These are historical deals, not current Prime Day offers. Aqara’s promotion appeared in a sponsored roundup published July 8, 2025, with prices starting at $18.39. That sale has ended. The prices below are useful for understanding what was discounted, but they should not be treated as available now; product prices, stock and sellers can change.
The main buying question was never just the discount: it was whether each device needed an Aqara hub, a compatible Thread setup, or neither. That distinction matters especially for Google Home users, because “Matter-compatible” does not mean every Aqara device pairs directly with Google Home or exposes all its features there.
The July 2025 deal list—and what to know about it
The original article was labeled “Sponsored Post.” Its deal prices and product descriptions are historical information, not independent test results. Its stated reference prices are reproduced below for context; Aqara’s M3 comparison price was inconsistent in the source, which gave both $170 and $130 in different places.

Prices observed on Aqara’s US store around August 18, 2026 included $23.99 for the T2 E26, $159.99 for the M3, and $82.99 for the FP2. Aqara’s catalog also showed a single water leak sensor at $18.99. These are dated catalog signals, not guaranteed checkout prices or stock. Check the live listing, seller, exact variant and any coupon before buying. Aqara’s catalog and individual product pages may change.
What Matter does—and what it does not
Matter is a common smart-home standard, but the route a device takes into an ecosystem still matters:
- Direct Matter over Thread: A device such as the T2 bulb can join a compatible Matter ecosystem over Thread. The home needs the relevant Matter controller and Thread border-router capability; a Matter label alone does not supply that infrastructure.
- Matter bridge: A hub can expose devices that use another protocol, such as Aqara Zigbee products, to Matter platforms. This is different from pairing those devices directly to Google Home.
- Matter controller: A controller commissions and manages Matter devices. The M3 can act as one for compatible third-party Matter devices in Aqara Home, as well as bridge supported Aqara devices outward.
Device type and platform determine which functions appear. A sensor might be visible in Google Home but lack Aqara-specific settings, zones, scenes or automation behavior. Aqara’s Matter overview explains its approach; check the current support details for the exact device and platform rather than assuming full feature parity.

The bulb: the simplest deal, if your setup is ready
The T2 E26 was the entry-level offer at $18.39 during the 2025 event. Aqara lists the bulb as supporting Thread, Zigbee and Bluetooth, with RGB color and tunable white. Its published specifications include up to 1,100 lumens at 6,500K, a white-light range of 2,700K–6,500K, a broader stated color-temperature range of 2,000K–9,000K in RGB mode, CRI above 90, 10.5 W consumption and a rated lifetime of 25,000 hours. Check the socket and variant before ordering. The $18.39 offer applied to the E26 RGBCCT bulb, not every T2 model. Aqara also sells a GU10 version, and the GU10’s published brightness is lower than the E26’s. A smart bulb also needs continuous power: if someone switches off the fixture’s wall switch, app and automation control will stop until the bulb is powered again. This can make smart bulbs awkward in rooms where occupants routinely use the wall switch.
The FP2: presence sensing rather than ordinary motion
The FP2 is for automations that need to know someone remains in a room even when they are sitting still. The original sponsored article described it as a Wi-Fi millimeter-wave radar sensor that can map up to 30 zones and track up to five people, with features including lighting automations, fall detection and sleep monitoring. Those are product capabilities attributed to Aqara and the sponsored coverage, not independently verified performance results.
The original deal listing said the FP2 did not require an Aqara hub and supported Google Home, Alexa and Apple Home. Wi-Fi and compatible platform setup are still required, and compatibility should not be read as a promise that every zone or advanced feature will be available in Google Home. Compared with a basic motion sensor, radar presence sensing can take more careful placement and calibration. Furniture, room shape, reflective surfaces, pets and movement patterns can affect results. Sleep monitoring and fall detection should not be treated as medical services or emergency monitoring.

