Electra is a real, full-size induction range that runs from a standard 120-volt outlet with help from a built-in battery. At $3,999 before tax and shipping, it is not a cheap stove. It may, however, cost less overall than a conventional induction range installation when a home would otherwise need a new 240-volt circuit or electrical-panel work. The key question is not just the appliance price: it is what your kitchen’s electrical service can support and what a local installation would cost.
What Electra includes
Electra is a 30-inch range, not a portable burner or a battery generator paired with a separate cooktop. Its listed specifications include four induction burners, a 4.55-cubic-foot true-convection oven with an air-fry mode, and a built-in 5-kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery. It plugs into a standard 120-volt, 15-amp outlet. Two burners are rated at 1,800 watts and two at 900 watts. The range weighs about 305 pounds and has adjustable legs.
As of August 18, 2026, Electra’s official shop lists the stove at $3,999, excluding tax and shipping, and gives an estimated lead time of about eight weeks. Confirm current stock and delivery timing before ordering. The published product pages differ on depth—one lists 26.5 inches and another 27.5 inches—so use the final installation drawing, not a listing summary, to check cabinet fit.
How a 120-volt outlet can run a full-size range
A typical full-size induction range calls for a dedicated 240-volt circuit, often in the 40-to-50-amp range. That can make switching from gas difficult in an older house, apartment, or multifamily building, particularly if the electrical panel is full or a new cable run would require opening finished walls.

Electra’s approach is to draw power through a 120-volt connection over time and store energy in its battery. When cooking calls for more power than the outlet can supply at that moment, the battery can supplement it. This load-buffering design may avoid a new high-amperage range circuit, while also keeping energy available for cooking during a grid outage. It does not make the range indefinitely independent of the grid: the battery needs to recharge, and it is described as powering the stove—not the rest of the home.
Electra says a conventional induction conversion can cost more than $7,000 when the appliance and electrical work are included. Treat that as the company’s illustrative comparison, not a national average or a quote for your house. Panel condition, distance from the panel, permits, local labor rates, and wall repairs can change the cost substantially. Get an electrician’s estimate and compare it with the range’s delivered price.
Is it affordable?
“Affordable” is relative to the alternative. If a suitable 240-volt circuit is already at the range location, a conventional induction range may cost considerably less and offer a broader choice of established models. In that case, Electra’s battery and outage capability may not justify the premium.

If a new circuit, panel upgrade, and associated repairs would be expensive or impractical, Electra’s higher appliance price could be offset by lower installation costs. That can be especially relevant in older homes or apartments, subject to landlord, building, and local-code approval. The right comparison is:
- Existing 240-volt circuit: Compare Electra’s $3,999 price with a conventional range; the conventional option is often the more economical starting point.
- New circuit, straightforward route: Compare appliance price plus a written electrical-work estimate for each option.
- Panel or building constraints: Ask an electrician and the property owner or building manager whether a new circuit is feasible before assuming either solution will be approved.
- Outage cooking is a priority: Compare Electra’s integrated backup with a conventional range plus a portable induction burner and separate battery generator.
Electra refers to possible rebates, including a California incentive, but eligibility is not universal. Check your state and utility program’s current rules, funding, deadlines, income requirements, and whether a battery-integrated range qualifies. Do not deduct a rebate from your budget until the program confirms that your purchase is eligible.
Cooking performance: check the burner ratings
The battery helps Electra exceed what a 120-volt outlet could provide continuously, but it does not erase the published burner ratings. Its two 1,800-watt zones are the more powerful choices for searing, high-heat sautéing, or boiling moderate quantities of water. The two 900-watt zones are better suited to simmering, sauces, and melting.

