Start with an instrumental brief tied to your edit, generate several versions, export the cleanest mix or stems, then duck it under speech in your video editor. Define The Background-Music Brief
Write the brief before opening a generator. State the video’s subject, emotional arc, approximate edit length, where the music should build or relax, and that it must remain behind dialogue. Ask for an instrumental arrangement with no lead vocal, no spoken words and a restrained melody. Mention instruments and texture, such as soft piano, brushed drums, warm pads or light acoustic guitar, rather than naming a living artist.
- Opening: low-intensity texture that leaves room for the introduction.

- Transition: a short lift or change in harmony where your edit changes topic.

Use A Prompt That Describes The Edit
Try a prompt such as: “Instrumental background music for a smart-home setup tutorial, calm modern electronic pulse, soft analog pads, muted plucks, light percussion, no vocals, no lyrics, understated melody, gradual lift for the product demonstration, clean ending for narration.” Create alternate prompts by changing only one variable at a time: “more acoustic,” “less percussion,” “darker transition,” or “sparser under speech.” This makes it easier to choose music that fits your cuts.

Fit The Music To Your Video
- Import the music and voice track into your video editor.
- Place the strongest musical change at a visual chapter change, product reveal or montage.
- Lower the music while someone speaks, and restore it during pauses or b-roll.
- Use stems to remove distracting bass, percussion or melody instead of lowering the whole mix.
- Trim the ending to a clean phrase, then listen on headphones, laptop speakers and a phone.
- Keep the generated file, prompt, plan information and download date with the project records.
Check Rights Before Publishing
Consent still matters for any voice, vocal likeness, uploaded reference or cover-style result. Use only material you have permission to submit, and follow the selected platform’s terms for commercial use, attribution, distribution and samples. Rights can change by plan and project, so treat the tool’s current license page as the controlling source.
YouTube renamed its repetitious-content monetization rule to the inauthentic-content policy on July 15, 2025; it targets mass-produced, repetitive or template-based uploads rather than AI use by itself. YouTube also requires an altered-or-synthetic-content label when realistic altered or synthetic content could be mistaken for a real person’s performance. Apply that disclosure when your finished video meets that description.

Export A Review Copy
Watch the complete video with the music at its intended level, checking every narration entrance, transition and ending. If the bed competes with words, return to the stem or section edit and simplify the arrangement instead of adding more effects. Publish only after the license and any required disclosure match the exact video and account.
