Plan The Beat Before You Generate
Write a one-sentence brief that fixes the musical job of the beat. Include the intended energy, the main drum emphasis, the section changes, and the format you need to edit later.
- Loop brief: “A tight four-bar drum loop with a clear kick and snare contrast, leaving space for a vocal.”
- Full arrangement brief: “Build an intro, verse, drop, and outro, with a denser drum pattern in the drop.”
- Editable brief: “Return separate drum parts or MIDI so I can change the kick pattern and velocity.”
Use genre, BPM, mood, structure, or syncopation controls when the chosen tool provides them. If a control is not listed for your tool, treat the wording as a prompt experiment and check the vendor’s current interface.

For Drum-Only Ideas

Edit The Groove Instead Of Chasing More Generations
- Mute every part except the drums and check whether the kick and snare still define the pulse.
- Move or remove notes that collide with the space needed by a vocal or bassline.

- Regenerate or replace one lane at a time, locking the parts that already work.
- Listen at low volume and on your normal phone or smart-speaker setup to catch masking and excessive low end.

Arrange Sections And Create A Usable Export
- Make an intro with fewer active parts, then add layers for the main section.
- Create a drop or chorus by changing density, fills, or percussion rather than duplicating the same loop unchanged.
- Export stems or MIDI when you plan to mix in another workstation; export WAV or MP3 when you only need a listening reference.
- Label each export with the tempo, key if you used one, and version number.
