To connect a compatible eufy Security camera to Alexa, enable the eufySecurity skill in the Alexa app, link the eufy account that owns the camera, and discover devices. Then say, “Alexa, show me [camera name]” to view its live feed on a supported screen-equipped device such as an Echo Show or compatible Fire TV. An Echo speaker without a screen may support announcements, but it cannot display video.
Before you begin
- Set up the camera in the eufy Security app and confirm that it is online and its live view works.
- Have the Alexa app installed and signed in, and make sure your Alexa device has internet access.
- Use the eufy account that owns or administers the camera. A shared account may not have the permissions needed for discovery or control.
- For live video, use a compatible Alexa display. Check eufy’s compatibility list for your exact camera model and the function you want.
“Alexa-compatible” does not mean every camera feature is available through Alexa. Live viewing is the main use; settings, event history, recording controls, and many other functions remain in the eufy Security app. Amazon’s camera integration overview describes supported camera streams on devices such as Echo Show and Fire TV.
Connect the camera, step by step
- Give the camera a clear name in eufy. In the eufy Security app, choose a short, unique name such as “Front Door” or “Backyard.” Avoid duplicates, model numbers, and generic names such as “Camera.”
- Enable the right skill. In the Alexa app, open the menu and choose Skills & Games or Browse Skills. Search for eufySecurity and tap Enable. The separate EufyHome skill is for certain appliances and accessories, not eufy Security cameras. Menu wording can vary by app version, language, and region. See eufy’s Alexa setup guide.
- Link your eufy account. Sign in with the eufy credentials that can access the camera and approve the account connection. Your Amazon and eufy email addresses do not have to match; the linked eufy account must have access to the device.
- Discover devices. If Alexa does not start discovery automatically, open Devices in the Alexa app, select the add-device option, then choose Discover Devices. The camera should appear in your Alexa device list.
- Organize and test. Assign the camera to the appropriate Alexa room if useful, then say, “Alexa, show me Front Door.” To end the view, say, “Alexa, stop” or “Alexa, go home.” eufy documents these camera-viewing commands.
If you later rename a camera in the eufy app, run device discovery again so Alexa can synchronize the updated name.

Think of Alexa as a convenience layer for selected eufy functions, not a replacement for the eufy app. A compatible screen can show a live camera feed. Some compatible video doorbells can also send press announcements to Alexa devices when the relevant option is available and enabled. Other functions—including two-way communication, motion or person alerts, and controls for products such as floodlights or locks—depend on the particular eufy model, Alexa device, and integration.

A speaker-only Echo can announce a supported doorbell press, but it cannot show a video feed. An Alexa phone app is useful for account linking, discovery, and settings; its live-view behavior is not necessarily equivalent to watching on a supported Echo display. Do not assume that Alexa can play recorded footage, change camera settings, or expose every eufy feature.
Enable doorbell press announcements
If you have a compatible eufy video doorbell, first make sure Alexa has discovered it. Open the doorbell’s device page in the Alexa app and look for announcement or communication settings; enable Doorbell Press Announcement if it is offered. Labels and locations can change. Test by pressing the doorbell.

An announcement is separate from automatically showing video. Check that the receiving Echo is online and not muted or in a mode that suppresses announcements. Availability depends on the doorbell model, firmware, region, and Alexa device. Do not assume motion or person-detection announcements are supported just because doorbell-press announcements are.
Troubleshooting
Alexa cannot find the camera
- Check that the camera appears online and works in the eufy Security app.
- Confirm that the eufySecurity skill—not an unrelated EufyHome skill—is enabled and linked to the account with access to the camera.
- Run Discover Devices again.
- Restart the camera and, if applicable, its HomeBase; restart the Alexa device as well.
- If discovery still fails, disable and re-enable the eufySecurity skill, sign in again, and rediscover devices.
eufy’s Alexa connection troubleshooting guide also recommends checking internet access and refreshing the skill link when needed.

Alexa says the camera is offline
Start by checking the camera in the eufy app. If it is offline there too, restore its Wi-Fi or HomeBase connection; check battery level for a battery-powered camera and its range from the wireless source. If eufy works but Alexa does not, restart the devices, rediscover the camera, and refresh the skill link. A camera renamed or removed in eufy may also need to be rediscovered in Alexa.
The live view will not start
Check each link in the chain: does live view work in eufy, is the exact model supported for Alexa streaming, and are you asking a screen-equipped compatible Alexa device? Say the camera’s exact Alexa-listed name, and test another supported display if available. If the stream fails despite those checks, network quality or camera video-quality settings may be involved. A lower stream setting may help when bandwidth is the problem, but it reduces image quality and is not a universal fix. See eufy’s livestream troubleshooting advice.

Alexa opens the wrong camera
Give each camera a short, distinct name, avoid near-duplicates, and check that Alexa displays the names you expect. Assign cameras to sensible rooms and rediscover devices after renaming them.

Confirm the doorbell is discovered, the press-announcement option is enabled if available, and the receiving Echo is online and able to make announcements. Also check that the Alexa account is linked to the eufy account with access to the doorbell and that the exact model supports the feature.

Compatibility, privacy, and account management
Compatibility is model- and feature-specific: a camera may work in eufy but not offer Alexa live streaming, or it may be discoverable while a particular function is unavailable. A HomeBase is part of some eufy systems, but having one does not guarantee that every connected camera supports every Alexa feature. Check eufy’s device compatibility information before buying hardware specifically for this integration.
Linking accounts authorizes Alexa to access supported eufy devices. A voice command can put a camera feed on a shared display, so consider who can see screens in common areas. If you retire or give away a camera, remove it from Alexa and unlink the eufySecurity skill as well as removing it from your eufy account. For full camera administration, recordings, event review, and privacy settings, use the eufy Security app.
If you already use Google Home or Apple Home, check support for your exact camera and desired feature separately; eufy compatibility is not universal across product lines. Advanced local NVR or Home Assistant setups offer different trade-offs and do not make a camera automatically available to Alexa.
