Amazon’s June 2026 Prime Day sale brought some of the deepest reported discounts of the year on Echo devices: the Echo Dot Max fell to $64.99, a price TechRadar called a record low, while the Echo Show 15 dropped to $249.99. Those were U.S. sale prices reported during June coverage—not verified prices today—so check the live Amazon listing before buying.

TechRadar reported the June Dot prices and described the Dot Max offer as a record low. Its June coverage listed the Show 15 at $249.99, down from $299.99. The other earlier-sale prices are from March 2026 deal coverage.

The biggest percentage markdown is not automatically the best buy. A compact clock with a large discount cannot replace a wall dashboard, and a large display is wasted if all you need is a timer. Choose for the job and room first, then compare the live price.

- Best household dashboard: Echo Show 15, for calendars, lists, widgets, routines, and a prominent smart-home control screen. TechRadar described the $249.99 June price as its biggest discount yet.
- Best bedside choice: Echo Show 5 if you want a screen for alarms and reminders; Echo Spot if a smaller clock-style speaker better suits the room.
- Best audio-focused option: Echo Studio, but only if music playback is a priority. A discount alone is not a reason to buy it for basic Alexa commands.
Echo Dot Max vs. Echo Dot: pay more for newer?
At the June prices, the Dot Max was $30 more than the fifth-generation Dot. The Max is the newer, more feature-oriented choice and was promoted as Alexa+-enabled. The standard Dot is the sensible low-cost option for adding voice control in several rooms or handling everyday commands.
Do not pay extra simply because a model is newer. First check which Alexa+ features are available for your account and region, whether any conditions or charges apply, and whether the Max’s audio and hardware advantages matter for your room. Compatibility with Alexa+ does not by itself establish that every feature is available to every buyer.

Which Echo Show fits your room?
Echo Show 5: compact and personal
The Show 5 is suited to a bedside table or a small kitchen counter, where a modest display can handle alarms, timers, weather, reminders, basic video calls, and simple smart-home controls. Its small screen is a limitation for shared calendars or watching video from across a room. At the reported June price of $59.99, compare it against the live listing and the Spot if you mainly want a bedside clock.

Echo Show 8: the practical middle ground
The Show 8 is the strongest all-around pick for many kitchens and living spaces: a screen better suited than the Show 5 to recipes, calls, and shared viewing, without committing to a wall-sized device. Its reported $139.99 price was from a March promotion, not the June Prime Day offer, so treat it as a benchmark rather than a current deal.

Echo Show 15: a family command center
The 15.6-inch 1080p Show 15 is designed for a more visible household display. Its widgets and Fire TV functionality in the newer generation can complement calendars, shopping lists, reminders, and smart-home controls. It makes most sense when the household will use that shared surface regularly. The June price was $249.99, down from $299.99, and TechRadar called it the model’s biggest discount yet.
Account for the practical installation: it needs suitable wall or counter space, power, and a plan for cable routing. Mounting hardware or installation may add cost. Skip it if you only want voice commands or do not want to mount a large screen.

Echo Show 21: largest screen, largest commitment
The Show 21 suits a large kitchen or family room where a prominent dashboard is useful. At the reported March price of $349.99 from $399.99, it cost substantially more than the Show 15, and its physical footprint makes it overkill for alarms, timers, or a compact room. The earlier promotion should not be confused with a June Prime Day price.
Before you order: check the details that change the value
- Confirm the exact generation. Echo product names can cover multiple generations. Check the listing’s model details rather than relying on a short headline, particularly if the deal is for an older version.
- Verify the price and eligibility at checkout. June coverage said Prime membership was required for the reported Prime Day offers. Promotions can vary by membership, color, stock, seller, or bundle, and a displayed discount may disappear before checkout. A Prime trial may renew automatically; review its terms before signing up just for one device.
- Check what Alexa+ means for you. Confirm device support, account and regional eligibility, and any terms for the features you intend to use. Do not assume that advertised compatibility means every feature is included or available in your location.
- Match smart-home features to the exact model. Echo devices do not all have the same built-in radios or hub functions, and no single Echo should be assumed to control every Zigbee, Matter, Thread, or Wi-Fi product directly. Verify the specific device’s compatibility and connection method before buying it as a hub.
- Consider microphones and cameras. Echo devices use microphones for Alexa voice interaction; display models may also include cameras. Check the physical microphone-mute and camera controls on the exact model, and decide whether a camera-equipped device belongs in the room you have in mind. Review Amazon’s current account and voice-history settings if those matter to you.
- Include installation and accessories. A Show 15 or 21 may need a mount, suitable wall, and tidy cable route. Check whether the listing includes the stand or mounting parts you need; a bundle price is not necessarily the price of the device alone.
- Compare price history cautiously. “Record low” and “biggest discount” here refer to claims in the cited June 2026 coverage. They do not prove an all-time low across every generation, color, or retailer. A crossed-out reference price is not the same as a documented lowest recent price.
The short recommendation
If the June prices return, the Echo Dot Max is the standout compact-speaker deal for buyers who value newer capabilities; the fifth-generation Dot remains the straightforward budget pick. Choose the Show 8 for a versatile screen, or the Show 15 if your household will actually use a wall-mounted dashboard. The cited offers were U.S. prices from 2026 sale coverage, and none is verified as live today.
