There are not ten well-documented padlocks that combine a built-in fingerprint reader with a genuine mobile app. As of August 18, 2026, two clearly verified consumer models meet both requirements: Tapplock one+ and Tapplock lite. This guide ranks those two, then identifies app-enabled alternatives that use NFC or Bluetooth instead of fingerprints. That distinction matters: a Bluetooth app normally unlocks the padlock only when your phone is nearby, not from anywhere over the internet.
What counts as a fingerprint padlock with an app?
For this guide, a product must be a physical padlock, include a built-in fingerprint sensor, and have an official iOS or Android application that does something useful—such as Bluetooth unlocking, fingerprint or user management, shared access, schedules, history, or battery reporting. Fingerprint-only locks, app-controlled locks without a fingerprint sensor, door locks, luggage locks, and unidentified marketplace listings do not qualify.
The strict category is unusually small. Rather than padding a “top 10” list with unrelated products, the table below separates the two verified matches from clearly labelled non-fingerprint alternatives.

The two verified fingerprint-plus-app padlocks
1. Tapplock one+ — best overall and best full-size option
Tapplock one+ is the strongest match for a gate, shed, toolbox or shared household storage. Tapplock lists three access methods: fingerprint, Bluetooth through its app, and Morse-code input using long and short presses on the power button.
- Users: Tapplock says the lock stores up to 500 fingerprints and supports Bluetooth access sharing with permanent or time-limited permissions.
- Administration: The app is described as providing user management, battery status and access history, including time and location information. These are manufacturer claims; the product page does not establish exactly how location is determined.
- Physical and environmental claims: Tapplock specifies a reinforced 7-mm stainless-steel shackle, anti-shim and anti-pry features, IP67 protection, and an operating range of –20°C to 65°C (–4°F to 149°F).
- Battery: Tapplock claims up to one year or approximately 3,500 unlocks, a low-power warning below 10%, and an approximately eight-second connection to a portable battery pack to awaken the lock.
Those figures are first-party specifications, not independent test results. The cited page does not document a conventional key cylinder, so plan around the Morse-code and emergency-power procedures rather than assuming a mechanical override.
Best fit: households, small teams and shared storage where several people need controlled access. Not a substitute for a tested high-security lock: a strong app cannot prevent cutting, drilling or prying if the physical installation is vulnerable.
2. Tapplock lite — best lightweight option
Tapplock lite combines fingerprint access, Bluetooth app access and Morse-code backup in a lighter, lifestyle-oriented design. Tapplock lists capacity for up to 100 fingerprints.

It suits gym lockers, bags, cases, indoor cabinets and lower-risk personal equipment. The cited lite page does not publish the one+’s IP67 rating, temperature range, shackle dimensions or battery-life claim, so do not assume those specifications carry over. Its lighter construction is also a reason to avoid using it as the sole barrier for valuable outdoor equipment.
App-enabled alternatives that do not use fingerprints
These products are relevant when shared access, NFC convenience or commercial records matter more than biometric unlocking. They should not be counted as fingerprint padlocks.
eGeeTouch weatherproof range
eGeeTouch’s 5th-generation weatherproof padlocks use NFC tags or devices and Bluetooth-paired Apple or Android phones. The company describes access assignment, revocation, timed permissions and audit trails. Some configurations support cloud administration and remote authorization, but that is a management function—not proof that every padlock can be opened remotely without a nearby phone or documented gateway.

eGeeTouch Intelligent Lock
The Intelligent Lock is aimed at commercial users needing multiple administrators, scheduled access, audit trails and tamper notifications. eGeeTouch lists NFC and Bluetooth access, iOS and Android support, IP66 protection, a hardened-steel shackle, USB-C and a claimed 1,124-pound ASTM F3 shackle-strength result. These are manufacturer-provided specifications, not an independent security test reported here.
eGeeTouch Anti-Cut Smart Padlock
The Anti-Cut Smart Padlock belongs in the same non-fingerprint category. Its anti-cut name does not establish resistance to every attack; evaluate the actual shackle, body, mounting point and available independent certification.
Bluetooth app control is usually local, not remote
Tapplock describes Bluetooth unlocking and app-based sharing, but its consumer padlock pages do not establish Wi-Fi or cellular unlocking. In practical terms, the phone generally needs to be within Bluetooth range when opening the lock. An owner may be able to prepare permissions or review synchronised records elsewhere, but do not promise that a person in another city can unlock the physical padlock.
eGeeTouch documents cloud-based administration for some commercial configurations. Treat remote authorisation, remote management and remote physical unlocking as three different capabilities and verify which one the exact model and plan provide.

