Food Network’s June 12, 2026 review names six category winners from its reported test of 16 ceramic cookware sets. Its picks range from coated-aluminum nonstick sets to fully ceramic cookware; the right one depends on your cooktop, oven needs, household size, and preferred cooking feel.
Six ceramic cookware sets at a glance
These are Food Network’s category awards, not a universal ranking or a new set of tests. The reviewer assessed the sets’ contents and handling, then cooked eggs, fish, vegetables, tomato sauce, and pasta before hand-cleaning the pieces. The table summarizes the review’s stated tradeoffs; oven limits and induction compatibility refer to the named sets as described in that review.

Start with your cooktop and oven
Check compatibility for the exact model before ordering: Calphalon and Xtrema are not induction-compatible in this review, while the other four picks are. Match the cookware’s stated oven rating to your recipes, and confirm whether lids and included accessories share that rating; the review’s listed limits do not establish the rating of every individual component.

Compare what you will actually use
A piece count can include more than pots and pans. Beautiful by Drew’s advertised 12 pieces include four protectors, while Caraway’s seven-piece set includes a magnetic rack and canvas lid holder. Compare the actual pan and pot sizes against your cooking routine rather than treating the headline count as a measure of cooking capacity.
Choose the material behavior that suits you
“Ceramic” can mean a ceramic coating over metal or cookware made of ceramic throughout. Good Housekeeping’s separate lab review explains that coated aluminum tends to be lighter and faster-heating, coated stainless tends to be heavier and sturdier, and fully ceramic cookware can be heavy and slower to heat. That distinction matters for lifting, heat response, and how quickly a pan reacts when you adjust the burner. Good Housekeeping’s ceramic cookware comparison also evaluates heat distribution, steak searing, egg release, simmering and sauce behavior, balance, handle comfort, and cleanup.

What the reviews tested—and what they do not establish
Food Network reports that it examined unboxing, included components, weight, handles, lid fit, storage, and manufacturer care and oven guidance across 16 sets. Its cooking trials included fried and scrambled eggs without added oil, searing skin-on salmon, sautéing cauliflower and potatoes, simmering tomato sauce, boiling water, cooking pasta, and hand-cleaning the cookware. It observed that some pans browned or scorched fish unevenly at higher heat.

These published tests help compare cooking behavior, but short-duration trials do not establish a coating’s long-term lifespan. Neither set of findings supports a guaranteed service life or a broad claim that every ceramic cookware product is “toxic-free.”

Care that can help protect a ceramic coating
- Use lower heat where practical; high heat can be hard on nonstick performance.
- Prefer wood, silicone, or nylon-tipped utensils instead of metal tools that can scratch the surface.
- Hand-wash when practical, even if a product is marked dishwasher-safe, and avoid abrasive treatment.
- Separate pans in storage with protectors or another suitable barrier to reduce scratching.
These are care recommendations, not a quantified durability guarantee. Manufacturer instructions can differ by product. For example, Hawkins’s official Aqua manual says its Aqua coating has no PFAS, PTFE, or heavy metals, advises against high heat because nonstick performance may be reduced, and states a one-year guarantee. Those are Hawkins claims and terms for its Aqua line only, not claims about ceramic cookware generally. Read the Hawkins Aqua cookware manual.

It can be a good fit if you value easy food release and are willing to follow the care guidance, but “ceramic” alone does not tell you how a pan will feel or perform. Coated-metal sets and fully ceramic cookware differ in weight, heat response, induction compatibility, and handling. Pick by the exact pieces, cooktop fit, oven limit, and construction that suit your kitchen—not by the category label alone.
