At CES 2025, Aqara announced a wider smart-home lineup built around more than standalone sensors: wall-mounted control screens, touchscreen switches, presence and climate sensors, and devices that combine cameras or controls with hub functions. The headline was the 6.9-inch Panel Hub S1 Plus, designed to put lights, scenes and other connected devices within reach without opening a phone app.
The announcements covered different regions and launch windows, and an announcement was not a guarantee of immediate retail availability. Aqara’s original CES announcement gave expected timing for some products but did not provide prices for several sensors and hubs. Treat the dates below as targets announced in January 2025, not confirmation of current stock.
A wall-mounted control point is the centerpiece
The Panel Hub S1 Plus is a 6.9-inch in-wall touchscreen intended to replace a traditional switch location with a fixed control interface. Aqara said it can directly control up to two wired lights and offer wireless control of lights, cameras, locks, thermostats, curtains and scenes. It also combines dual-band Wi-Fi, an Aqara Zigbee hub and a Matter bridge for Aqara Zigbee devices.
That mix matters: the panel is not simply a universal Matter screen that automatically controls every third-party product. Its Zigbee and bridge functions are tied to Aqara’s device ecosystem, and the devices and features available through other platforms may differ. It is also an in-wall electrical product, so a suitable box, compatible wiring and compliance with local rules are prerequisites; use a qualified electrician if you are not equipped to work safely with mains wiring.

Aqara’s January 2025 target was a later-January launch for the EU version and later in 2025 for North America. Those were announced expectations, not present-day availability confirmation. See Aqara’s Panel Hub S1 Plus support page and controller catalog for product and support information.
Touchscreens, a dial and switches for different regions
Aqara also previewed several ways to put physical controls and status information on a wall. They are not interchangeable regional variants, and their screen or button functions may depend on Aqara Home or the connected platform.
- Touchscreen Dial V1: A 1.32-inch round display sits inside a rotary dial with haptic feedback. It can control up to two wired light fixtures and wirelessly adjust devices or scenes, including lighting, curtain position and thermostat temperature. Temperature and humidity sensing and proximity detection are built in. Aqara targeted the EU model for January 2025 and the US version later that year.
- Display Switch V1 EU: A two-channel switch with an LCD, configurable labels and extra wireless buttons for devices and scenes. It was announced as an EU product; do not assume it is a North American option.
- Touchscreen Switch S100 US: This North American two-channel switch combines physical buttons with a 1.3-inch touchscreen. Aqara announced dual-band Wi-Fi, Thread, Matter over Wi-Fi, Thread Border Router capability, proximity sensing and a light sensor for adaptive screen brightness. It can control wired lights as well as smart devices and scenes, but Matter support does not guarantee that its display, advanced settings or every button function appears identically in Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa or SmartThings.
- Light Switch H2 and Dimmer Switch H2: First announced at IFA 2024, these switches were part of Aqara’s CES push into North America. The US H2 switches were described as supporting Thread and Zigbee, with Matter interoperability, and as designed to accommodate installations with or without a neutral wire. Aqara listed US Light Switch H2 variants with two buttons and one channel, two buttons and two channels, or four buttons and three channels. The Light Switch H2 was targeted for Q1 2025; the US Dimmer Switch H2 was expected later in 2025.
“No neutral wire required” is not a promise that a switch fits every electrical installation. Load type, minimum load, box depth, grounding and local code still matter, and the EU and US versions should be treated as separate products. Aqara’s controller catalog lists product families and variants; check the exact model’s documentation and local availability before planning an installation.

Two sensors: occupancy and visible room conditions
The Presence Multi-Sensor FP300 combines passive infrared (PIR) and millimeter-wave (mmWave) sensing. A basic motion sensor detects movement; presence sensing aims to tell whether someone remains in a room even when still. PIR detects changes in infrared radiation, while mmWave can register smaller movements. Aqara announced Thread and Zigbee connectivity, Matter support, and separate light, temperature and humidity sensing. The device is battery-powered, with runtime advertised at up to two years—not a guaranteed interval.
Placement and settings affect results. Fans, moving curtains, reflective surfaces and pet movement can contribute to false presence readings, while reporting frequency and wireless protocol can affect battery life. Matter may make basic device data available across ecosystems, but it does not ensure that every Aqara-specific reading or automation is exposed in every app. Aqara’s current US catalog includes its sensor range; confirm the exact model and support in your chosen ecosystem.
The Climate Sensor W100 is a more visible room device: it displays temperature and humidity, can show a second data source such as local weather or another Aqara sensor, and adds three buttons for devices or scenes. Aqara said it supports Thread and Zigbee and can pair with an Aqara thermostat for local climate adjustment. A weather value is not necessarily a measurement from an outdoor sensor, and the W100’s room readings should not be treated as calibrated instrumentation. As with other Thread and Zigbee products, the connection path depends on having a compatible controller or hub.

