There is no single leg-spacing measurement for a 55-inch TCL TV. In the two-foot models listed below, TCL’s published stand-separation figures range from 36.2 to 47.3 inches. A newer model may use a center pedestal instead. Check the full model number before deciding whether your console or tabletop will work.
55-inch TCL stand-spacing chart
These are measurements published by TCL for specific U.S. models. “Stand separation” is TCL’s term; its pages do not consistently define the precise endpoints, so do not assume it means the outside edges of the feet. Overall width is the width of the TV, not the width of the supports.

The QM7L figure describes a central pedestal, not the distance between two legs. These examples show why “55-inch TCL” is not enough to establish furniture fit.

Look for the complete model code—such as 55S450G—on the label on the back of the television, the original box, your receipt or retailer order history, or the TCL product or support page. Some TVs also show model information in Settings; menu names vary by model and software. If you are buying, ask for the full model code rather than relying on a listing that says only “55-inch TCL.”

Which measurement matters for your furniture?
- Overall TV width: panel width from side to side. It does not tell you where the feet land.
- Stand separation: the spacing value TCL publishes for many two-foot models. Confirm its meaning in the model documentation if the fit is tight.
- Outside-to-outside support width: the widest span of the actual feet. This is often the key width for a tabletop.
- Inside clearance: open space between the feet, useful when a raised shelf or soundbar sits beneath the screen.
- Foot depth and TV depth with stand: front-to-back space needed on a shallow console.
- Pedestal width: relevant to a center-support design such as the QM7L; it is not interchangeable with two-foot spacing.
Feet may angle outward, and their outer edges can extend beyond their mounting positions. TCL’s published separation is a useful starting point, not necessarily the exact footprint you need for a close fit.
Check fit before buying or placing the TV
- Identify the complete model number. Do not infer dimensions from screen size or series name alone.
- Open that exact TCL product or support page. Look for “Stand Separation Distance,” any wide/narrow position options, “Pedestal Width,” and dimensions for the TV with stand.
- Get the model-specific manual or quick-start guide. Check the stand-installation illustration for foot orientation and screw positions. TCL’s manuals instruct users to align feet with the correct holes and install them in the illustrated direction; for example, see the QM7K guide.
- Measure the furniture’s usable surface. Measure the flat, unobstructed top, not its decorative outside width. Check both width and depth, plus any center divider, raised lip, or soundbar shelf.
- Allow a margin. Avoid placing feet at the very edge. Both supports should sit fully on a level, stable surface, and the furniture must be rated for the TV’s weight.
For an assembled TV, have two people stabilize it while you measure from the outermost support point of one foot to the outermost point of the other. Measure each foot’s front-to-back depth, note whether the feet angle outward, and check the clearance between them. Do not lift or tip a large television alone to take a measurement.

Will it fit on a 36-inch console?
Not if the applicable support footprint is wider than the usable top. A 36-inch surface is narrower than the listed stand separations for the 55S423 (44.6 in) and 55S535 (47.3 in). It is also slightly narrower than the 55S571G’s published 36.2-inch separation, and TCL’s figure may not equal the feet’s outside span. Even a number that appears to fit needs confirmation against the actual supports, furniture depth, weight rating, and stability.

The supports must be fully supported, the set must be stable and centered as appropriate, and the console must safely carry the load. A center shelf, raised edge, or soundbar can make a seemingly wide enough surface unusable.

If the original feet do not fit
- Use a wider, flat, stable surface with enough usable depth and load capacity.
- Find model-compatible replacement feet and verify they are specified for the exact model, not merely another TCL 55-inch TV.
- Consider a universal tabletop stand only after checking VESA pattern, supported weight, screw diameter and length, mounting-plate clearance, base dimensions, and port access. Choose suitable height if a soundbar is involved. Do not guess at screw depth.
- Wall-mount the TV only after checking that model’s VESA pattern, hardware requirements, wall construction, and mount load rating. TCL’s mounting guidance stresses checking the correct VESA pattern and hardware.
- Hire a qualified installer if lifting, wall type, anchoring, or load capacity is uncertain.
Do not drill, extend, bend, or improvise the supplied feet. A replacement base or wall mount must match the television’s mounting points and carry its weight safely.

Quick fit checklist
- Full model number confirmed.
- Exact model’s TCL specifications and installation illustration checked.
- Stand separation distinguished from outside-to-outside foot width.
- Both support points fit fully on the usable surface, with room from its edges.
- Surface is flat, level, stable, deep enough, and rated for the TV’s weight.
- Any alternative stand or wall mount matches VESA, weight, and screw requirements.
