invent one. The right choice depends on your cooktop, usual water quantity, and whether you value a whistle, comfortable handle, or controlled pour.
How these stovetop kettle picks were evaluated
Food Network Kitchen says reviewers Beth Lipton and Jill Novatt tested more than 10 stovetop kettles. Their reported method used three cups of room-temperature water in each kettle and considered time to boil, whistle, handle temperature, pouring control, dripping, emptying, cleaning ease, and cleaning instructions. These are the review team’s observations, not independent test results for this article. The review does not provide exact boil times, and its relative speed findings should not be treated as universal across burners, fill levels, or homes. Read Food Network Kitchen’s review.

OXO Brew Classic Tea Kettle — Best Overall
Food Network’s testers found the OXO boiled quickly, whistled clearly, and poured without dripping. Its handle stayed cool enough to touch after boiling without an oven mitt, according to the review. It weighs 2.6 pounds. The testers noted that rivets could make cleaning more difficult. The review displayed a $48 Amazon price when updated; that is a historical listing, not a current price.

The Aura has a stainless-steel body and a button on the handle that opens the spout cap. Food Network reports that it boiled quickly, had a fairly loud whistle, and had a handle cool enough to use without a potholder. Its fixed handle may make filling and cleaning the kettle thoroughly less convenient. It is not induction compatible. The review displayed $44 at Amazon when updated, which should not be taken as today’s price.

Fellow Clyde Kettle — Fastest-Boiling in the review test
Among the models in Food Network’s test, the Clyde boiled fastest. It weighs under two pounds and has a silicone-covered handle the reviewers described as warm but not hot. A metal marble inside the spout helps prevent dripping when the kettle is not being poured; reviewers noticed a light clank as it poured. The Clyde is not induction compatible. Food Network displayed a $99 Amazon price when the review was updated; it is historical, not a live quote.
Fellow Stagg Pour-Over Kettle — Best Gooseneck
The Stagg’s narrow spout is designed for a slower, even pour that can help with pour-over coffee. Fellow lists a 1.0 L capacity, a built-in thermometer, a precision-pour spout, and a counterbalanced handle on its product page. The thermometer marks 195–205°F in red. Food Network’s testers warn that the handle gets hot and recommend a towel or oven mitt. The kettle has no whistle or other indicator to tell you when it reaches a temperature, and it is not induction compatible. The review showed $90 at Amazon when updated; Fellow’s accessed product page listed $89.95. Both are dated listings, not guaranteed current prices or stock.

How to choose a kettle for your kitchen
Match capacity to what you actually heat
Food Network says common stovetop kettle capacities range from 1 to 3 quarts, and that 1–2 quarts is often enough for a few cups. Think about your usual use—one mug, several drinks, or water for a larger household—rather than choosing a larger kettle by default. The Stagg’s manufacturer-listed capacity is 1.0 L; the review does not state capacities for the other three picks.
Check cooktop compatibility by exact model
Do not infer induction compatibility from appearance or a broad material description. Food Network advises checking the manufacturer’s product information or packaging. It specifically identifies the Cuisinart Aura, Fellow Clyde, and Fellow Stagg as not induction compatible; it does not state the OXO model’s compatibility in the reviewed material. Magnetized stainless steel and enameled cast iron can be suitable for induction in general, but model-specific guidance takes precedence.

Consider heat, pouring, and the signal you need
A cool-feeling handle, a whistle, a temperature gauge, and a controlled spout solve different problems. The OXO and Aura testers found the handles comfortable to use after boiling; the Clyde’s silicone-covered handle felt warm, not hot. Those are review observations rather than a guarantee for every hand, burner, or heating cycle. The Stagg’s handle can get hot and its thermometer requires you to look at it; it does not whistle or otherwise alert you when the water reaches temperature. For pour-over coffee, its narrow spout offers more controlled flow than a conventional spout.
Think about filling and cleaning access
A kettle that is easy to fill and reach inside may be simpler to clean. The OXO’s rivets were a potential cleaning complication for testers, while the Aura’s fixed handle could impede filling and thorough cleaning. Check how the lid opens and whether you can comfortably access the interior, then follow the cleaning instructions for the specific model.

Cooktop and care questions
Can you use a stovetop kettle on all cooktops?
No. Compatibility depends on the kettle and cooktop. For these four models, Food Network explicitly says the Aura, Clyde, and Stagg are not induction compatible; it does not establish the OXO’s compatibility. Verify the exact model with its manufacturer or on its packaging before buying. As a separate example, Le Creuset UK says its Cloche and Traditional kettle models (2.1 L) and Kone (1.6 L) work on electric, gas, induction, and ceramic glass cooktops. Those specifications apply to the models in its UK guide and should not be assumed to describe U.S. variants. See Le Creuset UK’s kettle guide.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteIs it OK to heat milk in a stovetop kettle?
Food Network says kettle manuals it reviewed nearly all limited use to water. Milk can scorch, stain, or bubble over, and heating liquids other than water may void a warranty. Use a saucepan for milk, and consult the instructions for your kettle.

Can stovetop kettles go in the dishwasher?
Follow the instructions for your model. Le Creuset’s UK guide says its listed kettles are not dishwasher safe and recommends gentle hand-washing with warm water and mild cleaning agents. It also says not to heat those kettles empty, leave them unattended, or let them boil dry. These are Le Creuset’s instructions for the models in that guide, not a substitute for another manufacturer’s care directions.
