Yes—the Roborock Saros Z70 really has a working robotic arm. Its foldable, five-axis OmniGrip arm can identify and move certain lightweight objects, including socks, small towels, crumpled tissues and slippers. But it is not a general-purpose robot butler: Roborock rates the arm for loads up to 300 grams (about 10.6 ounces), and many functions depend on app configuration and software updates.
Which Roborock vacuum has the arm?
The arm belongs to the Roborock Saros Z70, a premium robot vacuum and mop launched in January 2025. Roborock describes it as the first mass-produced robot vacuum with a foldable mechanical arm. The company calls the system OmniGrip.
The arm folds into the robot when it is not in use, then extends to inspect, grip and relocate eligible objects. It uses a camera, LED lighting, precision sensors and a weight sensor, according to Roborock’s product information.

There is an important date qualification: the Saros Z70 was a flagship-level launch product, but Roborock’s 2026 lineup includes newer Saros 20 and Saros 20 Sonic models. Those newer models should not be assumed to include the Z70’s grabbing arm.

What can the arm pick up?
Roborock currently lists these objects for automatic recognition and handling:

The 300-gram rating is a limit, not a guarantee that every lighter object will be successfully gripped. A lightweight item may still be too flat, slippery, soft, bulky or trapped beneath furniture for the gripper to handle.
Roborock says the Z70 has 108 pre-programmed recognizable objects and can support up to 50 additional user-defined objects through customizable AI recognition. Recognition is not the same as reliable gripping or intelligent placement: an object may be identified but still be difficult to lift, carry or put down safely.

- Detect and mark an object it may be able to move.
- Continue cleaning around the object or leave the area temporarily.
- Return during a later cleaning pass.
- Use the arm to pick up or shift the eligible item.
- Clean the area that was previously blocked.
That is different from tidying an entire room while vacuuming. The robot will not reliably sort a pile of laundry, understand which objects are valuable or fragile, or decide where arbitrary household belongings belong.
Can it put objects away?
Roborock describes programmable relocation scenarios, such as moving socks toward a closet, sandals toward an entrance rug and tissues toward a storage box. Users can define destinations through the app.
This is best understood as software-directed relocation, not human-like organization. The feature requires setup, suitable floor space and compatible objects. Recognition and organization behavior may also change through over-the-air updates.
Is the arm automatic?
Some supported objects can be recognized and handled automatically. The Roborock app can also be used to control the arm for additional small items. That manual-control option requires the robot to be connected and configured in the app.

Roborock says the arm functions are disabled by default and can be activated by the user. The robot also includes an arm switch, emergency-stop functionality and child-lock or related safety features.
Safety limitations
The arm adds moving mechanical parts to a device that normally travels unattended. Roborock’s safety materials advise users to:
- Keep children and pets away while the arm is operating.
- Do not touch or interfere with the moving mechanism.
- Never exceed the 0.3-kilogram rated load.
- Never use the arm to pick up burning or smoking objects.
- Stop the robot if it is damaged or behaving abnormally.
- Retract the arm, switch off the robot and disconnect power before maintenance.
Roborock also describes pressure switches and anti-pinch sensors. Those are manufacturer claims, not independent proof that the arm is harmless in every interaction. A child or pet should not be allowed to approach the robot while it is operating.

US store pages captured on August 16, 2026 showed sale prices between $1,099.99 and $1,299.99, compared with a listed reference price of approximately $2,599. The pages displayed different variants, so readers should check the official product page for the price, warranty and return terms currently offered in their market.

Who should consider it?
The Saros Z70 makes the most sense for an early adopter or robotics enthusiast who already wants a premium self-cleaning robot vacuum and regularly finds socks, tissues, slippers or similar light clutter on the floor.
It is a weaker choice if the main goal is maximum cleaning value, low mechanical complexity or reliable handling of arbitrary clutter. The arm cannot replace manual tidying, and its long-term reliability, repair cost and replacement-part availability deserve consideration because it adds actuators, sensors and a gripper to the robot.
Readers who want Roborock’s newer flagship-generation cleaning or navigation features may also want to compare the Saros 20 and Saros 20 Sonic. Roborock’s 2026 announcement identifies those as newer products, but the available information does not establish that they have the Z70’s arm.

The Saros Z70’s arm is real and more useful than a purely theatrical demonstration. It can help clear a narrow class of lightweight floor obstacles and, with setup, move some objects toward designated areas. But the 300-gram limit, object shape, approach angle, software support and need for supervision sharply constrain what it can do.
Think of it as a sophisticated obstacle-removal accessory on a premium robot vacuum—not as an autonomous household organizer.
