Verdict: The Baseus Security X1 Pro is a distinctive option for homeowners who want two independently controlled camera views, solar-assisted battery power and local recording without a mandatory monthly storage subscription. It could cover two nearby approaches—such as a front door and driveway—from one mounting point. But its advertised 300-degree coverage is dynamic, not a simultaneous view of every angle; solar performance depends on the installation; and its AI should not be mistaken for advanced recognition or a monitored security service.

For a construction-minded buyer, the practical question is not only what the camera can do, but whether the wall, eave or post offers the right sightlines, sunlight and Wi-Fi signal. The X1 Pro is most compelling where those conditions align.

What the Baseus Security X1 Pro is

The X1 Pro is a wire-free outdoor camera system in one housing, with two independently controlled 3K camera modules, a 7,800mAh battery and an integrated 3W solar panel. It records to a microSD card, controlled through the Baseus Security app. Baseus lists Alexa and Google Home compatibility, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, IP65 weather resistance and microSD support up to 512GB. See Baseus’s product specifications.

“X1 Pro,” “Outdoor Dual Camera” and “Dual-Tracking Camera” refer to this model and its positioning. It is distinct from Baseus’s S1 Pro, S2, N1 and A1 products.

Two views are useful—but 300 degrees is not 360-degree recording

The X1 Pro’s key difference from a conventional pan-and-tilt camera is that it has two camera modules rather than one lens that must turn between directions. Baseus describes independent control and tracking for the lenses, with up to 300 degrees of dynamic horizontal coverage. In a suitable layout, one view might stay on a front door while the other follows activity toward a driveway; another installation might cover a gate and garden.

That can reduce the need to mount two separate cameras, but it does not guarantee that one unit replaces them. Dynamic coverage is not the same as recording every angle simultaneously at equal detail. Each lens has a finite view, and walls, rooflines, trees and mounting height create blind areas. A tracking lens may also move away from a fixed view you expected it to preserve. Before buying, decide which areas must remain continuously visible and whether the two views can be aimed and configured independently for that priority.

Tracking is useful for following movement across an approach. A fixed camera is often better when you need a dependable evidentiary view of a doorway, gate or vehicle entrance. If two critical approaches need uninterrupted recording, separate fixed cameras—or a wired multi-camera system—may be the safer layout.

Image quality, night vision and identification

Baseus lists two 3K cameras with F2.0 lenses, up to 8× digital zoom, color and black-and-white night vision, a 100-lumen spotlight, 12 IR LEDs, a listed 210-degree static horizontal field of view, 60-degree vertical field of view and 125-degree diagonal field of view. An independent Tom’s Guide review regarded its image and video results positively while noting that the smart capabilities were less impressive than the hardware headline.

With AES+RSA encryption, your data stays safe and private. Enjoy 24/7 playback, instant alerts, and clear two-way audio with built-in noise cancellation—giving you full control and peace of mind anytime, anywhere.

Resolution alone does not determine whether footage identifies a person or reads a license plate. Distance, angle, lighting, compression, motion blur and subject size matter. Digital zoom enlarges recorded pixels; it is not optical zoom and cannot restore detail the camera did not capture. A broad yard view may be useful for seeing activity but leave a person too small for confident identification.

The spotlight can produce color footage when there is enough light, but it may also cause glare near a wall or window, attract insects, disturb neighbors and consume additional power. Infrared mode is less conspicuous, but black-and-white footage in darkness should not be expected to show color detail. Test both nighttime modes at the actual installation point, including the view toward reflective surfaces and the property boundary.

Solar power: treat it as battery-life extension

Baseus specifies a 3W solar panel, a 120-degree panel coverage angle and a 7,800mAh battery. The company advertises up to 150 days of battery life and says 20 minutes of sunlight can provide 24 hours of operation; its listed charging time is 5.5 hours under stated charging conditions. These are manufacturer claims, not a guarantee for every property. Baseus’s launch announcement also promotes solar performance, but real autonomy depends on conditions and settings.

