Lovesac Sactionals StealthTech is a genuinely clever home-theater system, not simply a couch with Bluetooth speakers. It integrates a center channel, surround speakers, subwoofer, wireless charging, and multiple TV inputs into modular seating. The result is unusually clean and immersive for a living room—but it is still a Dolby Digital 5.1 system, not a confirmed Dolby Atmos theater.
StealthTech makes the most sense when you already want Sactionals and value hidden technology, flexible furniture, and bass you can feel through the seating. If your priority is the best sound quality per dollar, precise speaker placement, or a dedicated Atmos setup, a conventional soundbar system or AV receiver remains the stronger choice.
What StealthTech actually is
StealthTech Sound + Charge is an add-on ecosystem for Lovesac Sactionals, rather than a standalone couch model. Depending on the configuration, it combines:

- A remote control and the StealthTech mobile app.
Lovesac describes the system as Dolby Digital 5.1, developed with Harman Kardon. The speakers and subwoofer can disappear into the sectional, but the center channel is not automatically invisible unless it is wall-mounted or otherwise concealed.

The current product pages also use names such as “StealthTech Sound + Charge” and “Immersive Sound + Charge System.” Not every Sactionals layout has the same number of speakers or identical component requirements, so buyers should verify compatibility for the exact arms, backs, seats, and side inserts they plan to use.
How the hidden theater works
Instead of placing rear speakers on stands or mounting them behind the seating, StealthTech puts surround channels into the Sactionals side inserts. The subwoofer is built into or directly against the seating structure, which gives explosions, music, and other low-frequency effects a physical quality that a soundbar alone generally cannot provide.
That arrangement creates a useful compromise:
- Less visual clutter: There are no obvious rear speakers, stands, or long speaker runs across the room.
- Close surround channels: The side speakers sit near listeners, even in a multifunctional living room.
- Tactile bass: Low-frequency effects can be felt through the seating as well as heard.
- Furniture-linked placement: The speakers move with the sectional when the layout changes.
The last point is both an advantage and a limitation. Conventional speakers can be positioned independently for a more controlled soundstage. StealthTech places its channels wherever the Sactionals design allows them to go. Pillows, upholstery, people, and an irregular sectional shape can affect what individual seats hear.

Is it really surround sound?
Yes, within a 5.1 format. StealthTech is more than a stereo Bluetooth speaker. Its design provides front, center, surround, and low-frequency channels when the source and television connection deliver compatible multichannel audio.

But “hidden home theater” should not be confused with a full modern Dolby Atmos theater. Lovesac’s current official material identifies Dolby Digital 5.1. Independent coverage likewise reported Dolby 5.1 and Dolby Pro Logic II rather than height-channel Atmos. There is no basis here for calling StealthTech a native 5.1.2 or 7.1.4 Atmos system.
Lovesac’s “4D” language refers to the combination of sound and bass vibration. It is a marketing description of the sensory effect, not a recognized additional audio dimension.

What it sounds like
Movies and television
Movies are the clearest use case. Dialogue is assigned to the center channel, effects can come from the sides of the couch, and the integrated subwoofer adds impact without requiring a separate box in the room. For a living room where visible speakers are unwelcome, that combination can feel impressively cinematic.
The tactile bass is the feature that most clearly separates StealthTech from an ordinary soundbar. It does not create overhead effects, but it can make action scenes and soundtracks feel more immediate from the seat.
Music
StealthTech should be viewed as a capable casual-listening system rather than an audiophile music platform. The available independent listening report found good clarity and richness, while also observing that seated listeners could experience an uneven balance depending on position. There is not enough measurement-based evidence to call it best-in-class for music.

Gaming
Gaming performance depends heavily on the television, console, audio-output settings, and connection path. HDMI ARC or optical may behave differently depending on the equipment in the chain. Buyers should not assume that every console, game, or television will deliver the same multichannel result without checking the specific compatibility details.
Connections and system limitations
Lovesac’s compatibility documentation lists HDMI ARC, optical, Bluetooth, and auxiliary input. That gives the system useful flexibility for a television, mobile device, or older source.
However, StealthTech is designed to operate as its own audio system rather than as another speaker group for a conventional AV receiver. Lovesac notes that a Sonos Port can connect through Aux, but that configuration is limited to stereo rather than true surround sound.
This matters if you already own a multichannel setup. StealthTech is not a drop-in replacement for an AV receiver, nor should you expect to combine it freely with conventional wired surround speakers.
Setup is cleaner than a conventional theater, not effortless
The installation avoids much of the visible wiring associated with a traditional theater, but it still involves several powered and connected components. The practical setup sequence is:

