ECOVACS’ 2026 home-robot lineup puts its GOAT robotic lawn mowers in the spotlight, with wire-free, LiDAR-assisted mapping that the company says can map a garden in less than a minute. That is a setup claim, not an independently verified measure of how quickly the mower can map every garden or finish mowing it. The range also adds an integrated string trimmer for lawn edges, while the wider announcement includes a new DEEBOT vacuum-and-mop robot and WINBOT window cleaners.
What ECOVACS announced
At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, ECOVACS presented an expanded range of domestic robots spanning lawn care, floor cleaning and window cleaning. The GOAT mowers are the main news for homeowners: the new A and O families combine wire-free mapping and navigation with app-managed mowing zones, obstacle sensing and the company’s TruEdge edge-trimming system.
The product names and availability differ by market. The UK launch coverage focused on the GOAT A1600 LiDAR Pro, WINBOT W2S OMNI and WINBOT mini 2. Current US ECOVACS pages instead highlight GOAT A3000, A2000 and O1000 models, alongside the WINBOT W3 OMNI. Those are regional lineup differences, not interchangeable names for the same products.

What “maps your garden in less than a minute” means
ECOVACS describes the GOAT’s HoloScope 360 Dual-LiDAR system as combining a 360-degree mechanical LiDAR scanner, short-range 3D time-of-flight (ToF) sensing and an AI camera. In plain terms, the mower uses laser measurements to locate itself and build a map, depth sensing to assess nearby objects, and a camera to help interpret what it sees. It can then use map-based routes and app settings to manage areas, schedules and restrictions rather than relying on a boundary wire.

The under-a-minute figure is a manufacturer or launch-coverage claim; the available sources do not establish an independent timed test in representative gardens. It should be understood as a claim about automated initial mapping or setup, not a survey-grade digital twin of a property, a guarantee that every lawn will map in 60 seconds, or a promise of a completed mowing cycle in that time. The mower must be able to reach the usable lawn, and the result can depend on its shape, obstacles, narrow passages, connectivity and battery state. A first map may still need editing to add no-go areas, divide zones, define passages or correct errors.
Wire-free setup removes the need to install a physical perimeter cable, but it does not remove site preparation or checks. ECOVACS offers app-based map editing and multi-zone management; its support information also describes inaccessible paths and areas that may remain unmowed. The company says basic mower operation can work without Wi-Fi, but app mapping and advanced controls may be unavailable. Buyers who depend on those controls should plan for the network and app as part of the setup.
GOAT A and O: which family is aimed at your lawn?
ECOVACS positions the A Series for larger lawns and the O Series for smaller or more complex gardens, including layouts where narrow paths matter. Model capacities and specifications are manufacturer claims and vary by model and market.

ECOVACS advertises up to 27° (50%) slope handling for relevant A-series models and up to 24° (45%) for O-series models. It also claims that specified LiDAR PRO models can recognize more than 200 obstacle types. These figures do not apply to every GOAT mower, and the obstacle-recognition number is not a promise that the machine will detect every small, dark, moving or partly hidden object.
TruEdge tackles the unfinished edge
TruEdge is an integrated string-trimming system designed to cut closer to lawn borders than a conventional mower deck. ECOVACS says relevant models can trim to approximately 0mm from an edge and describes the string as extending, retracting and stopping when the system detects a person or animal. Treat the zero-gap figure as a company claim, not a result guaranteed along every type of border.

Edges are difficult because their shape and height matter. A mower may not reach grass beside raised beds, vertical walls, loose gravel, irregular paving, soft drop-offs or obstacles it must avoid. TruEdge may reduce the amount of manual trimming, but it does not establish that every perimeter will be left perfectly finished. ECOVACS has also described a 5cm gap around obstacles on earlier O-series material and compared it with an industry average based on its own laboratory definition; that comparison is not an independent industry benchmark.
Will a GOAT work in your garden?
Before choosing a model, assess the lawn’s actual grass area and route—not just the total size of the property. A large, continuous lawn with clear borders is a more plausible fit than several disconnected patches separated by surfaces the mower cannot cross.
- Likely to suit: mostly continuous grass; defined boundaries; a charging location the mower can reach; passages wide enough for the selected model; and slopes within that model’s stated limit.
- Needs careful checking: multiple lawn zones, tight passages, low or visually ambiguous boundaries, and borders next to beds, gravel or paving. Confirm the route between zones and expect to inspect and possibly edit the map.
- Likely to cause trouble: lawns divided by gravel or pebbles, deep drops, steps or curbs, very narrow passages, wet or soft ground, dense overgrowth, or frequent toys, hoses and other movable obstacles.
ECOVACS support says the relevant GOAT documentation sets a maximum slope of 27° (50%) and warns that lawns split by gravel can be inaccessible; passage limits depend on the model and layout. The company recommends cutting grass below about 10cm before the first mowing and avoiding wet conditions, which can leave the mower stuck. These constraints matter more than a fast mapping headline: a mower cannot maintain a section it cannot safely reach.
For a first deployment, clear loose objects, check that the grass is within the recommended starting height, and validate the map before relying on scheduled mowing. If your yard has steep transitions, disconnected sections or surfaces the mower may mistake for lawn, consider a physical barrier, a revised route or a different mowing approach. Leave a margin below the advertised slope limit rather than treating a maximum claim as a sensible everyday target.
Safety, upkeep and the limits of obstacle avoidance
AI vision and obstacle sensing are aids, not a guarantee of safety. Small objects, wildlife, partly obscured items and moving targets may be missed. Inspect the lawn before operation, follow the specific model’s safety instructions, and keep children and pets from treating the mower as a toy. The integrated string trimmer is a cutting mechanism and should be treated accordingly.

