The eufy Robot Vacuum 3-in-1 E20 is best understood as a capable robot vacuum with two useful manual-cleaning modes—not as three equivalent vacuums in one box. Its removable module converts into a stick or handheld vacuum, and the shared base can charge and empty it. That is a practical space-saving idea for homes that want automated floor cleaning plus occasional spot cleaning. The compromises are equally clear: no mopping, limited maximum-power runtime in manual mode, and ergonomics that do not match a dedicated premium cordless vacuum.
Verdict: Buy the E20 for its combination of automation and flexibility, not because it is the best robot vacuum or stick vacuum for the money. It makes most sense when storage is tight and manual vacuuming is occasional. See eufy’s E20 product page for current availability and pricing.

What the eufy E20 is—and what it is not
The E20 is a vacuum-only system with three configurations: an autonomous robot, a cordless stick vacuum, and a handheld vacuum. The same removable module supplies the motor, filtration, and dust cup in the manual configurations. The base charges the module and can empty dust from either the robot or the manual vacuum.

That makes the E20 more versatile than a conventional robot vacuum, but “three-in-one” should not be mistaken for three equally capable standalone products. The robot mode is the strongest reason to buy it; stick and handheld modes are convenient supplements. It has no mop function, so it cannot replace a robot vacuum/mop if wet cleaning is a priority. Android Authority’s review also identifies the lack of mopping as a key limitation.

How the transformation works
Conversion is straightforward. Engadget found that changing configurations required little adjustment beyond removing the module and attaching the desired tool. Engadget’s hands-on review describes the process.
- Press the red release button on the robot and lift out the vacuum module.
- For floor cleaning, attach the extension tube and motorized floor head. For handheld jobs, use the shorter combination tool.
- To return to robot mode, reinstall the module in the robot body.
- For charging and dust disposal, place the module or assembled robot in the base as appropriate.
The convenience is real: one motor module does several jobs, rather than requiring a second full-size vacuum motor and charging setup. But the tube and heads still need a home. The wall-mounted accessory bracket is sold separately, and eufy’s accessory listing shows a bracket at a displayed US sale price of $16; prices and availability can change. Robot-vacuum performance is the E20’s strongest mode
Hands-on reviews generally find the robot mode more convincing than the manual modes. Engadget reported strong cleaning and avoidance of most objects, while Android Authority found it dependable for routine floor cleaning. Android Authority also noted that the hybrid body can be bulkier than some competing robot vacuums, which matters if you want it to reach beneath low furniture.
On hard floors and for routine debris, the robot is positioned as an everyday maintenance cleaner rather than a replacement for every occasional deep clean. Carpet performance is useful for ordinary upkeep, but the available reviews do not establish that it will match a dedicated high-end cleaner across thick carpet or heavy debris. After mapping, use the app’s Carpet Editing feature to mark carpet areas. Thin rugs may need to be secured or removed so the robot does not catch them.
Mapping, edges, and obstacle avoidance
The E20 maps rooms and supports app-based scheduling and targeted cleaning. eufy advertises three lasers and “millimeter-level” obstacle avoidance, but those are manufacturer claims, not independent measurements. In practice, avoidance helps with many larger obstacles; it does not make floor preparation unnecessary. eufy says the robot detects objects at least 15 mm tall, so small cables, socks, toys, and clothing can remain hazards. Clear these before a run, particularly around furniture and rug edges. eufy’s setup guidance lists preparation steps and carpet advice.
Engadget also found the app’s manual directional controls unusual: they let you drive the robot around like a remote-controlled vehicle. That is a convenience feature, not a substitute for the robot’s mapped autonomous cleaning. Manual stick and handheld operation, by contrast, is conventional button-operated vacuuming rather than autonomous cleaning.
What the suction and filtration figures mean
eufy lists up to 8,000 Pa suction in robot mode and up to 30,000 Pa in stick and handheld modes. It also claims five-stage AeroTurbo filtration and says its internal testing captured 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns. These are manufacturer specifications and test claims; they do not establish a standardized head-to-head cleaning result or medical-grade allergen protection. Pa is only one specification: airflow, brush design, agitation, filtration, and how well the head picks up a particular mess all affect cleaning. eufy’s product page provides the stated specifications.

The stick configuration is handy for a quick pass, a spill, or a small carpeted area. Reviews differ on how capable it feels: Engadget found it merely adequate, often needing the strongest setting and multiple passes for larger debris on carpet; Android Authority was more positive about its ability to clean carpet deeply. Those accounts point to a practical middle ground: the E20 can be powerful enough for spot cleaning and moderate carpet work, but that does not make it a full substitute for a dedicated cordless vacuum.

