For a radio that mounts beneath a kitchen cabinet, the iLive IKBC384S is the clearest current option identified: iLive lists it at $79.99 in its under-cabinet category. But the choice is limited, and the documented iLive models are FM-focused. If AM reception matters more than freeing counter space, consider a countertop radio such as the Sangean WR-50 instead.

Important distinction: The WR-50 and SG-118 are countertop radios, not under-cabinet mounting products. A Bluetooth speaker is not a radio unless it has a tuner; Bluetooth sends audio from a phone or other paired device.

The IKBC384S is the most straightforward starting point if your priority is mounting a music system beneath an upper cabinet rather than using counter space. It appears in iLive’s official under-cabinet category, which listed it for $79.99 and showed an add-to-cart option in the August 16, 2026 snapshot.

The accessible category listing does not provide a complete specification sheet. Treat Bluetooth as part of the listed product description, but verify details such as tuner bands, timer functions, mounting hardware and any CD support on the live product page or manual before purchase. A third-party comparison describes CD playback, but that detail is not confirmed in the official listing available here.
That limitation matters: do not buy on the assumption that it receives AM, includes a cooking countdown timer, or plays CDs unless the manufacturer’s current documentation confirms it. It is the leading candidate by category fit and observed availability, not a proven winner for sound quality or reception.

Availability-dependent models
iLive IKB318S: useful features, but officially out of stock
The IKB318S is a genuine mounted design with a useful kitchen-focused feature set: digital FM tuning with 20 presets, Bluetooth, a clock, one alarm, a countdown timer, display dimming, an under-cabinet light, built-in stereo speakers, and included spacers and screws. iLive lists dimensions of 11.5 × 3.13 × 8.31 inches. Its product page showed a $39.99 price but listed the model as out of stock, so treat it as an availability-dependent option, not a reliable buy-now recommendation.
It is FM-only according to the manufacturer’s listed specifications. It also needs its AC/DC adapter for normal playback. Two AAA batteries (not included) preserve the clock and settings during a short outage; they do not run the radio or Bluetooth audio.

iLive IKTD1037S: an oversized all-in-one, also out of stock
This system adds a 10-inch swivel display, FM with 20 presets, Bluetooth, CD and DVD playback, a remote, clock and timer, plus HDMI, USB, composite video, RF, RCA and auxiliary connections. It includes under-cabinet mounting hardware, but iLive listed it at $229.99 and out of stock in the snapshot. It makes sense only if you specifically want its legacy-media and screen features; it is excessive for someone looking for a simple kitchen radio.
When a countertop radio is the better choice
If you use AM for talk radio, sports, local news or emergency information, do not assume an under-cabinet FM/Bluetooth unit will meet your needs. The documented iLive models above are FM-focused. The Sangean WR-50 is a tabletop AM/FM radio with Bluetooth, AUX input, bass and treble controls, headphone output, subwoofer output, and clock, alarm, snooze and sleep functions. Its listed dimensions are 5.04 × 8.39 × 6.93 inches and its weight is 4.3 pounds. It gives up mounted installation but offers more source and tuning flexibility.

The Sangean SG-118 is another countertop AM/FM option. It includes Bluetooth 4.1, NFC pairing, AUX, a USB 5V/1A charging port and a 6.5W speaker in a wooden/MDF cabinet. It measures 9.45 × 4.69 × 6.61 inches and weighs 5.24 pounds. It is not a mounting solution, and its feature list does not include a clock display.

These manufacturer specifications do not establish which radio will sound better or receive more stations in your kitchen. Reception depends on location, building materials, interference and station signal; compare the form factor and features rather than relying on unsupported claims of superior performance.

Choose by the feature you will actually use
- Need a true mount? Start with a model explicitly sold for under-cabinet installation and confirm that its hardware and dimensions suit your cabinet. Do not mistake a small tabletop radio for a mountable one.
- Need AM? Favor a verified AM/FM countertop unit unless you find a currently available, manufacturer-documented under-cabinet AM/FM model.
- Want Bluetooth? It lets you play audio from a paired phone or other device, including streaming apps and downloaded audio. It does not provide internet radio by itself. Terrestrial FM needs no phone or streaming connection.
- Want a CD player? Confirm support for the exact model in its current manual. CD playback is useful for physical collections, children’s discs or audiobooks, but adds bulk and a mechanical component. Under a shallow cabinet, make sure a disc mechanism is accessible.
- Need a kitchen timer? Look specifically for a countdown timer. A clock shows the time; an alarm sounds at a set time; a sleep timer stops audio after a period. Those functions are not interchangeable.
- Need outage resilience? Distinguish clock/preset backup from battery-powered playback. The IKB318S backup batteries preserve settings only; the unit does not keep playing during a power failure.
- Rent or have no suitable cabinet? A countertop radio avoids drilling and may be the simpler choice. A Bluetooth speaker is another option if you do not need a built-in radio tuner.
Measure and install before you commit
Check the cabinet and outlet before ordering. A unit can fit on paper yet block a door, collide with a hinge, sit too far forward, or leave its controls hard to reach.
- Measure the flat underside area, including available width and front-to-back depth. Account for the unit’s full dimensions, spacers and any projecting controls.
- Check door swing, handles, hinges, trim and under-cabinet lighting. Make sure the display and controls will remain accessible.
- Identify a safe outlet route. The power cord should reach without crossing a sink, hot surface or place where it can snag.
- Inspect the cabinet material. Mount only where the underside is solid and strong enough to hold the unit. Do not assume screws are suitable for thin decorative veneer, unsupported particleboard or a panel weakened by lighting cutouts.
- For a model supplied with mounting hardware, use its instructions to mark holes and drill appropriately sized pilot holes if needed. Use spacers as directed and avoid overtightening; the hardware and method can vary by model and cabinet.
- After mounting, check that the unit is secure, controls are reachable, doors move freely and ventilation openings are unobstructed. Route the adapter and cord safely before plugging in.
Keep electronics away from direct steam and grease. Do not install over a range, cooktop, toaster oven or sink unless the product instructions explicitly allow that location. Avoid spraying cleaner onto the unit; use a lightly damp cloth. A radio is not a substitute for a code-compliant smoke or carbon-monoxide alarm.
Operating and troubleshooting the IKB318S

- Listen to FM: Press Source to select Radio. Use Tune +/- to change stations; hold a Tune button for auto-search.
- Save a preset: Tune to a station, press and hold Play/Pause (MEM/CLK), then press Play/Pause to cycle saved presets.
- Set clock, alarm or timer: With the unit off, press and hold MEM/CLK to set the clock. Press Alarm or Timer and follow the prompts for those functions.
- Use the light and dimmer: Press Light/Dimmer to switch the light; press and hold to dim the display.
If FM reception or operation is poor, first check the power connection and confirm that Radio—not Bluetooth—is selected. iLive also advises checking for interference from nearby electronics, particularly fluorescent lights. The manufacturer lists a 60-foot Bluetooth range, but that is a specification, not a guarantee of performance through kitchen walls, appliances or interference.