Direct sun, seasonal sun angle, shade from eaves or trees, cloud cover, temperature and panel orientation all affect charging. Frequent motion events, live viewing, spotlight use and a weak Wi-Fi connection can increase consumption. A camera watching a busy sidewalk may wake far more often than one monitoring a quiet back garden. Cold conditions can also reduce battery performance even though Baseus lists an operating range of −20°C to 50°C.

  • Important Power Note — How Recording Works: Solar and battery power support parking protection and event-triggered recording only. Continuous recording while driving requires connection to the car’s power supply using the included cable (no hardwire kit needed). The rear camera also requires a wired connection.
  • World’s First Smart AI Dual-Tracking Security Camera: Featuring dual independent 3K cameras and up to 300° pan tracking, Baseus X1 Pro supports cross-camera relay tracking and independent dual-target tracking. Monitor two areas simultaneously with smooth, uninterrupted coverage and no blind spots.
  • Dual 3K Resolution, Color Night Vision & 8× Zoom: Capture sharp details day and night with dual 3K lenses, a 100LM spotlight, and color night vision up to 26 ft (8 m). Supports 8× digital zoom and split-screen viewing to monitor two areas at once with clarity.

For a retrofit or new build, check the proposed mounting location in the season and time of day that are most challenging—not just when installing. A shaded north-facing wall, deep overhang or future tree canopy may make solar much less useful. The panel’s movement also needs unobstructed clearance. Plan for occasional cable charging unless your own installation and usage demonstrate otherwise. Solar is best understood as reducing charging frequency, not eliminating maintenance.

AI features: detection is not identification

Baseus lists detection categories for humans, faces, pets and vehicles, alongside smart tagging and search, auto patrol, privacy zones, dual sentry mode and timed patrol features. Those labels do not establish that the camera recognizes a familiar person, identifies a vehicle’s make or plate, or reliably distinguishes a genuine threat from shadows, rain, insects, branches and headlights. “Face detection” is not necessarily face recognition, and “vehicle detection” is not license-plate recognition.

Detection quality can vary by distance, angle and night lighting. The dossier does not establish whether all AI processing occurs on the camera, whether event search works fully offline, or how each lens’s zones are configured in every current app version. Treat those points as items to verify for your particular setup rather than assume from the phrase “AI camera.” Tom’s Guide’s assessment is a useful counterweight to the marketing emphasis: broad coverage is more convincing than class-leading AI intelligence.

Local storage and the no-subscription trade-off

The X1 Pro’s microSD recording can avoid a required recurring cloud-storage fee and keep footage on a card you control. Baseus lists capacity support up to 512GB. That can lower long-term cost, but local storage transfers responsibility to the owner. Cards wear out, fill up or fail; a stolen or damaged camera may take its recordings with it. Export important footage promptly and keep a separate protected copy when evidence matters.

Local recording does not necessarily mean every function is entirely offline or processed on-device. Remote viewing, notifications, app access, account management and firmware updates may still depend on network or vendor services. Baseus markets the product as no-cloud and privacy-focused; its launch material claims AES and RSA encryption and EN 18031 privacy compliance. These should be understood as company claims, not an independent security audit. Review the current app permissions, account and sharing controls, update practices and privacy terms.

Use privacy zones or masks where available, avoid pointing cameras into neighbors’ private spaces, and follow local rules for audio recording and surveillance. Tell household members and guests about monitoring where appropriate. A consumer camera is not a substitute for an alarm with professional monitoring.

Installation: plan the wall, power and network together

Baseus lists wall, ceiling, pole and tree mounting options, IP65 weather resistance and operation from −20°C to 50°C. IP65 indicates dust protection and resistance to water jets; it does not mean submersible, pressure-washer-proof or immune to salt air, condensation, snow accumulation around seals or every angle of driving rain. Follow the installation guidance, avoid trapping water around cable entries and do not pressure-wash the unit.