Ergonomics, balance, head refinement, and sustained runtime matter as much as peak suction. Engadget found the build and experience less refined than dedicated Tineco or Dyson stick vacuums. Android Authority also raised concerns about the hair anti-tangle roller and reported limited battery life at full power. If you vacuum carpet extensively, tackle demanding pet hair, or clean for long stretches at maximum suction, a dedicated stick vacuum is the safer choice.
The compact shared module also means a smaller manual dust cup than many full-size cordless models. Hair and debris in the floor head still need attention; the E20’s hybrid design does not eliminate brush maintenance. Consider the stick mode a convenient second tool, not the system’s primary selling point.
Handheld mode suits small, targeted jobs
With the shorter attachment, the E20’s module is useful for crumbs, stairs, upholstery, car interiors, and pet hair on furniture. It is especially convenient if those jobs come up occasionally and you do not want to store another powered appliance.

The included attachments do not have integrated storage in the box, and the base is not a portable charging stand for a detached handheld module: return the module to the robot/base system for charging. This mode is best for short cleanups, not extended car detailing or whole-home upholstery cleaning.
Auto-emptying is useful, with conditions
The base can empty dust from the robot and from the manual-vacuum module, a meaningful convenience over an ordinary cordless stick vacuum. But auto-emptying does not necessarily happen immediately after every manual session. For the stick module, eufy’s support instructions require more than 10 minutes of operation and battery charge above 2%; automatic emptying also does not start during Do Not Disturb periods.
To configure it in the app, open Settings → Auto Empty Settings and enable Auto Empty for Robot and, for the manual vacuum, Auto Empty for Cordless Stick Vacuum. If emptying does not start, eufy advises manually emptying the dustbin or using the base station. A blocked dust path or a module that is not seated correctly are also sensible things to check if the base does not draw out debris. eufy’s auto-empty instructions cover the documented settings and limits.
Battery life and charging
The manual and robot configurations share the module, so long manual sessions compete with the convenience of having it ready for autonomous cleaning. eufy’s manual lists the following maximum runtime figures; they are rated or laboratory figures, not a promise of whole-home cleaning time. Carpet agitation, suction setting, attachment, battery condition, and layout can reduce actual runtime.

The manual gives an approximate full charging time of 2.5 hours. Engadget likewise reported about 2.5 hours to charge in its testing and said that roughly 20–30 minutes of manual cleaning across three floors generally left about 30% battery. That is one reviewer’s experience, not a guaranteed runtime for every home. The E20 manual is the source for the published mode runtimes.

Setup, placement, and fit under furniture
Measure before buying: not just the dock footprint, but the clear space around it, clearance beneath beds and sofas, and a place to store the manual attachments. The robot measures 350 × 350 × 118 mm; the self-empty station measures 150 × 250 × 386.5 mm. eufy lists the E20 and station dimensions.
For the station, eufy recommends about 0.5 m (1.6 ft) of open space on each side and 1.5 m (4.9 ft) in front. Its first-use guidance also says to remove protective film from the front and side lenses, charge the robot at the base before first use, and use the included dock-assist mat.
- Clear wires, small toys, socks, and loose clothing from the floor before a run.
- Secure or remove thin carpets and small rugs; mark carpet areas with Carpet Editing after mapping.
- For heavy traffic or multiple pets, increase dust-collection frequency and consider Deep Dust Collection in the app.
- Do not run the robot on water; it is not waterproof.
Because the E20 has a relatively tall robot body for a hybrid design, check the 118 mm height against the lowest furniture it needs to clean beneath. Obstacle avoidance and mapping do not compensate for a body that cannot physically fit under a sofa.

The Eufy Clean app handles Wi-Fi setup, mapping, scheduling, room or zone cleaning, cleaning modes, carpet editing, dust-collection frequency, Do Not Disturb, maintenance reminders, and auto-empty settings. Engadget found the app improved substantially but less straightforward than some competing apps because it exposes many settings. Once set up, those controls are useful; expect some initial exploration rather than a completely hands-off configuration.
Routine upkeep still matters, even with the self-emptying base. Check the roller brush and brush guard for hair, clear the manual floor head, clean the filter and side brushes, inspect sensors and laser windows, and keep the dock and charging contacts clean. Replace consumables when their condition or the app’s reminders indicate it is time; the available information does not establish a universal replacement interval.
eufy’s US accessory listing displayed a three-pack of dust bags for $21.99, two side brushes for $16.99, a high-performance filter at a $7.50 sale price, a floor brush at $47.99, a brush guard at $12.99, a base-station non-slip mat at $15.99, and a replacement rolling brush at $14.99 in a captured product listing. Price and value
The available review prices are historical, not a verified current offer: Engadget reported approximately $550 in February 2025, while Android Authority cited a $599.99 MSRP in April 2025. A reliable live US price is not established here, so check the official product page before deciding.
Value depends on whether the manual modes will see regular use. If you want a robot and only need occasional floor or furniture cleanup, combining them in one module can justify the compromises. If you mostly vacuum manually, spending on a dedicated cordless model and a simpler robot—or buying a less expensive robot when you already own a stick vacuum—may serve you better.

- Cluttered homes or low furniture: The E20 still needs floor preparation, and its robot body must physically clear furniture.
- Anyone without room for the station and accessories: The hybrid saves a second motor and appliance, not the dock footprint or accessory storage.