Fingerprint enrollment, sharing and revocation
Tapplock states that fingerprints and users can be managed in its app, with limits of 500 fingerprints for one+ and 100 for lite. The cited material does not establish whether biometric templates are stored on the lock or in the cloud, whether enrollment always requires the owner’s phone, or how quickly a revocation reaches an offline lock. Confirm those points in the current manual, privacy policy and app documentation before deploying the lock for employees or tenants.
Ask these operational questions before purchase:
- Can an individual fingerprint be deleted without resetting every user?
- Do invitees need their own account?
- Must the owner stand beside the lock to authorise a new person?
- Do time windows work when the lock has no internet connection?
- Does revocation apply immediately or at the next Bluetooth synchronisation?
What to do when the reader, phone or battery fails
Biometrics can fail when fingers are wet, dirty, cold, gloved, cut or worn by manual work. Sensor contamination, a poorly enrolled angle, disabled Bluetooth permissions, an outdated app or a dead phone can create the same result. Enrol the permitted finger at more than one angle, keep the sensor clean and carry the documented backup method.
Both Tapplock models advertise Morse-code unlocking. The one+ additionally claims an approximately eight-second emergency charge from a portable battery pack. That is not the same as a permanent power supply or a mechanical key; verify the connector, charging conditions, whether the lock can open while powered, and whether the battery is replaceable in the current manual: Tapplock one+ manual.

Outdoor suitability and physical security
An IP rating addresses water and dust ingress under specified test conditions; it does not guarantee performance in salt air, mud, ice, condensation or direct sun. Keep a charging port sheltered, prevent grit from packing the shackle and consider a second lock or alarm for exposed equipment.
Fingerprint convenience is separate from attack resistance. Evaluate shackle diameter and exposed length, body material, locking mechanism, double-locking, the hasp and the tools available to an attacker. Tapplock’s anti-shim, anti-pry, IP67 and temperature statements are manufacturer claims. Its homepage also advertises “99.999%” accuracy and 0.8-second unlocking; without a published test protocol, treat those as marketing claims rather than independent laboratory results: Tapplock product range.
When a fingerprint padlock is the wrong choice
- High-value motorcycles, trailers, machinery or construction equipment need independently tested physical security, not just an app.
- Insurance, regulatory or critical-infrastructure applications may require recognised certifications that these consumer pages do not establish.
- Sites where phones, accounts or batteries are unacceptable are better served by a hardened keyed, combination or commercial electronic system.
- Workers who are routinely gloved, wet or handling abrasive materials may experience too many failed fingerprint reads.
- Installations needing guaranteed access during a vendor outage should avoid dependence on a single app ecosystem.
How to choose
- Confirm the category: require both a built-in fingerprint sensor and an official app.
- Map the access path: decide whether nearby Bluetooth is enough or whether a documented cloud/gateway system is required.
- Plan failure recovery: identify the Morse code, emergency power, NFC or key procedure and test it before fitting the lock.
- Match construction to risk: compare shackle, body, hasp and weather exposure rather than choosing on fingerprint speed.
- Check administration: verify user limits, deletion, schedules, logs, account requirements and revocation timing.
- Recheck volatile details: confirm live price, stock, warranty, app compatibility, update date and any subscription or commercial-management fee at purchase.
Verdict
Choose Tapplock one+ if you specifically want a full-size fingerprint padlock with Bluetooth sharing, user capacity and a published outdoor specification set. Choose Tapplock lite for lighter-duty portable use, while accepting that its cited page publishes fewer durability details. Choose eGeeTouch when NFC, timed permissions, audit trails and commercial administration matter more than fingerprints. Do not buy a listing merely because it says “biometric” or “smart”: verify the sensor, official app, connection type and recovery method first.
