Keyport’s Versa58 system adds a pocket clip, rechargeable light, slide-out pen or USB-C storage to certain compact Victorinox Swiss Army Knives by replacing their plastic scales. It leaves the knife’s internal tools intact, but it is not universal: Versa58 is intended for 58mm Victorinox models with Cellidor plastic scales—not Alox or the larger 91mm and 111mm formats.
What Versa58 changes—and what it does not
A compact Swiss Army Knife can already pack useful tools into a small body, but it may be awkward to carry loose in a pocket and lack a convenient pen, light or digital storage. Versa58 addresses that gap with replacement scales and attachments for compatible 58mm Victorinox knives.
The system replaces one or both original Cellidor plastic side panels with metal scales. Keyport says a spring-steel interface engages the knife’s existing rivets, so installation does not require glue, drilling or changes to the internal tool stack. The knife’s blade, scissors and other built-in tools are not modular or rearranged by this system.
Keyport also describes magnetic components that let selected modules connect to each other or work as standalone mini-tools. That makes Versa58 more than a set of replacement panels, but the magnetic ecosystem is a separate carry option—not a reason to assume every attachment is equally useful off the knife. Keyport says it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Victorinox AG.

Check compatibility before ordering
Versa58 is for compatible 58mm Victorinox knives with plastic Cellidor scales. Keyport lists models including the Classic SD, Rally, Jetsetter, Rambler, Midnite Manager and MiniChamp. Confirm the exact model and scale type before buying; “Swiss Army Knife” alone is not enough to establish fit. Keyport’s compatibility information is the place to check.
- 58mm, Victorinox, Cellidor scales: the intended platform, subject to checking the specific model.
- Alox: not compatible according to Keyport.
- 91mm or 111mm Victorinox: not compatible.
- Non-Victorinox knives: not compatible.
If you have a larger knife or an Alox model, do not order on the assumption that the scales can be adapted. The attachment interface is designed around the specified 58mm platform.

Clip: a carry improvement, not a new knife tool
The Clip Scale is for people who want pocket carry without a pouch or keyring. Keyport lists a slot intended to retain a Victorinox toothpick or tweezers. Check which accessory belongs in which slot and keep any item displaced during the swap. The clip is an aftermarket Keyport component, not a factory Victorinox accessory.

Light: close-range utility
Keyport describes three Pocket Flare modes at approximately 3 lumens (low), 43 lumens (high) and 45 lumens (lamp mode). Those figures come from the manufacturer. In practical terms, think of it as a small light for nearby tasks—locating something in a bag, checking a label or finding a lock—not a high-output flashlight for lighting a large area.
Pen: handy for short notes
The Pen Scale puts a slide-out ballpoint on a knife that may not otherwise have one. It can be useful when a quick signature or note matters more than writing comfort. Some Victorinox 58mm models already include pen functionality, so the benefit depends on the model you own; Versa58 is not automatically an upgrade in that respect.
USB-C storage: convenient, with ordinary flash-drive limits
The flash-drive scale is listed in 64GB and 256GB versions with a USB-C 3.0 interface. Check that your devices have a usable USB-C port and that a case does not obstruct the connector. A phone or work computer may also restrict removable storage. The drive should not be your only copy of important files, and no security or encryption capability should be assumed without documentation from Keyport.

V Scale and magnetic configurations
Keyport lists aluminum and Grade 5 titanium scales. The V Scale provides a metal base and places to keep small accessories; material choice affects cost, weight and finish, but the material name alone does not establish a meaningful performance advantage. Keyport lists the aluminum V Scale at 14mm × 58mm × 3.8mm and 9g; these are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements.
With magnetic components, Keyport shows standalone combinations such as a pen with a light or a light with a clip. Consider those as additional configurations, not as guaranteed functions of a single scale. A magnetic kit may add cost, and the knife itself is still subject to rules that apply to knives.
Installing or removing a scale
Keyport describes installation as tool-free and says it can take seconds. Treat that as the manufacturer’s description of the process; handle the knife carefully and check the result rather than relying on a time estimate.

- Confirm the knife is a compatible 58mm Cellidor model.
- Open no tools for leverage. Remove the original plastic scale from the side you plan to change, following the scale’s intended removal method.
- Keep the original scale and any toothpick, tweezers or pin that comes out with it. Note where each accessory belongs.
- Line up the Versa58 scale with the exposed rivet points and press it into place so its spring-steel interface engages them.
- Check that the scale is seated securely. Open and close the knife’s original tools to confirm normal operation.
- Repeat on the other side if you want a two-sided configuration. A single replacement is possible, but it can leave the knife mismatched or feel unbalanced.
To remove a Versa58 scale, first take out loose accessories. Grip and release the scale at its interface rather than pulling on a blade or scissors. You can then reinstall the original panel and reseat the small accessories. Keyport says the original scales can be reinstalled, but cautions that they may not fit as tightly after removal. That matters if you expect frequent swaps or want to restore a collectible knife to its original condition.

As a simple arithmetic guide, one standard-priced clip, light or pen scale is about $23–$25 before tax and shipping. Two such scales would be about $46–$50, though the best combination depends on how you carry the knife. A flash-drive setup starts at the listed $59 for that scale, before any second-side component or other accessories. Magnetic standalone use may require additional hardware.

For current stock and terms, check Keyport’s Versa58 page and product collection. As of August 16, 2026, the official site described the system as available for pre-order and indicated that a second batch was expected to ship in October 2026. That is Keyport’s estimate, not confirmation of fulfillment. Earlier campaign coverage gave an original August 2026 shipping estimate; it should not be confused with the later second-batch signal. New Atlas’s launch coverage provides that campaign context.
Is Versa58 the right way to add a function?
The case for Versa58 is strongest if you already own a compatible knife, want one or two specific additions and value being able to change the setup without permanently altering the internal tool stack. The modularity and reversible design are the point; the lowest cost per function is not necessarily.
- Choose a different Victorinox model if you have not bought a knife yet and its factory tools already match your needs. That avoids scale-fit questions, but gives you a different knife rather than this attachment ecosystem. Victorinox’s catalog is a starting point for checking available models.
- Carry a separate accessory if you want the cheapest or most capable pen, light or storage device, or want to replace that item independently. The trade-off is carrying another object rather than integrating it into the knife.
- Consider aftermarket scales if appearance or a material choice matters more than reversibility. Other scale projects may require more commitment or modification and do not necessarily provide Versa58’s shared attachment system.
- Move to a larger knife or multitool if you need pliers, a saw, a larger driver, a file or heavier-duty handling. A 91mm or 111mm platform may suit that work better, but it is larger and cannot use Versa58.
Finally, a bladeless model does not guarantee entry through an airport or venue screening. Rules vary by location, and screening decisions are made locally. Adding a non-bladed module does not change the rules that apply to the knife you carry.
