Haier launched its F9 front-load washing-machine series in India on July 26, 2025. The identified launch model, HW120-DM14F9BKU1, has a 12 kg capacity and was announced at ₹59,990. Its headline feature is an AI Colour Touch Panel, alongside one-touch wash selection, a 525 mm drum and a 1400-rpm maximum spin speed. That price is the launch price, not a verified current offer; Haier has since introduced the newer F11 series in India.
Haier F9 launch: model, price and availability
The F9 is a front-loading washing-machine series. Haier’s launch announcement names the 12 kg model as HW120-DM14F9BKU1 and lists its price at ₹59,990 at launch. The company said it would be available through leading retail outlets and online platforms across India, and said the machine was designed and manufactured at its Greater Noida facility. These are launch details; the announcement does not establish the model’s current stock or selling price.
Haier’s announcement describes the series, but the clearest model-specific specification is for the 12 kg machine. Do not assume every product carrying the F9 name has identical capacity or features without checking its exact model number.

What the AI Colour Touch Panel does
The panel is a colour touchscreen for choosing wash programs and settings and viewing wash information. Haier promotes it as a simpler alternative to navigating a conventional collection of controls, and calls it India’s first or only AI colour-panel washer. Those “first” and “only” descriptions are Haier’s claims, not independently established market facts.
A touchscreen is an interface feature; its presence alone does not show that the whole machine makes autonomous decisions. The launch material does not establish whether the display works reliably with wet hands or gloves, how readable it is in bright light, whether essential functions remain available if it fails, or what a replacement would cost. Buyers who prefer simple physical controls should check these points before paying a premium for the interface.
AI One Touch: the company’s promise and its limits
Haier says AI One Touch assesses load size, fabric type and dirt level, then selects or adjusts a wash cycle after a single touch. In everyday use, that could reduce the need to choose among many programs—especially for someone new to front-load machines. Haier’s explanation of One Touch describes this as load analysis before washing begins.

The available launch information does not explain the sensing hardware or algorithm, show how accurately it identifies fabric and soil, or provide independent comparisons with other automatic wash programs. “AI” should therefore be read as Haier’s product terminology, not proof of a learning system or better cleaning results. One Touch also does not remove the need to separate colours, follow care labels, avoid overloading or select a specialist cycle for delicate items.
Drum, motor and vibration control
Haier specifies a 525 mm pillow-shaped Super Drum. The company says its size supports fabric movement and water penetration, while the shape is intended to be gentler on clothes. A larger drum may give garments room to tumble, and a 12 kg machine can suit households with large laundry loads or bulky items. But the drum measurement alone does not prove better cleaning or fabric care. Nor does a 12 kg rating mean every load—particularly bulky bedding—should be packed to that weight; items need room to move.
The F9 is listed with a Direct Motion Motor, which Haier describes as beltless and promotes for quieter, more durable and energy-efficient operation. The company also names AI Direct Motion Pro for stronger performance with larger loads. Haier’s AI Dynamic Balance System (AI-DBS) is intended to detect and correct an uneven load during washing, helping limit vibration during high-speed spins.

These are manufacturer descriptions, not independent measurements. The launch material provides no decibel rating, power-use result, service-life evidence or comparative test against other brands. Balance correction also cannot compensate for every installation or loading problem: uneven floors, incorrect installation, a badly distributed load or overfilling can still cause vibration. Follow the model’s installation instructions and have the machine properly levelled.
Hygiene features and 1400-rpm spin
Haier lists PuriStream Technology, which it describes as filtering and purifying water during washing; Dual Spray, intended to help clean the drum; and Anti-Bacterial Treatment (ABT), intended to inhibit mould and bacterial growth inside it. These descriptions should not be taken to mean the washer sterilises itself or eliminates all microbial contamination. The launch materials also use differing descriptions for drum welding, so the construction detail should be confirmed against the exact model’s product documentation.
The maximum spin speed is 1400 rpm. A faster spin can extract more water and may shorten drying time, but maximum speed is not suitable for every garment: it can increase creasing or stress delicate fabrics. Choose a lower spin or a specialist program when the garment label calls for it. Haier’s wool-care guidance recommends wool, delicate or handwash programs for woollens; check the F9 manual for the exact cycles available on this model.

App control and ownership details to check
Haier says the washer can be managed or controlled remotely using the Hai Smart App. The launch information does not spell out supported phone versions, setup requirements, which functions are available remotely, whether a physical confirmation is required before starting a cycle, or what still works when the home network is unavailable. Treat app connectivity as an extra, not a reason to overlook basic operation, service access or the machine’s wash performance. Check Haier’s current app and model documentation if remote use matters to you.
Haier announced a five-year comprehensive warranty and a separate 20-year motor warranty. The latter should not be read as 20 years of full-machine cover or as a promise that labour and every motor-related part are free throughout that period. The launch announcement does not provide enough detail to resolve exclusions, registration requirements or labour terms. Read the written warranty for the exact model, including what is covered and whether the display, control electronics, pump, drum, bearings and seals are excluded from the long motor term.

The F9 is most relevant to buyers who genuinely need a large-capacity front-loader, wash bulky items regularly and value a touchscreen or one-touch program selection. The 1400-rpm spin and app-control positioning may also appeal, provided the buyer sees them as useful conveniences rather than proven performance advantages.

It may be excessive for a small household or a buyer who wants a straightforward, lower-cost washer. Before deciding, compare the current price—not just the ₹59,990 launch figure—and confirm the machine’s dimensions, installation clearances, water and energy use, program list, service availability in your area, and warranty terms. The available launch information does not settle these practical ownership questions or provide independent noise, efficiency or wash-performance results.
F9 is not Haier’s newest Indian launch
Haier announced an F11 washing-machine series in India in April 2026, after the F9 launch. Haier positions F11 around Ultra Fresh Air technology and a full AI colour-touch panel. That makes F9 an earlier series, but the launch information cited here is not enough to conclude that F11 is better or to compare their value.
