Deepfake AI voices in music are made by converting or generating a singer’s vocal identity with an AI model. The safest useful workflow is to record an original performance, use a voice you created or have permission to use, label the result clearly, and check the platform’s release terms before publishing. A converted voice can retain the source melody, rhythm and lyrics; a generated voice can instead sing text or MIDI.
What Makes A Music Voice Deepfake
Music requires more than speech imitation. The system must follow pitch, timing, phrasing, breath and sustained notes while keeping the backing track intact. Voice conversion starts with your sung vocal and changes its timbre. Voice cloning builds a model from recordings. Singing synthesis creates a new performance from lyrics, melody or MIDI. The output may sound convincing while still containing artifacts, so treat it as a production layer that needs editing and disclosure.
A Safe Deepfake Voice Workflow
- Choose an original song, an instrumental you may use, or a track whose rights you have cleared.
- Record a clean guide vocal with the melody and lyrics you want to keep.
- Separate the vocal and accompaniment when necessary. A stem tool can help, but check whether its plan permits full downloads.
- Use an authorized custom model or a royalty-free/ethically licensed model. Do not upload another person’s voice without their consent.
- Set the target voice, pitch and expression conservatively, then render a short section first.
- Correct timing, breaths, sibilance and doubled notes in your DAW before mixing.
- Label the release as AI-assisted or AI-generated where appropriate, and read the service’s current terms for ownership, commercial use and model restrictions.

Use its Voice Changer or Voice Cloner for a personal model, and its stem separation when you need a vocal isolated from a mix. The Starter plan allows previews but not full result downloads; batch processing is paid. Consent and terms: only model a voice you control or have permission to use, and check the current terms before releasing a transformed track.

Consent and terms: that statement does not establish permission for a specific singer, so use an authorized voice and read the model terms.

Prompt And Editing Examples
For a converter, describe the performance you already recorded: “Convert this dry lead vocal to my authorized alto model; preserve the original melody, lyrics, timing and breaths; render the chorus first.” For a synthesis workflow, provide the musical controls the tool accepts: “Sing these lyrics in the supplied MIDI melody with a restrained pop delivery; export a dry vocal.” If a service does not document MIDI, languages, genres or export formats, treat that capability as unconfirmed and check its site.

Limits You Should Expect
- A convincing timbre does not prove that the singer consented or that the song is cleared.
- Voice conversion can carry over pitch errors, room noise and breaths from the guide performance.
- Free tiers may preview results without allowing downloads, or may limit minutes, voice slots or songs.
- Artist-style or named-voice models can have extra approval rules even when a platform offers commercial plans.
- Platform features, pricing and terms can change, so verify them immediately before publishing.