Doorbell and compact hub round out the lineup
The Doorbell Camera Hub G410 combines a video doorbell with smart-home hub functions. Aqara announced 2K video, a 176-degree field of view, dual-band Wi-Fi, Thread and Zigbee, battery or wired installation, mmWave-based presence detection, and a hub role for Aqara and third-party Matter devices. Aqara also highlighted Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home and SmartThings integration, HomeKit Secure Video, on-device facial recognition, cloud and local-storage options, and RTSP streaming for third-party local-network clients such as Home Assistant.
These features should not be read as identical support across every platform. HomeKit Secure Video depends on Apple’s requirements and the user’s iCloud+ plan; RTSP users should verify the stream’s behavior, resolution, authentication and firmware support for their setup. Aqara described live and recorded video as end-to-end encrypted, but buyers should check the privacy and retention details for the specific storage and viewing path they intend to use. Facial recognition, cloud options and camera placement are worth considering before installation.
The Hub M100 is the more compact infrastructure option: a USB-powered device Aqara described as an entry-level Matter Controller with Wi-Fi, Thread and Zigbee. It can act as a Thread Border Router and bridge Aqara Zigbee devices into Matter, as well as manage Aqara devices and hundreds of third-party Matter devices. It may suit a home that needs those functions in a small hub, but it can duplicate a Thread Border Router or Matter controller already provided by Apple, Google, Amazon, Samsung or another system. Check which functions your existing equipment already supplies before adding another hub.

Matter, Thread and Zigbee do different jobs
These terms describe different layers, not three names for the same kind of compatibility:
- Matter is an application standard designed to help compatible smart-home products work across ecosystems. It can run over networks such as Wi-Fi or Thread; “Matter compatible” alone does not specify every feature an app will expose.
- Thread is a low-power mesh network. Thread devices generally need a Thread Border Router to reach the home IP network and connected services.
- Zigbee is a separate wireless protocol still used by Aqara devices. A compatible Aqara hub can bridge supported Zigbee devices to Matter, but bridging does not necessarily expose every device feature to every platform.
A Matter Controller manages Matter devices; a Thread Border Router connects a Thread network to the home IP network; and a Matter bridge makes supported devices using another protocol, such as Zigbee, available through Matter. Some CES products combine more than one role, but those roles do not make the devices’ advanced functions universally compatible.

Announced timing and regional scope
The table summarizes Aqara’s January 2025 announcement. It records launch targets as announced then—not verified current retail status. Prices for several sensors and hubs were not disclosed in the CES announcement, and no price is inferred here.

For current product names, regional variants and support routes, use Aqara’s controller catalog, US catalog and support and where-to-buy portal. A catalog listing is not, by itself, proof that a specific version is in stock in your country.
Which products fit which homes?
- For a fixed household control point: Consider the Panel Hub S1 Plus if you have a suitable wired location and want an Aqara Zigbee hub, Matter bridge and screen in one installation. For a US wall switch with built-in Thread and Matter functions, the S100 is the more region-specific option to investigate.
- For occupancy automations: The FP300 combines presence and environmental data, but it requires thoughtful placement and may need sensitivity tuning. A simpler motion sensor may be more appropriate if all you need is a light trigger.
- For visible climate status and quick controls: The W100 makes room conditions and scene buttons accessible at a glance; verify the data sources and hub requirements for your setup.
- For doorbell and local video workflows: The G410’s RTSP and hub functions may appeal if your local-network setup supports them. Weigh those benefits against camera privacy, storage and platform-specific recording constraints.
- For a compact Aqara/Matter hub: The M100 is relevant if you need its controller, Thread and Zigbee roles. If you already have a capable hub or Border Router, adding it may provide little benefit.
Renters or anyone avoiding electrical work should favor battery sensors and plug-in hubs over the in-wall panels and switches. Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings and Home Assistant users should verify support for the specific function they need—not just the Matter logo or broad platform compatibility claim.