Expect ordinary setup and maintenance as well as mowing: a suitable powered dock location, map checks, cleaning, blade and cutting-string upkeep, and occasional troubleshooting. Advanced map and scheduling features may depend on the ECOVACS HOME app and network connection. Check regional warranty and service arrangements before buying an expensive autonomous mower.

DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI
The T90 PRO OMNI is a robot vacuum and mop paired with an OMNI service station. ECOVACS claims 30,000Pa suction, a 27cm (10.63-inch) OZMO Roller 3.0 mop rotating at up to 200rpm, and mop washing with water up to 75°C. The company also claims PowerBoost can restore 10% battery in three minutes and that the robot can clean up to 500m² on maximum mode. Launch coverage reported four-wheel drive and the ability to negotiate steps up to 4cm. These specifications and capabilities are product claims, not independent performance findings; homes with clutter, cables, unusual thresholds or delicate rugs should weigh those limitations when considering any robot cleaner.
The UK launch report gave March 9, 2026 as the T90 PRO OMNI launch date. The US ECOVACS store listed it at $799.99 when checked on August 16, 2026, with availability shown as changing. That observed US price and stock status are a dated snapshot, not a current guarantee.
WINBOT window cleaners
The UK announcement named the WINBOT W2S OMNI and WINBOT mini 2, with UK launch coverage listing £529 and £279 respectively. The mini 2 was described as 55mm thick; the W2S OMNI features cited included triple spray nozzles, a battery-equipped station and 12-tier protection. These are separate products from the WINBOT W3 OMNI, which features prominently in current US listings. The US store showed the W3 OMNI at $699.99 on August 16, 2026, and describes a Vortex Wash station and 12-level protection.
Window-cleaning robots are for compatible, smooth glass—not every pane, frame or surface. Check the manufacturer’s surface and installation guidance, including safety-cable requirements, before use. They are a specialised convenience for suitable glass areas, not a universal replacement for conventional window cleaning.

Prices and availability depend on market
The UK prices and dates in launch coverage should not be read as US pricing or universal availability. Conversely, US store listings can change with stock and promotions. The following are dated reference points from the cited announcement and store pages, not live quotes:
- UK launch coverage: WINBOT W2S OMNI, £529; WINBOT mini 2, £279; the T90 PRO OMNI was due March 9, 2026.
- US store snapshot, August 16, 2026: DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI, $799.99 with availability changing; WINBOT W3 OMNI, $699.99. The store also showed an O1000 RTK care-kit option at $700, reduced from $999.99.
Verify the exact model, package, local service coverage, current price and stock on the regional ECOVACS site before buying. An O1000 care-kit listing is not necessarily the same purchase as a mower-only listing.
Who should consider the new GOAT?
The most meaningful GOAT upgrades are the attempt to make wire-free mapping simpler and the addition of integrated edging. They could appeal to early adopters with a continuous, reasonably clear lawn who want less routine mowing and are comfortable checking maps and maintaining a robotic mower. The case is weaker for gardens with gravel-separated lawns, inaccessible zones, wet or soft ground, tricky borders or safety-sensitive clutter.
If reliability on a complex garden is essential, wait for independent testing rather than treating “under a minute,” obstacle counts or edge-cutting figures as established real-world results. Compare the GOAT with traditional wire-boundary mowers, RTK-assisted systems, camera-led designs or a conventional electric mower: each approach has different setup and site constraints. The right choice depends on whether the machine can reach and safely handle your lawn, not simply how quickly it claims to map it.