- CHOOSE POWER MODE OR TEMPERATURE MODE: There are 20 preset levels per mode so you can select the perfect one for your cooking task. TEMPERATURE MODE is recommended to fry, steam and saute. Try POWER MODE to keep warm or to bring water to a boil quickly
- Induction stoves rely on cookware to heat, so it’s essential to choose magnetic bottom cookware with a minimum diameter of 5 inches. Cooktop will not operate without compatible cookware
- WIDE RANGE OF APPLICATIONS: Lightweight and attractive design makes it great for home and outdoor cooking. Low and high voltage warning system; ETL approved and built to North American electrical standards
Electra compares its heat output with gas elements of about 20,000 BTU. That is a company comparison, not a guarantee that every pan, recipe, or cooking situation will feel equivalent to a powerful 240-volt induction range or professional gas range. Before buying, ask Electra how the range shares power when several burners are on, whether maximum burner output is available alongside oven use, and what battery reserve or power limits apply. The dossier does not establish that all four burners can sustain their rated maximums simultaneously.
Induction requires cookware with a magnetic base. A simple check is whether a magnet sticks firmly to the bottom of the pan. Steel and cast iron generally work; aluminum, copper, glass, and some stainless-steel pans need an induction-compatible base. Flat-bottom cookware sized appropriately for the cooking zone usually makes better contact. Cast iron can scratch glass if dragged, and warped pans may heat unevenly. Some cookware can also hum or vibrate on induction.
What outage cooking means in practice
Electra says a fully charged range can support several meals during an outage. That is a manufacturer estimate, not a standardized runtime test, and the actual duration depends on battery charge, cooking settings, cycling, oven use, and battery-management limits. A 5-kWh battery contains 5,000 watt-hours before conversion losses; dividing that by a steady 900-watt load gives a theoretical 5.6 hours, not a promised cooking time. Real use will differ, especially if the oven is involved.

Before relying on the range for emergency cooking, ask the manufacturer whether all burners and the oven operate during an outage, whether the oven reaches its normal temperatures, how the range behaves while charging, how long a full recharge takes from a 120-volt outlet, and whether any battery reserve is held back. Also confirm that controls work without Wi-Fi or an app. Public product material describes cooking backup, not a household battery for refrigeration, lights, medical devices, or internet equipment.

A 120-volt plug does not mean every installation is a simple appliance swap. Measure the opening and verify clearances against Electra’s current installation instructions. Plan for a 305-pound appliance, adequate floor support, anti-tip protection, and safe access to the outlet. If replacing a 240-volt range, disconnecting the old appliance may require a qualified technician. A gas replacement can also involve shutting off or capping the gas line, permits, ventilation considerations, or approval from a landlord or condo board.

Electra says it currently ships within the United States and recommends a qualified technician for disconnecting a 240-volt range. Certification, warranty, and battery aging
Electra says its components meet applicable UL standards and that its LFP battery cells are UL-certified. Those statements do not, by themselves, establish that the complete finished range is listed by UL. Ask for the complete-appliance certification or listing number, the applicable appliance and battery standards, and documentation a local inspector, landlord, insurer, or building manager may require.
The stated included warranty is one year for parts and labor. Electra says the battery is expected to retain 80% of its capacity after 6,000 cycles, but normal degradation is excluded from the warranty. Capacity retention is not the same as failure, and a cycle-life claim is not a guarantee of a particular number of years in a particular kitchen. Before purchase, ask about battery replacement cost, service procedure, parts availability, and who can perform repairs. Those details matter more with an integrated battery than with a conventional range.
How it compares with alternatives
- Conventional 240-volt induction range: Usually the logical first comparison when the home already has a suitable circuit. It can cost less, offers more model and service choices, and may provide higher output; it will not cook through a power outage without a separate backup system.
- Copper Charlie: A direct battery-range competitor. Copper’s official product page describes Charlie, but the listing captured for this comparison indicates it is sold out and does not provide a dependable current price. Confirm availability, specifications, certification, warranty, and lead time before treating it as a buyable alternative.
- Impulse Labs Cooktop: A battery-equipped cooktop rather than a full range. Its official shop lists a 3-kWh battery and a $6,999 price, and the company emphasizes much higher peak output. It is a premium cooktop option, not a direct substitute for Electra’s integrated oven.
- Portable induction burner plus battery generator: Potentially a better fit for emergency cooking, renters, or occasional use. It is modular and can leave the battery available for other devices, but it is not a four-burner range and has no integrated oven.
Who should consider Electra?
Electra is most compelling for someone who needs a full-size range, has only a 120-volt connection at the existing location, and faces unusually costly or difficult electrical work. The integrated battery also has value for households that want cooking capability during an outage and are comfortable with the price, a newer product category, and a one-year base warranty.
