Anker SOLIX announced the E10 on January 12, 2026, as a configurable whole-home backup system combining batteries, solar input and a fuel-powered generator. Sales were scheduled to begin February 4 in the continental United States. Its “infinite power” pitch does not mean unlimited stored electricity: long-duration backup depends on fuel, generator operation, compatible electrical equipment and the home’s loads.

For homeowners planning a backup installation, the key choices are how much battery capacity they need and whether to use the automatic whole-panel Power Dock or the manual-transfer Smart Inlet Box. The headline hardware prices announced at launch ranged from $4,299 to $7,399, before installation and other project costs.

What the E10 system includes

The E10 is an ecosystem, not a single portable battery. Its components have distinct jobs:

  • E10 Power Module: The inverter and controls that convert and manage power for the home.
  • B6000 Battery Module: A modular battery with 6 kWh of listed storage capacity.
  • Power Dock: An automatic transfer and service-panel integration option intended for whole-home backup.
  • Smart Inlet Box: A manual-transfer alternative for customers seeking a less automated configuration.
  • Smart Generator 5500: An optional fuel-powered range extender that charges the battery through a DC connection.
  • Solar array: Solar can charge the system and, when configured appropriately, contribute during an outage.

Anker calls the E10 the “world’s first” smart hybrid whole-home backup solution. That is the company’s claim; its product-page footnote defines the distinction more narrowly as an integrated DC range-extender approach commercially available as of January 12, 2026. It is not an independently verified category-wide ranking. Anker’s product page describes the current system and specifications.

How “infinite backup” is supposed to work

The E10 is designed to combine three sources: grid power when available, solar generation when conditions permit, and fuel-powered generation when battery reserves or solar output are insufficient. In a typical outage, the Power Dock transfers the home to battery backup, solar contributes if available, and the generator can replenish the battery when needed. The battery then supplies household loads while the generator’s operating time is managed.

“Infinite power” is marketing shorthand for backup that can potentially be extended as long as fuel and operating conditions allow. The batteries store a finite amount of energy. A fuel-based extension still requires a working generator, an available and compatible fuel supply, suitable installation and ventilation, and periodic maintenance. Weather, load, fuel availability, local rules and equipment limits can interrupt that plan. Solar may extend operation, but it is not guaranteed to produce enough during a storm or other outage.

Anker promotes DC generator charging as providing up to five times the backup electricity from the same fuel compared with a conventional standby-generator arrangement. That is a manufacturer comparison, not a universal or independently verified result. Actual fuel use and delivered electricity depend on load, generator operating point, conversion losses, weather and the comparison setup.

Capacity and output: storage is not the same as power

Two specifications answer different questions: kilowatt-hours (kWh) describe stored energy and help estimate duration; kilowatts (kW) describe how much power can be delivered at once. Motor-starting capability is another consideration: compressors and pumps may need a brief surge well above their ordinary running draw.

Configuration Advertised maximum storage Advertised maximum solar input
One E10 30 kWh 9 kW
Two E10 units 60 kWh 18 kW
Three E10 units 90 kWh 27 kW

Each B6000 module is listed at 6 kWh. The official page advertises up to 30 kWh per E10 and up to 90 kWh with three E10 units. Anker also describes a range of roughly one to 15 days of backup, but actual runtime depends on household consumption, configuration, solar production and generator use; it is not a guaranteed duration.

Specification Anker-listed figure What it means for a buyer
AC output 120/240 V split phase, 60 Hz Designed for typical U.S. split-phase home electrical service, subject to installation and configuration.
Continuous output 7,680 W / 32 A per E10 The listed sustained output for one E10—not the amount of energy stored.
Turbo output 10,000 W / 41.6 A for up to 90 minutes with two or more batteries A time-limited elevated output claim; confirm the exact configuration needed.

