The Dreame Matrix10 Ultra is the robot vacuum behind the headline. Unlike ordinary robot mops that repeatedly wash and reuse one pad, its dock stores multiple mop assemblies and can automatically remove, wash, dry, and replace them. That could reduce the transfer of kitchen grime into bedrooms and living areas—but it comes with a very large dock, ongoing maintenance, and a U.S. price generally around $1,700–$1,800.
Dreame’s official pages have shown different promotional prices, so check the final checkout price before buying.
What makes the Matrix10 Ultra different?
Most premium robot vacuums with mopping can return to their dock, wash the mop, dry it, refill water, and continue cleaning. The Matrix10 Ultra adds another step: its Multi-Mop Switching Dock is designed to store and exchange different mop assemblies.
That distinction matters. The robot is not merely changing cleaning solution or rinsing the same cloth. It is intended to select a suitable stored mop for a cleaning area, remove the current assembly, install another, and send the used one through the washing and drying cycle.

The original product report described three intended pad types: a heavier-duty scrubbing pad, a sponge pad for more delicate floors, and a general-purpose fiber pad. Dreame’s current U.S. product page does not clearly list the complete pad inventory in its visible specifications, so buyers should confirm the included assemblies and replacement availability before purchase.
How the automatic mop exchange works
- Map the home and identify rooms or cleaning zones.
- Set cleaning preferences in the robot’s software, where supported.
- The robot returns to the dock when it needs another mop or a fresh assembly.
- The dock removes the current mop and installs a stored one.
- The used mop is washed with hot water, advertised at up to 212°F (100°C).
- Hot air dries the mop before it is stored or reused.
The hardware and automatic switching are documented by Dreame, but the exact app menus for assigning a particular mop to a particular room should not be assumed. App labels and available controls can change, so review the current manual and verify the map after setup.
Why separate mop heads could be useful
A kitchen floor may contain grease, food residue, and heavier soil than a bedroom or living room. Using a separate mop assembly for those areas can reduce the chance that one visibly dirty pad carries grime across the rest of the home.

Dreame presents the feature as a way to prevent cross-contamination. More cautiously, the system is designed to reduce the risk of transferring grime between zones. It does not sterilize floors, and hot-water washing does not make a used mop equivalent to a freshly laundered cloth after every cycle.
For pet accidents, sticky spills, heavily soiled grout, or suspected biological contamination, manual cleaning may still be the safer choice. The robot’s dirt detection, mop rewashing, and remopping features are useful controls, but the available information does not establish how reliably they identify every serious mess or exactly when they trigger.

The 30,000 Pa figure is a maximum manufacturer claim, not an independent cleaning test. Suction numbers vary between brands and do not by themselves prove better carpet pickup, edge cleaning, or pet-hair performance.
What else the dock automates
- Dust emptying, advertised for up to 100 days under stated conditions.
- Clean-water refilling.
- Cleaning-solution refilling through a three-solution compartment.
- Hot-water mop washing and hot-air drying.
- Washboard self-cleaning.
- Dirt detection, mop rewashing, and floor remopping.
- Voice control through built-in and third-party systems.
- A dual-brush design intended to reduce hair tangles.
These features reduce routine intervention; they do not make ownership maintenance-free. The 100-day claim concerns dust emptying under stated conditions, not every aspect of care.

The practical drawbacks
The dock needs serious space
At approximately 16.38 × 17.99 × 23.23 inches and 16.6 kg, the base is a substantial appliance. It needs a clear route so the robot can return for water, mop changes, and washing. A closed door, pet gate, chair, or cluttered passage can prevent the exchange system from working as intended.
More automation means more complexity
The system contains water tanks, pumps, mop storage, drying hardware, solution compartments, seals, brushes, and sensors. That can mean more potential points for clogs, leaks, odors, and service issues than a simpler robot with one mop system.
“Hands-free” is not literal
Owners still need to empty dirty water, refill or connect clean water as applicable, replace dust bags, use approved cleaning solution, clean filters and sensors, inspect brushes and seals, maintain the washboard, and replace worn mop assemblies. Dreame’s visible product information does not provide a complete consumables schedule, so do not assume a fixed replacement interval.

Use the correct cleaning solution
Dreame advises using its official cleaning solutions. Do not add bleach, vinegar, arbitrary floor cleaner, or concentrated detergent unless the current instructions explicitly permit it. Incompatible chemicals could damage pumps, seals, sensors, or flooring.

Carpets and thresholds still need checking
Mop lifting and chassis features may help with carpet transitions, but they do not guarantee that every rug will remain perfectly dry. Use the manufacturer’s carpet settings and no-mop zones where appropriate.
The advertised obstacle-clearance figures are maximum specifications. Threshold shape, angle, surface, and approach can produce different results, so a 4.2 cm or 8 cm rating is not a guarantee that the robot will cross every step in a real home.

Dreame’s U.S. pages have shown the Matrix10 Ultra at both $1,699.99 and $1,799.99, against a stated $1,999.99 list price. Treat those figures as volatile and confirm the live total at the official product page.
The premium is easiest to justify when separate mop assemblies solve a real household problem: frequent kitchen messes, pets, children, multiple hard-floor surfaces, or a strong preference for minimizing cross-room grime transfer. It is harder to justify if the main goal is simply automatic vacuuming and occasional mopping.
