Overview

ServiceM8 is field-service software made by a company based in Darwin, Australia. It brings job administration and team coordination into one platform, with tools for tracking work, managing recurring jobs and handling customer payments. ServiceM8 says contractors worldwide use it to manage more than $50 billion in jobs.

The software supports Android, iOS and macOS, and a separate ServiceM8 Desktop app is available for Mac or PC. Offline mode is supported, so teams can continue working when a connection is unavailable.

Key features

Team tools give managers a view of staff locations and job progress. Staff can communicate through messaging, while activity feeds and timesheets help keep work updates and hours visible. Route optimization can help coordinate visits, and recurring jobs are supported.

Customers can use a portal, and businesses can invoice and accept card payments on site or online. Tap to Pay on iPhone is also available. Accounting connections include Xero, QuickBooks Online and MYOB. Other integrations include Mailchimp, Deputy, n8n, Zapier, add-ons and a REST API.

Account security includes two-step authentication and a 90-day activity log. On paid plans, support includes 24/7 chat and email; help videos and partners are also available.

Pricing

ServiceM8 has a free plan and a 14-day trial. Listed paid plans range from $29 to $349 per month. Prices are in AUD and include GST. The homepage says there are no hidden fees and no contracts.

Who it's for

ServiceM8 may suit contractors who need to coordinate field teams, manage repeat visits, communicate with customers and take payments. Its job limits distinguish the plans: a solo operator with lighter monthly volume can start on Free, while growing teams can use paid plans with unlimited users and higher job allowances. The integrations may also be useful for businesses already working with Xero, QuickBooks Online or MYOB.