Enclosure and temperature NEMA Type 4 / IP66; –4°F to 131°F (–20°C to 55°C) Ratings do not remove the need to plan for flood elevation, snow, site exposure or local code.
E10 size and weight 26.4 × 11.8 × 10.2 in; 60.6 lb Relevant to siting, mounting and access for installation.

These figures are Anker’s published specifications, not independent performance-test results. See the official E10 specifications for configuration details.

Whole-panel backup: Power Dock or Smart Inlet Box?

The choice of interface affects how the home connects to the system and how an outage is handled.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Power Dock: Anker advertises automatic transfer, a switchover time of 20 milliseconds or less, 200A whole-home integration and support for up to three E10 units per dock.
  • Smart Inlet Box: A manual-transfer option. It may suit buyers seeking a lower-cost or less automated setup, but someone must perform the transfer as directed when the grid fails.

“200A whole-home” describes service-panel integration and circuit coverage; it does not mean the battery can continuously deliver 200 amps at household voltage. The actual simultaneous-load ceiling remains subject to inverter output, battery configuration and system limits. A whole-panel connection also does not guarantee that every appliance can run at once.

Rank #3
Anker SOLIX E10 Prime, Extra Battery, 12kWh-90kWh, 10kW Output
  • OFF-GRID HYBRID POWER: 7.6kW Continuous, scales to 22.8kW. 10kW Turbo Output, scales to 30kW Turbo with triple units.
  • 9–27KW MASSIVE SOLAR POWER: Prime ships with 10 × 440W panels (9kW), Ultra with 20 panels (18kW) — expandable to 27kW with triple E10. Dual MPPT per unit for fast solar recharging all day.

  • 6–90KWH BATTERY: Prime starts at 30kWh, Ultra delivers 60kWh — both expandable to 90kWh with triple E10 for months of uninterrupted off-grid power.
  • 10–30KW ULTIMATE OUTPUT POWER: Prime handles everyday loads at 10kW turbo; Ultra delivers 20kW turbo for central AC, well pump, and kitchen — scale to 30kW with triple E10 for highest-demand homes.

Do not assume that the base E10 package automatically provides automatic whole-home transfer. Confirm exactly which modules, switching equipment and installation work are included in the proposed configuration.

Can it run central air conditioning?

Anker says a configured E10 can start a five-ton central air conditioner, but tonnage alone cannot establish compatibility. Air conditioners and other motors can draw a high starting surge. Compare the HVAC equipment’s nameplate locked-rotor amperage (LRA) and running requirements with the E10 configuration’s published starting and continuous limits. Ask the installer to account for other loads that may operate at the same time; a soft-start device may also affect the calculation.

The same check matters for well pumps, pool pumps, heat pumps, electric ranges, water heaters and EV chargers. A system may have enough stored energy to run an appliance for some time but still lack the instantaneous output or starting capacity to run it alongside other large loads.

Solar and generator integration

Anker lists up to 9 kW of direct solar input per E10 across two MPPT inputs, with each input rated for up to 4,500 W and a listed range of 30–450 V DC. The company also says the system can work with existing solar through AC coupling and frequency-shift support, subject to technical requirements. That is not a guarantee that every existing solar inverter will work. Have Anker or a qualified solar installer confirm compatibility in writing, including the inverter, coupling method, voltage, current and islanding behavior.

Solar production can drop sharply because of cloud cover, snow, smoke, shade or storm damage. During a grid outage, the array and inverter must be configured to operate safely without the grid. Ask the installer how the system behaves when solar production exceeds what it can accept and whether existing equipment can continue operating in island mode.

The Smart Generator 5500 is described as tri-fuel, with gasoline, propane and natural gas cited in launch coverage. Confirm the exact fuel configuration, connections, clearances and installation requirements for the model and location. Fuel plumbing, exhaust, noise, storage and local permitting may all affect whether the generator is practical. The battery can operate without the generator, but then extended backup depends on stored energy, solar and any other configured charging source.

