The 2026 Labor Day appliance sales at Home Depot and Lowe’s are over. Both retailers’ official sale windows ran August 27–September 9, 2026. Whirlpool’s related installation-and-haul-away promotion ended September 16. Treat early-September discount claims as historical unless you recheck the exact model, price, stock and terms today.
When did the 2026 Labor Day appliance sales run?
Home Depot’s nationwide Labor Day Savings event ran August 27 through September 9, according to its corporate announcement. Lowe’s lists the same August 27–September 9 window on its official Labor Day page. Whirlpool’s Labor Day offer continued through September 16, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern.
Those dates have passed as of September 28, 2026. A page that still carries a “Labor Day” heading is not proof that its promotion remains active.
What appliances were included?
The major categories were refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ranges and kitchen or laundry packages. Home Depot’s general appliance-sales page also lists microwaves, wall ovens, cooktops and range hoods. Lowe’s identifies refrigerators and washer-dryer sets among its Labor Day categories.

Lowe’s cautions: “Most Labor Day promotions are available in store and online, though inventory and specific pricing can vary by location.” That warning matters when comparing a national headline with the price available at your local store.

These were snapshots from September 1, not current quotes or independent measurements of typical prices. “Up to” percentages likewise describe promotional claims, not proof that Labor Day is statistically the cheapest time to buy an appliance.

- Open the live product listing. Do not rely on a search-result headline or a retained holiday URL. Home Depot’s Labor Day appliance page still carried the label on September 28 but showed only three results, including range hoods.
- Record the exact model number. Compare the same SKU, or genuinely equivalent capacity, fuel type, dimensions and features.
- Check the final price in your location. Enter your ZIP code or select a store to reveal local inventory, delivery dates and location-specific pricing.
- Add service charges. Include delivery, installation, required connection kits or hoses, permits where applicable, and old-appliance haul-away.
- Read eligibility and timing terms. Confirm whether the discount requires a bundle, a minimum price, a membership, a specific payment method or a qualifying new order, and note the exact expiration time zone.
- Review returns and warranty coverage. A lower sticker price may be less attractive if restocking, return transport or limited warranty terms apply.

- Exact model and configuration
- Sale price and the reference price used for the discount
- Delivery date and fee
- Installation price and required accessories
- Haul-away charge or waiver
- Local stock and substitution policy
- Warranty and return terms
- Promotion end date and eligibility conditions
For example, Whirlpool’s expired $898 threshold covered installation and haul-away only for qualifying appliances and locations. A current delivery promotion with a $599 threshold is a different offer and should not be presented as a continuation of the Labor Day deal.
What is available after Labor Day?
As of September 28, Home Depot’s general appliance page displayed separate promotions, including “up to an extra $600” on select LG appliances ending September 30 and “up to 35% off” select appliances. The page does not establish that either banner is a Labor Day carryover, so confirm the individual product, stock and terms before purchasing.
Whirlpool’s separate flash-sale page showed free delivery on qualifying major appliances priced at $599 or more through September 30 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern, subject to service availability and other terms. It is not the expired Labor Day installation-and-haul-away promotion.

Bottom line for appliance shoppers
The 2026 Labor Day appliance event was a dated sales window, not a live sale on September 28. The strongest advertised claims were up to 40% off at Home Depot, up to 45% off at Lowe’s and up to 50% at AJ Madison, but those figures came from September 1 promotional coverage. Before buying, verify the exact SKU and calculate the delivered, installed and hauled-away total for your location. A current non-holiday promotion may be better than an expired Labor Day headline, but only the live checkout terms can establish that.
