Roborock, best known for robot vacuums, entered the laundry market with the H1, a front-loading washer-dryer unveiled in China in early 2023. Its headline feature was Zeo-cycle drying, which Roborock describes as using a molecular sieve to capture moisture at relatively low temperatures. The launch was a notable expansion for the company, but the H1’s specifications and availability vary by market—and the 2023 China price is not a current global price.
What is the Roborock H1?
The H1 is a washer-dryer combination: one front-loading appliance that washes and dries clothes. It is not a separate washer and dryer pair. Contemporary launch coverage described it as Roborock’s first washing-machine product, a more precise claim than calling it the company’s first appliance of any kind. The announcement placed Roborock in a different part of the home-appliance market from its established robot-vacuum business. But the H1 is a laundry machine, not a floor-cleaning device, and the practical questions are the familiar ones for a washer-dryer: how much it can wash and dry, how well it handles a load, and whether local installation and repair support are available.
How Zeo-cycle drying is supposed to work
Roborock describes Zeo-cycle as a molecular-sieve drying system. In broad terms, air circulating through wet laundry carries water vapor to a moisture-absorbing material; the system is marketed as drying at lower temperatures than methods that depend on high heat. Roborock presents this as a way to be gentler on fabrics and reduce the risk of heat-related damage. (Roborock Taiwan’s H1 product page.)

That description is not proof that the H1 dries faster or uses less energy than another washer-dryer, or that it prevents shrinkage. Low-temperature drying still involves heat and does not make every garment safe to tumble-dry. Check each garment’s care label and use a suitable cycle. Claims about energy use, fabric care, allergen removal or cleaning performance would need independent testing to establish how the machine performs in practice.
Smart features and everyday operation
Coverage of the China launch reported touchscreen controls, app operation, self-cleaning functions, automatic detection of when clothes were dry, and up to 25 wash-and-dry modes. Roborock’s current Taiwan H1 page lists a broader set of regional features, including automatic detergent dispensing, load detection, Wi-Fi control, a child lock, an interior drum light, power-loss memory, firmware upgrades, drum-cleaning reminders and an add-garment function. Feature lists can differ by market or model revision; the Taiwan page is not proof that every China-market H1 has all of them. (Notebookcheck; Roborock Taiwan.)
Automatic detergent dispensing and app controls may reduce routine handling, but they do not answer basic ownership questions such as service access or whether the app works reliably in a buyer’s country. Automatic drum or filter-cleaning claims should not be read as meaning the appliance requires no periodic maintenance.

Capacity: check the regional model
The launch figures and later regional specifications do not match. Notebookcheck’s 2023 report gave the China-launch H1 a capacity of 12 kg for washing and 7 kg for drying. Roborock Taiwan’s current H1 page lists 10 kg for washing and 6 kg for drying, with dimensions of 595 × 850 × 660 mm. Notebookcheck also reported a height of 875 mm for the China launch model. These differences may reflect regional variants, revisions, measurement conventions or a reporting error; the available information does not establish which explanation applies. The wash-versus-dry gap matters. In either reported capacity set, the drying capacity is lower than the washing capacity. A full wash load may therefore need to be split before drying, adding time and handling. Buyers should compare the separate wash and dry capacities—not rely on the larger headline number—and consider whether the drying capacity suits their usual laundry loads.
China launch price, not a current global price
Notebookcheck reported a China presale price of 5,999 yuan with a 100-yuan deposit, followed by a reported price of 7,299 yuan after the presale period, which was said to end on March 20, 2023. These are historical launch figures for China, not a current price, a U.S. retail price or a reliable basis for comparing what the appliance costs elsewhere. H1, H1 Neo and regional availability
Roborock lists H1 and H1 Neo separately on its Taiwan site. The H1 Neo page advertises 10-kg washing and 6-kg drying capacity, Zeo-cycle drying, 25 modes, automatic detergent dispensing and LintClear lint-filter cleaning. That separate listing is a reason not to treat “H1” and “H1 Neo”—or other later H-series names—as interchangeable without checking the exact model and regional specifications. H1-branded products are listed on Roborock’s Taiwan and South Korean websites, confirming regional presence beyond the original China launch. That does not establish worldwide availability. For a major appliance, a regional listing is only a starting point. Before buying—especially if considering an import—confirm the exact model number, electrical requirements, water and drain connections, dimensions and door clearance, installation terms, app-region compatibility, warranty, authorized service and return policy. A China-market unit may not have the voltage, language, app access or support a buyer needs elsewhere.

Who might find the H1 appealing?
A washer-dryer combination can save floor space compared with separate machines. The H1’s molecular-sieve drying approach and connected features may also appeal to buyers who want lower-temperature drying and app-based controls. Those are potential benefits, not independent proof of superior drying, energy efficiency or fabric protection.
The trade-offs are significant. Drying capacity is below washing capacity in both the China report and Taiwan specifications, so some loads may need to be divided. Large-appliance reliability, noise, water and energy consumption, drying time and repairability also require evidence beyond a feature list. Buyers who regularly process large loads at once may prefer a separate washer and dryer; buyers who prioritize local warranty and service should compare locally sold alternatives as well as the H1.

Pay particular attention to bulky items such as towels and bedding, the maintenance required for filters, and whether core controls remain usable without an app or cloud service. Do not assume that automatic features eliminate routine upkeep.
Bottom line
The H1 was a strategically notable 2023 launch: Roborock’s first reported move into washing machines, with Zeo-cycle molecular-sieve drying as its point of distinction. It is best understood as a region-specific washer-dryer family rather than one globally uniform product. Its appeal depends on the exact model’s specifications, the smaller drying capacity, local service and installation, and real-world performance—details buyers should verify before treating a listing or historical launch price as a reason to purchase.