Installation is part of the system

A whole-home system connected to a service panel is not the same as plugging a portable battery into a wall outlet. Even if modular expansion is marketed as straightforward, panel integration, transfer equipment, grounding, solar coupling and any fuel connection need to be planned for the specific home. Use a qualified electrician and appropriate licensed solar or fuel professionals, and confirm local permits, utility requirements and inspections.

Before approving a design, ask:

  • Which circuits will be backed up, and how are loads prioritized or shed during an outage?
  • Does the home have compatible 120/240 V split-phase service and enough space for the equipment?
  • Will the project need a transfer switch, subpanel, panel changes or utility approval?
  • Is the existing solar inverter compatible, and what are the array’s voltage and current?
  • Where can the E10, batteries and generator be installed, considering flood risk, weather, exhaust and required clearances?
  • What fuel supply will be available in a multi-day outage, and what generator service is required?
  • What happens if the battery is depleted, fuel is interrupted, or app and internet connectivity are unavailable?
  • What are the installed price, warranty terms, battery-expansion cost, delivery and service arrangements?

Anker lists the E10 enclosure as NEMA Type 4 / IP66 and an operating range of –4°F to 131°F, with wall- and floor-mounting options. Those ratings do not mean every component can be placed anywhere: site conditions, generator exhaust, fuel, flood elevation, snow and local electrical and fire rules still matter.

Launch pricing and warranty

Anker’s January 2026 launch announcement listed these package prices:

Launch package Announced price
E10 base system: one inverter and one battery $4,299
E10 with Smart Inlet Box $4,599
E10 with Power Dock $5,799
E10, Smart Generator and Power Dock $7,399

These are launch prices, not a confirmed current quote. The announcement said preorders opened January 12, 2026, with sales scheduled for February 4. It also described a $10 preorder deposit, a possible $500 coupon and a promotional gift package; those were launch-period offers, not current promotions. Check the official product page for current configurations and pricing.

Hardware is only part of a whole-home project. Budget separately for battery expansion, solar panels or inverter work, professional installation, permits and inspections, panel modifications, fuel-line work, delivery, taxes and ongoing generator fuel and maintenance. Anker advertises installation support, but the retrieved launch materials do not provide a location-specific installed price.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The official product page lists a five-year E10 warranty, a 10-year Power Dock warranty and a three-year Smart Generator 5500 warranty. Launch materials separately described an extended-warranty preorder offer. Read the written terms for the exact product and purchase rather than assuming that all components share the same coverage or that an expired launch offer applies.

Who may find the E10 a good fit?

The system is worth evaluating if you want whole-panel backup, have frequent or long outages, can arrange professional installation, and value battery operation for ordinary outages plus fuel-based charging for longer ones. It may also suit a home with a substantial compatible solar array, or one where motor-starting capacity is important and the specific HVAC or pump loads have been checked.

It is a weaker fit if you only need to keep a refrigerator, router, lights and phones running; want a simple plug-in emergency battery; cannot store or access fuel; want a battery-only, zero-fuel setup; or cannot accommodate the electrical and site work. It may also disappoint a buyer who assumes the base package automatically backs up every circuit or that an existing solar inverter will necessarily be compatible.

How it compares with other backup approaches

  • Conventional standby generator: A generator may be a more straightforward choice for long outages when a reliable fuel supply is available. Compared with the E10 approach, it does not provide the same battery buffering, quiet battery-only operation or solar-storage integration.
  • Battery-only home storage: A battery-first system such as a Tesla Powerwall or FranklinWH platform may appeal to homeowners prioritizing solar storage and operation without a fuel generator. Long outages then depend on battery capacity, solar conditions and other charging options. Compare each provider’s system design, installation, compatibility and current terms directly: Tesla Powerwall and FranklinWH.
  • Portable power station: A modular product such as EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra may be relevant for flexible or partial-home backup, but service-panel transfer and whole-home operation must be assessed separately. See EcoFlow’s product page.

These are different system types, not direct performance rankings. Verify current specifications, compatibility, installation scope and prices before comparing a quote.
