Overview

Live Home 3D is a home-design app for drawing floor plans and developing them into 3D views of rooms, houses, exteriors and terrain. Its core workflow joins measured planning with visual review: create walls or trace a plan image, add dimensions, lay out multiple stories, then move into 3D to walk through the home and adjust furniture and finishes.

For homeowners, that provides a way to explore a proposed layout and its appearance before construction or renovation. Contractors and professional designers can use the same planning and visualization capabilities to develop and communicate a design. The listed functions center on design and rendering, rather than project scheduling, estimating or construction administration. Live Home 3D uses a freemium model, with a free plan and paid subscriptions or lifetime options.

Key features

Floor plans and 3D walkthroughs

Wall tools support drawing a plan from scratch, while image tracing can help recreate an existing layout. Users can mark dimensions and create multiple stories, then switch from the 2D plan to a 3D view. Walkthroughs provide a way to move through the proposed home, and furniture and finishes can be rearranged as the design develops.

Models, materials and imports

The Mac product page lists an in-app library of 2,400 3D models and 2,100 materials. The store feature chart also lists the ability to import objects from Trimble 3D Warehouse and browse and import Sketchfab models. Sketchfab use requires a free account.

Rendering and project output

The Mac app supports unlimited on-device offline ray-tracing renders with AMD Radeon ProRender or Cycles. AI cloud rendering instead uses purchased credits. Listed export options include PDF floor plans, images, panoramas, walkthrough videos and several 3D model formats; object imports on the Mac page include FBX, 3DS, COLLADA and OBJ. Format availability varies by platform, and the free version's exports contain watermarks.

Feature listings also include real-time scenes, 360° tours, VR/AR support, video export and mobile viewing. These complement the basic plan-to-visualization workflow, though the listed details do not specify compatibility or output limits for each platform.

Pricing

The pricing note lists a free plan and paid plans from $5.99/mo. The iPhone/iPad/Vision app is listed at 0.00 USD per free, with Standard and Pro subscriptions and lifetime licenses available as in-app purchases. Listed in-app prices include:

Standard Features: 5.99 USD per month or 19.99 USD per year.
Pro Features: 14.99 USD per month or 39.99 USD per year.
Standard Features Lifetime License: 59.99 USD per once.
Pro Features Lifetime License: 129.99 USD per once.

Separate Mac listings show Live Home 3D Standard (Mac) at 59.99 USD per once and Live Home 3D Pro (Mac) at 129.99 USD per once. Both are lifetime licenses and require macOS 13 or higher. The listed free version is limited to two stories. A free trial is available. The online store says purchases covered by its refund policy have a 30 day money back guarantee.

Platforms

Live Home 3D is listed for Android, iOS, macOS and Windows, with a hybrid primary-platform designation and mobile viewing. Feature and export formats vary by platform, so users should check the relevant platform listing for the specific capabilities they need. The privacy statement says usage statistics are collected only with permission and that no usage statistics are collected on Windows or Android.

Who it's for

The maker describes Live Home 3D as a home-design app for amateurs and professional designers. Homeowners planning a build or renovation can use its plans and 3D views to consider room layouts, multiple stories, furnishings and finishes. Contractors and designers can use those same tools to develop a visual proposal, while keeping in mind that the listed feature set focuses on design rather than job management.

Pros and cons

Pros: A connected 2D-to-3D workflow supports plan creation, walkthroughs and changes to furniture and finishes.
Pros: The Mac listing specifies a substantial model and material library, several import and export formats, and offline ray-tracing options.
Pros: A free plan, free trial and multiple paid license types provide different ways to access the app.
Cons: Free exports contain watermarks, and the free version is limited to two stories.
Cons: Some capabilities and formats vary by platform; AI cloud rendering uses purchased credits.

Alternatives

For other design tools, consider Vectorworks Architect, AutoCAD, Allplan, Archicad, Chaos Envision, Chief Architect, Envisioneer or Rayon.

Verdict

Live Home 3D is centered on converting floor plans into a navigable visual design. Its mix of wall planning, dimensions, multistory layouts, furniture and finish adjustments, and rendering gives homeowners and design professionals a useful set of tools for exploring a home design. The main qualifications are the free tier's story and watermark limits, platform-dependent features and exports, and the credit-based model for AI cloud rendering. It is best suited to visual planning, rather than managing construction work.