The camera uses 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. That band often reaches farther and penetrates walls better than 5GHz, but can be congested in dense neighborhoods. Routers with a combined network name, band steering, mesh handoffs or guest-network isolation can complicate pairing. There is no listed 5GHz option, so test the signal at the exact outdoor mounting position before drilling. A fast broadband plan will not fix weak Wi-Fi at the camera.

  1. Choose the sightlines: Mark the door, driveway, gate or yard areas that need coverage, then check what walls, eaves and vegetation block each lens.
  2. Check daylight and Wi-Fi: Assess sun exposure and 2.4GHz signal at the intended position; account for seasonal shade and the panel’s movement clearance.
  3. Prepare storage: Use a reputable endurance-rated microSD card, and format it in the app if supported. Verify recording rather than assuming the card is working.
  4. Pair and update: Install the Baseus Security app, pair near the router, and check for app and firmware updates before final mounting. The Baseus Security App Store listing shows an update history, a reminder that software is part of the ownership experience.
  5. Configure and test: Set time zone, recording, detection zones, privacy masks and alerts. Test both lenses independently in daylight and darkness, then export and replay a sample recording.

If pairing fails, bring the camera close to the router, confirm the phone is on the intended 2.4GHz network, and check router security and guest-network isolation. Temporarily separating Wi-Fi bands may help with a combined SSID. If needed, reset and retry pairing before mounting; mesh behavior or weak signal at the final location can still cause trouble afterward.

Price and alternatives

Price checked August 16, 2026: Baseus’s U.S. listing showed $169.99 for a one-camera pack with a 32GB card, against a displayed $279.99 reference price. Packs and card options were also listed. Promotions, bundles, tax, shipping and availability can change; check the current Baseus U.S. product page before purchase. Consider the card, any replacement card, mounting needs and the possibility that a second camera will still be necessary when comparing total cost.

Option Best reason to consider it Main trade-off
Baseus Security X1 Pro Two independently controlled views, solar assistance and local storage in one wire-free unit. 2.4GHz-only networking, solar and AI caveats, and a younger ecosystem.
eufy SoloCam S340 Similar dual-camera solar concept, local storage and optional HomeBase S380 integration; the observed U.S. page listed $199.99. Higher observed price; buyers should weigh the eufy ecosystem and its current compatibility details.
Baseus Security S2 A lower-cost single-camera approach; Baseus’s collection page showed $89.99 for the 4K model. It does not provide the X1 Pro’s two independently tracking views.
Wired PoE or monitored system More suitable when dependable network/power, protected recording or professional response is the priority. More installation work and potentially higher system cost; not a like-for-like wire-free setup.
Arlo system Worth considering for buyers prioritizing an established app and broader product ecosystem. Some of the strongest service features may depend on subscriptions; check current plans and device support.

Baseus’s current security collection can help distinguish its S2, N1 and S1-family products; do not assume they share the X1 Pro’s storage, camera arrangement or compatibility. Arlo’s U.S. support page is a starting point for its current ecosystem. Product availability and policies can change.

Who should buy it?

Consider the X1 Pro if you have two nearby outdoor areas to watch from one viable mounting point, good 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, useful sunlight and a preference for local recording without a required monthly storage bill. It makes particular sense for a driveway and entrance, gate and yard, or other adjacent views where independent tracking is valuable.

Choose another approach if the site is heavily shaded, the outdoor Wi-Fi is unreliable, you need Ethernet/PoE, cellular backup, professional monitoring, robust cloud redundancy, advanced person or plate recognition, or assured fixed coverage of multiple critical approaches. It is also not the answer for license-plate capture at distance or harsh environments beyond the stated IP65 and temperature limits.

Baseus calls the X1 Pro the “world’s first” smart AI dual-tracking camera, but that is a marketing superlative rather than an independently established category fact. The defensible case is narrower and still interesting: two controlled views, solar-assisted battery operation and local recording in a single product.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