- Assemble the Sactionals in the intended configuration.
- Install compatible Sound + Charge and Satellite Side Inserts.
- Place the subwoofer in a compatible seat position.
- Connect the Power Hub, center channel, subwoofer, and side components using the supplied cables.
- Connect the center channel to the television through HDMI ARC, optical, Bluetooth, or Aux.
- Download and pair the StealthTech app.
- Select the fabric and Sactionals layout in the app.
- Choose a sound mode or create a custom profile.
- Test the channels and adjust bass, center volume, and related settings.
Lovesac says the system can tune itself for the fabric and configuration shape. That means a sectional rearrangement is also an audio change: after moving from a straight layout to an L-shape or U-shape, revisit the app’s configuration and tuning.
The app requirements listed by Lovesac are Android 10 or newer or iOS 13 or newer. App Store reviews include positive reports about tuning as well as negative reports involving pairing, support, and reliability. Those anecdotal reviews do not establish a failure rate, but they are relevant ownership considerations for a system whose settings and configuration depend partly on software.
Troubleshooting hidden components
The integrated design hides the electronics, which improves the room but can make access less convenient when something goes wrong. Lovesac’s setup material provides more detailed reset, pairing, and channel guidance. These are the sensible first checks:
No sound anywhere
- Confirm that the center channel is powered and its power cord is connected.
- Test the outlet and check mute and volume settings.
- Re-pair the system or perform the documented factory-reset procedure if basic checks fail.
No sound from the couch sides
- Confirm that the subwoofer and side components are powered.
- Check that the selected sound mode is not News or Quiet Couch.
- Verify that the source is carrying 5.1 content.
- Make sure the app layout matches the physical Sactionals configuration.
Echo or distorted audio
- Disable the television’s own speakers so they are not playing simultaneously with StealthTech.
- Check the cables and Bluetooth range.
- Review the television’s audio-output setting.
Layout, fabric, and power requirements
Before buying, confirm which inserts fit the intended arms and backs, whether the layout supports the required speaker sides, and where the components will receive power. Hidden audio does not mean wireless power: the system still needs outlets, hubs, and interconnects.

Fabric is also part of the setup rather than purely a cosmetic choice. Because Lovesac says the app uses fabric-specific tuning, select the actual cover fabric instead of assuming one generic profile will work equally well for every material.
Sound + Charge Side Inserts can support up to three wireless chargers, with one charger supplied according to Lovesac’s current product description. Charging still depends on the phone’s supported wireless-charging standard.
Pricing: budget for a furniture-and-audio purchase
Prices change with configuration, fabric, fill, promotions, financing, taxes, and shipping. The following U.S. prices were displayed on Lovesac pages during the research pass on August 18, 2026; sale prices should not be treated as permanent MSRP:

StealthTech compared with alternatives

Compatible Sonos home-theater products can support Dolby Atmos, according to Sonos’ support documentation. That makes Sonos or a conventional theater a better fit for buyers who prioritize height effects, independent speaker placement, and future upgrades.
Who should buy StealthTech?
It is a strong fit if:
- You already want a Sactionals sectional.
- Visible speakers, stands, and cables would damage the room’s design.
- The room is a shared living space rather than a dedicated theater.
- You value rearrangeable furniture and seating-based bass.
- Your main uses are movies, television, sports, casual gaming, and music.
- You are comfortable with Dolby 5.1 instead of Atmos.
It is a poor fit if:
- You are buying it primarily for audio quality per dollar.
- Atmos or precise height effects are essential.
- You want audiophile-grade music playback.
- The seating layout changes frequently.
- You need integration with an existing AV receiver or multichannel ecosystem.
- Independent repair, replacement, and long-term software support are priorities.
- You have a dedicated media room where conventional speakers can be placed correctly.
Verdict
Lovesac Sactionals StealthTech is impressive because it makes surround sound disappear into the furniture. Its tactile bass, modular seating, charging features, and exceptionally clean installation solve a real living-room problem.
It is not impressive in the narrower sense of delivering the strongest sound system for the money, and it should not be sold as a Dolby Atmos replacement. Buy it when the Sactionals furniture and hidden integration are central to the decision. If the audio system comes first, choose a conventional soundbar bundle, Sonos setup, or properly positioned AV receiver and speakers instead.
