To set the clock on most Samsung ovens with a number pad, press Clock, choose AM or PM if prompted, enter the time, then press Clock or START/SET to save. Samsung uses several control-panel designs, though, so a dial or touchscreen needs a different procedure. Match your panel to the steps below.
Quick guide: A Clock button usually means the keypad method; Up/Down arrows may adjust hours and minutes separately; a Menu button and rotary dial indicate a Smart Dial model; and a full touchscreen usually keeps the clock under Settings → Date & Time. These are common paths, not universal instructions. Samsung’s clock-setting guide and the manual for your exact model are the best references if your controls differ.
Before you begin
- Check that the oven is not in an active cooking cycle. Whether a model allows clock changes during operation can vary.
- Look at the panel and choose the matching method below.
- If the time is blinking after a power interruption, it generally needs to be entered again; that alone does not mean the oven is damaged.
Samsung oven with a Clock button and number pad
- Press Clock briefly.
- If the display asks for AM or PM, press Clock again to select the correct half of the day.
- Enter the time with the number pad. For example, enter
1 3 0for 1:30 on a 12-hour display. - Press Clock or START/SET to save. Check that the display shows the intended time.
The AM/PM step is conditional: a 24-hour display may not ask for it. Do not enter a 24-hour value such as 13:30 on a 12-hour keypad model. Start with a brief press of Clock; on some panels, holding it opens a separate settings menu.

Some Samsung ranges, including certain NX60-series controls, set the hour and minutes in separate stages:

- Use Up or Down to choose the hour, then press START/SET.
- Use Up or Down to choose the minutes, then press START/SET again.
This sequence is model-specific. See Samsung’s NX60-series clock instructions or your model manual if the prompts do not match.
Panel labeled Clock/Setting
On some models, Clock/Setting is the control for entering the time. Press it and follow the display prompts, then confirm with Clock or START/SET. Button behavior differs: a short press may enter the clock, while holding the button on certain panels opens other settings. Samsung documents variations for NE63-series Clock/Setting controls and alternate NE63-series panels.

Samsung Smart Dial oven
- If the panel appears asleep, turn or press the dial to wake it. Smart Dial models can enter Sleep mode after inactivity.
- Tap Menu.
- Turn the dial to Set time, then push the dial to select it.
- Turn the dial to enter the current time, then push it to confirm.
To change the display format, use Menu → Time format, choose 12hr or 24hr, then push the dial to save. Menu labels can vary across models. Samsung’s Smart Dial instructions provide a model-family example.

- Manual time: Turn automatic date and time off, then set the time zone, date, and time manually.
Not every model has the same connectivity options. Some touchscreen ovens also turn off the time display after inactivity to reduce screen energy use; the clock may still be set even when it is not continuously visible.
Clock, timer, and Delay Start are different
The clock displays the current time and supplies a time reference for features such as Delay Start. The kitchen timer is a separate countdown alert; setting it does not change the clock and it does not usually control oven heating. Timed cooking and Delay Start instructions vary by model, so use the manual rather than treating them as ordinary clock settings. Samsung explains the distinction in its timer support guide.

The clock does not set the oven temperature. Its accuracy matters for scheduled or other time-dependent functions. After a power outage, check the clock before relying on Delay Start or similar features.
If the clock will not change
- Wake the panel: On Smart Dial models, turn or press the dial. A sleeping panel may show only the time.
- Check the lock: Control Lock or an oven lock may block input. Follow the panel’s unlock instructions for your model.
- Tap Clock rather than holding it: A long press can open settings on some panels instead of the ordinary clock-entry screen.
- Check for an active operation: If the controls reject the change, use the appropriate clear/off control if safe and permitted by the model instructions, then try again.
- Watch for format prompts: Confirm AM/PM when requested, or check whether the display is set to 24-hour time.
- Use the exact manual: Find the full model number on the appliance label and search Samsung Support for that model’s manual. Do not assume a button combination from another Samsung family applies to yours.
- Verify the result: Make sure the displayed time changed before using a scheduled cooking feature.
Sabbath mode is separate from ordinary clock setting. It changes model-specific display, sound, and control behavior; it is not a way to set the current time. See Samsung’s Sabbath mode guidance for the applicable model.

Samsung’s general instructions cover many ranges and ovens, but not every control panel. When labels or prompts do not match, follow the manual for the full model number rather than trying a universal reset or button sequence.
