The ANTHBOT N8 stood out at CES 2026 for a practical twist on robotic mowing: it is designed not only to cut grass, but also to collect clippings and debris and automatically dump them. That makes it a more ambitious proposition than a mower that simply mulches as it goes. The recognition was an Android Headlines CES 2026 award for the N8 series—not evidence of a formal CES Innovation Award or long-term independent testing.
For homeowners, the key question is whether the collection system and wire-free navigation suit their property. The N8 is worth considering for a medium-to-large lawn where clipping pickup matters, but price, yard conditions, service terms and real-world reliability deserve careful checking before purchase.
What is the ANTHBOT N8?
The N8 is a premium robotic lawn mower in ANTHBOT’s N/Neat range, introduced alongside the N8 LiDAR at CES 2026, held January 6–9. ANTHBOT recommends it for lawns of about 1,500 square meters—roughly 16,146 square feet, or 0.40 acre. That is a manufacturer’s target, not a guarantee that every lawn of that size will be handled equally well.

The company describes the N8 as a 4-in-1 system: it can mow, mulch, collect clippings and sweep debris. Its defining feature is a rear collection system with an advertised 23-liter auto-dumping bin. In the CES demonstration, the mower collected material and then transported and dumped it. This could help reduce visible grass clumps compared with a mower that leaves all clippings behind, but it does not establish that cleanup will be eliminated in every yard or condition.

ANTHBOT also lists a 9.2-Ah battery, 4,000 RPM blades, app control, schedules, multi-zone navigation, U-path mowing logic and 4G connectivity for the standard N8. These are published specifications and features, not independently verified performance results. The company’s N8 product page has the current feature description.
N8 or N8 LiDAR?

The yard-fit distinction is a reasoned inference from the positioning systems, not a head-to-head performance finding. RTK depends on satellite signals and installation conditions; trees, buildings, fences, narrow side passages, poor reference-station placement and signal reflections can complicate positioning. LiDAR may be attractive in an enclosed or obstructed yard, but the available product information does not establish that it is more accurate or reliable in every such property. Why collecting clippings changes the proposition
Many robotic mowers cut frequently and leave fine clippings on the lawn to mulch. The N8’s collection feature targets homeowners who would rather remove clippings and some debris—perhaps because they dislike clumps, track-in, or grass collecting around frequently used areas. Its auto-dumping bin is meant to reduce the need to empty a small onboard container by hand during a mowing session.

The collected material still has to go somewhere, and the homeowner may need to manage the dumping location and compost or yard-waste removal. A 23-liter capacity also means the system has a finite limit. Wet grass, overgrown turf, heavy leaf cover, twigs, clogging, uneven terrain and a full bin can all affect collection. The published information does not independently verify collection efficiency in these conditions, nor does it establish that every mowing mode collects material or that users can switch modes remotely. Check the manual or ask the seller about those details before buying.

Wire-free does not mean setup-free
The standard N8 is marketed with RTK and binocular vision rather than a conventional perimeter wire. That can avoid burying or pegging a boundary loop, but the mower still needs a charging station, an appropriate positioning setup, lawn mapping and no-go-zone configuration. RTK installations may require a reference or base station; the right placement and a clear view of the sky can matter. Vision and mapping also do not remove the need to define edges, beds, slopes, paths and hazards carefully.
Before relying on unattended mowing, supervise initial mapping and early runs. Confirm that the mower stays within boundaries, handles transitions and reaches each zone. Keep children and pets away during setup and testing, remove hoses, toys, tools, cables and small objects, and follow the manual’s safety guidance. ANTHBOT says its dual-camera system is trained to identify more than 1,000 kinds of obstacles, but that is a manufacturer claim—not a guarantee that the mower will detect every object, pet or hazard. Do not rely on vision alone for safety.
Does your lawn fit?
- Open lawn near the 1,500-square-meter recommendation: The standard N8 may be a plausible candidate if there is a suitable RTK setup location and the layout is not exceptionally fragmented.
- Dense tree cover or tall surrounding structures: Consider whether the N8 LiDAR’s positioning approach is a better match, but treat that as a possibility to evaluate—not a proven advantage. Ask about mapping behavior and test conditions for a yard like yours.
- Several separate lawn areas: The N8 advertises multi-zone navigation, but confirm how it moves between zones, what access routes it needs and how those areas are mapped.
- Narrow passages, complex edges or steep slopes: The available product information does not provide a verified minimum passage width or enough evidence to promise performance on a particular slope. Measure and ask the seller before committing.
- Wet grass, tall growth or autumn leaves: Collection may be less predictable, and the product claims do not establish performance under persistent wet conditions or deep leaf cover. A routine-maintenance robot should not be assumed to recover an overgrown lawn quickly.
- Small, simple lawn: The price and capacity may be excessive if you do not need automated collection. A smaller model or conventional mower may be better value.
Actual coverage depends on lawn shape, zones, slope, grass growth, mowing frequency, weather, charging and travel time, collection use and signal quality. ANTHBOT’s 1,500-square-meter recommendation should not be read as a promise of a full lawn’s coverage under every combination of those factors.

ANTHBOT advertises app-based control, one-tap mowing, scheduling, multi-zone navigation and 4G for the N8. The support center includes sections for RTK, connectivity, app operation, installation, error codes and manuals. But the available information does not settle whether cellular service requires a subscription, what functions continue without 4G or cloud access, whether remote control works outside the home network, or how long software support is promised. Confirm these points, as well as warranty, returns and replacement-part availability, before purchase. The ANTHBOT support center is a starting point for manuals and troubleshooting resources.

For an expensive, newer product, check specifically whether N8-compatible blades, collection bags, batteries and charging components are available in your region. The company’s product collection lists models and some accessories, but the available information does not establish a complete N8 parts inventory or long-term service history.
Price and availability: check before ordering
At the time reflected in the research dated August 16, 2026, ANTHBOT’s U.S. N8 product page listed $1,499, excluding tax, with shipping calculated separately. That same page described preorder units as scheduled to ship from June on a first-paid, first-shipped basis. The company’s collection page simultaneously showed the N8 as sold out, while another official homepage view showed $1,699. Its collection page listed the N8 LiDAR at $1,399. These are conflicting, time-sensitive signals, not a dependable current quote. Check the N8 product page and official collection for current price and stock before making a decision.
Who should consider it—and who should wait?
The N8 is most compelling for someone with a medium-to-large residential lawn who specifically wants a robot to collect clippings and some debris, values avoiding perimeter-wire installation, and is comfortable with mapping, maintenance and a newer product. A relatively open property may point toward the standard RTK model; an obstructed yard may make the LiDAR model worth investigating. Neither choice can be made categorically without considering the actual property.

If clipping collection is not important, lower-cost ANTHBOT options such as the M9 or M5 may be more proportionate to a smaller or simpler lawn; their advertised capabilities and coverage should be checked separately rather than assumed to match the N8. The official lineup provides the company’s model list.
The N8’s CES recognition reflects an appealing product concept: combining wire-free robotic mowing with automated collection. It does not prove durability, navigation accuracy in your yard, reliable bag emptying, or better value than alternatives. Treat the N8 as a candidate to compare—not a CES-certified purchase recommendation—and weigh the collection benefit against setup, upkeep, price and the conditions on your property.