At the historical $54.99 price, it made most sense for a room where presence detection justified the extra cost and setup. It is likely overkill for a hallway or closet that only needs a simple motion trigger. Its Wi-Fi, mains-powered approach may also be a poor fit for someone who specifically wants a small, battery-powered sensor.
Leak sensors and valve controller: useful protection with conditions
The three-pack of Aqara leak sensors was $37 in the promotion. A sensor can alert when water reaches its contacts, making placements under sinks, by a washing machine, near a water heater or in another leak-prone spot useful. But it only detects water where it is placed. The sensors use Zigbee, so Aqara’s hub is part of the typical Aqara setup and is needed to bridge supported functions to Matter platforms.

The T1 valve controller was $56 in the deal. According to the original coverage, it is a retrofit device powered by four AA batteries, designed to operate a compatible existing shutoff valve. Pairing it with leak sensors can trigger an automatic close, but only after the valve fit, hub, radio connection, battery condition and automation are all right. Confirm that the controller fits the home’s actual valve and that the valve is accessible and can still be operated manually. Do not assume compatibility from the product name alone.
After installation, test the sensor-to-automation-to-valve sequence, verify notifications, and check batteries regularly. A hub, radio or power problem, depleted batteries, an incompatible or stiff valve, or delayed notification can undermine the intended protection. Closing a valve is not the same as detecting every leak, and this setup is not a substitute for plumbing inspection, insurance requirements or a professionally installed whole-home system. Buyers should also understand whether their configuration sends an alert, closes the valve, or does both.

The M3 hub: the strategic purchase, not a requirement for every bulb
The M3 was $119.99 during the 2025 promotion. Aqara’s US store listing showed $159.99 around August 18, 2026, subject to change. The M3 combines a Zigbee hub, Thread border-router capability, Matter-controller functionality and a Matter bridge for supported Aqara Zigbee devices. Aqara also says it can bring compatible third-party Matter devices into Aqara Home.
Other listed features include dual-band 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, USB-C power, PoE support, a 360-degree IR blaster for compatible traditional remote-controlled equipment, and 8 GB encrypted local storage. Aqara claims support for up to 127 Thread/Zigbee devices, subject to device support and repeater limitations. The company says the hub has no microphone or camera components. The M3 is easiest to justify if you already use Aqara Zigbee devices, want to add the leak sensors or valve controller, or value Aqara automations, local capabilities, PoE or IR control. It is a costly way to add a single bulb if that bulb can pair directly with the Thread/Matter equipment you already own. “Works with Google Home” does not mean Google Home replaces the Aqara hub for Zigbee devices.
Which setup fits your home?
- One color bulb: Consider the T2 E26 if the socket fits and you have compatible Thread/Matter equipment, or already own an Aqara hub for Zigbee use. No reason to buy an M3 solely for that bulb without considering other planned devices.
- Google Home plus Aqara Zigbee sensors: Plan on an Aqara hub such as the M3, or another compatible Aqara hub, for the Zigbee devices. Check the exact device’s Matter bridge support and which controls Google Home exposes.
- Presence-based lighting: Choose the FP2 when occupancy while stationary, room zones or multi-person detection are important enough to justify Wi-Fi setup and calibration.
- Leak alerts without automatic shutoff: Sensors alone can provide detection in their placed locations, with a hub-based setup. Place them thoughtfully and test alerts.
- Automatic shutoff: Consider the sensors and T1 together only after confirming the valve’s mechanical compatibility and planning regular tests, battery checks and a manual fallback.
- Mixed Aqara and Matter home: The M3 is the ecosystem-oriented option if bridging, Thread and Aqara Home integrations matter. Platform support still varies by device and feature.
Before buying now
The July 2025 Prime Day window is over. Do not rely on its $18.39 bulb price, $54.99 FP2 price or other sale prices as current offers. Check the current retailer listing for price, stock, seller and variant, especially for T2 socket type and color/white-light version. Aqara’s direct-store prices are only a snapshot and may not match retailer checkout totals.
